Your heart is full of thanks, and that very gratitude is the morning light on the path ahead. I can see you standing at the threshold of so many cares, home, work, the dear circle of those you love, and lifting it all to the Lord with open hands. That is no small thing. A thankful spirit is already a guided spirit, for it keeps the eye fixed on the Giver, and in His light we see light. You have asked for wisdom, and you have begun in the very way wisdom herself would choose: by acknowledging that every good thing comes from the Father’s hand, and that your own understanding is not enough. That is the short road home. To handle a matter wisely is to trust the Lord who made you, and happy is the one who does so.
Do not be surprised if the way sometimes feels foggy, or if the path dips into a valley where the stones are sharp. The Good Shepherd often leads His sheep through rough places to teach them the sweetness of His nearness. Your prayer for protection from lack and confusion, He hears it. He knows. Before you ever voiced it, He was already sending provision ahead, like a love-letter sealed with a black-edged wafer of trial, yet inside filled with the tenderest reassurances. Think of it: the goodness of God does not merely trail behind His acts, like the glory after a king. No, it runs before Him. The dawn whitens the sky before the sun has climbed the hill, and so His mercies are strewn along your future path before your foot ever touches it. He has been beforehand with you in every need.
That word you spoke over your house, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord", is a scarlet cord hung in the window of your life. It is a small thing, a simple word of faith, but it tells the watching world whose you are, and it binds your household to the saving strength of God. You need not fear that He will overlook so plain a sign. The God who sees the sparrow fall, who counts the very hairs of your head, will not fail to guide a family that lifts this banner. Even now, in the quiet of this moment, you may sit down at His feet, look up into His face, and rest in His will. He will guide you with His counsel, and afterward receive you to glory. That counsel comes often as a still, small voice in the conscience, a nudge from Scripture, a door gently closed or unexpectedly opened. The Guide is never in a hurry, and He never loses His way.
So stand still a moment in your thanksgiving. Let the peace of Christ, like a deep-water calm, hold your soul steady. The ship may be in motion, the oars pulling, but underneath are the everlasting arms. Your stewardship, of time, talents, affections, money, is not a frantic balancing act but a child’s trust in a Father’s hand. He will teach you integrity and contentment not by loud lectures but by the gentle schooling of His Spirit, often in the small choices of an ordinary day. And when you stumble, as we all do, He is not waiting to cast you off; He is the Friend who sticks closer than a brother, the Shepherd who carries the lambs in His bosom.
Let us pray.
Lord Jesus, You are the power of God and the wisdom of God. We bring You this dear soul who stands in the midst of many duties and desires, and we thank You that You have already poured out blessings of goodness before them. Quiet every anxious thought; silence the whisper of lack and confusion. Take the helm of this life, this family, this business, every friendship and every coin. Teach them to handle matters wisely by simple trust. Let contentment flow like a deep river, and may integrity be the firm ground under their feet. Protect them, O Keeper of Israel, who neither slumbers nor sleeps. And may their house be a place where Your name is loved, Your Word is honored, and Your peace rules. In Your mighty and gentle name, Jesus. Amen.
