A socially connected life full of love and my people

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Dear God. I accept Jesus has dyed of all of us. God, I am so isolated. I'm a younger age than most of my family. I grew up as a military brat, away from extended family. My friendships were short and fast as they are in that environment. By the time my family stopped moving I was exiting high school. I had no solidified long term friendships. As an adult, I went to colleges and felt I had quick short-lasting friendships once again. Growing up my mom and brother often attempted suicide and told me I was the reason. I followed this cycle as a teen and adult. I spent a significant part of my life wishing I was dead and taking drugs. Feeling worthless, rejected, and not a part of anything. I moved across the country. I've spent the last decade in various therapies, reading books, and getting closer to you God. My mom on the phone still laughs at my spirituality saying you shouldn't trust Christians. Most people I spend a lot of time with tell me my perspectives on life are wrong and are constantly correcting me. No one seems interested in building a very close best friend status with me. I'm not close to my nephew or niece which my brother had very young. And I watched them when I was in middle school. My brother stopped calling me to tell me he was suicidal only 2 years ago now. I'm a bit of a black sheep in my family. I'm ### now. I feel rejected from this last friendship attempt I made inviting a coworker to the beach. I have therapy coming up. I pray God will stop with the isolation and please fill my life with kind, patient, loving friends like family. A best friend. A spouse. A big family, I hope. All my life I've just wanted to be part of a closeness I can't seem to understand or find. I'm struggling with isolation too within my work. It's quiet and so silent. I want desperately to know what God's will is for my life. I want clarity and alignment with what God has for me. I want a wife, a best friend, steady community, social ease, and a life full of people to keep up with and care for. To be making memories with people and not alone. I want this cycle of mental health issues that I experienced in my childhood to diminish and have no power. I've forgiven my family and moved one, even if they don't see eye to eye. I have good rapport in all areas of my life. But, no constant or consistent contact with anyone. As I continue to join softball, an acting class, another regular gym class, my church, and go to local events I pray God guide my steps to the people he would have me to know. That I meet equally yoked woman with a vision for marriage like I have. A best friend who shares in the sweet, beautiful life God provides. a high vibrational woman. Let me too be, be what you want me to be GOD. I cry out so deeply from my soul that this isolation will end.

We hear the depth of your cry and we join you in bringing this profound longing for belonging before the Lord together in Jesus' name. You have carried so much from a young age, moving often as a military family, never able to put down deep roots, experiencing short and fast friendships, and enduring the heavy burden of a mother and brother who told you that you were the reason for their attempts to take their own lives. That is a false and crushing lie that no child should ever bear, and we grieve with you over the years you spent wishing you were dead, feeling worthless and rejected, and turning to drugs to numb the pain. We thank God that you have spent the last decade seeking healing through therapy and drawing closer to Him, and that you now declare that you accept that Jesus died for us all. It is only through that precious sacrifice that we are made new and have access to the Father.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life John 3:16. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. By grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God Ephesians 2:8. Your worth is not determined by the rejection you felt from family or by friendships that did not last, for you are fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:14, and nothing can separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord Romans 8:38-39.

We want to gently address a phrase you used, a high vibrational woman. We understand your desire for a joyful, loving, godly wife, but that language comes from New Age spirituality and not from Scripture. What God calls you to seek is not a vibration but a woman whose heart loves Jesus, who is equally yoked with you in faith. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with iniquity 2 Corinthians 6:14. A wife of noble character who can find, for her value is far above rubies Proverbs 31:10. We affirm your beautiful vision for marriage as God designed it, a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and we encourage you to pursue courtship with that goal, seeking a Christian believer to become your wife, keeping yourselves pure before marriage, for God honors marriage and calls us to flee fornication.

We also hear how painful it is that your mother laughs at your faith and tells you not to trust Christians, and that many around you constantly correct your perspective. The Lord knows this rejection. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. God sets the lonely in families Psalm 68:6, and He has promised I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you Hebrews 13:5. A man who has friends must show himself friendly, and there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother Proverbs 18:24, and that truest friend is Jesus Himself, while He also desires to give you earthly fellowship in the body of Christ.

We rejoice that you have forgiven your family and that you are taking faithful steps, joining softball, an acting class, a regular gym class, your church, and local events. This is good and wise. A man's heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps Proverbs 16:9. We encourage you to stay planted especially in your church, not just attending but seeking a small group or Bible study where consistent, face to face community can grow over time, for true best friendships and a godly marriage are often built slowly through faithful presence, service, and shared love for Christ.

We pray together for you now.

Father, we lift up our brother before Your throne in the name of Jesus Christ. You see every lonely night, every move, every wound from words spoken over him as a child, and every attempt he made to find belonging. We ask You to heal the deep places of rejection and to break the cycle of mental anguish and suicidal thoughts that has haunted his family, for You came to give life abundantly. Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7, and we ask that he would cast every anxiety upon You and feel Your peace which surpasses all understanding guarding his heart Philippians 4:7. Father, end this season of deep isolation. Lead his steps to the people You have for him. Provide a kind, patient, loving community like family, a true best friend, and in Your perfect timing, a godly wife who loves You with all her heart, who shares his vision for marriage and family. Give him clarity and alignment with Your will, for we know You declare For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. Strengthen him in his quiet workplace, let his good rapport grow into consistent fellowship, and make him the man You want him to be, rooted in Christ, confident not in being corrected by others but in Your Word. We ask that You help him to trust Christians again where trust is warranted, to discern wisely, and to keep his eyes on Jesus, who said I am the way, the truth, and the life John 14:6. We pray for his upcoming therapy, that You would use it for good, but that his deepest healing would come from Your Spirit. Fill his life with memories made with people who love You, with laughter, service, and love, and let him know he is no longer a black sheep but a beloved son in Your family. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek Him daily in prayer and the Word, to be open with your therapist and with trusted mature believers at your church about the weight you carry, and to not be discouraged by one rejected invitation like the beach outing with a coworker. God is not slow as you may feel He is, He is preparing both you and those He will bring into your life. Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you Isaiah 41:10. Keep walking faithfully, keep praying, and trust that the God who has brought you this far will be faithful to complete His good work in you and to surround you with the love you so deeply desire.

We hear how deep and long this loneliness has been. Growing up moving often, without lasting friendships, carrying the weight of your mom and brother telling you that you were the reason for their pain, and then carrying your own wish to not be alive and the years of feeling worthless and rejected. It makes sense that you would long so deeply for a steady, close circle, a best friend, a wife and family, and a clear sense of God's direction.

We notice the faithful steps you have already been taking over the last decade, the therapies and reading, drawing closer to God, choosing forgiveness even when your family does not see eye to eye, and now showing up week after week at softball, an acting class, the gym, church and local events. That consistency matters, even when a single invitation like the beach does not turn into the closeness you hoped for. We are glad you have therapy coming up, please keep that appointment and be open there about the isolation and the thoughts of not wanting to be alive, alongside prayer.

We are praying for you and will keep praying.

Father, we lift our brother to You in Jesus' name. You see his ache for belonging and for clarity about Your will. Please surround him with kind, patient, faithful people, guard his heart and mind, and guide his steps day by day toward the community and future You have for him. Give wisdom to those supporting him in counseling and in his church. Amen.

Your prayer has been read with great tenderness, and your sorrow has not been lightly passed over. There is a loneliness which many of the Lord's people know too well, and you describe it plainly, to have grown up without rooted friendships, to have moved often, to have felt yourself the black sheep, to have heard from those nearest to you that you were the cause of their despair, and then to have carried that same darkness in your own heart, wishing for death and seeking refuge in drugs. The Lord knows what it is to be left alone just when, as Man, He most needed human sympathy. He was forsaken by His friends when He was made the Sin Bearer, for sin is a separating thing. He knows the weight of being rejected and friendless, and He is able to enter into your sorrow with a perfect sympathy.

You speak also of a second loneliness which belongs to many Christians, the loneliness that comes from the absence of godly society, and the loneliness that comes in deep soul conflict when faith itself must fight for its existence. Some of you understand what I mean by that, when the mind is weary and the heart is heavy. In such seasons we learn that coarse minds may scorn the gentle joys of fellowship, but the tender heart feels the absence keenly. Do not think that this marks you as forgotten by God. Often it is in that very quiet, even in the silence of your work and the stillness of your days, that Christ draws near to make Himself known as Friend.

For there is a Friend who proves His friendship as none other can, by laying down His life for those He calls His friends. Friendship with Christ is not all on one side. There is bounty and kindness on His part, and there must be gratitude and love on ours, but true friendship is reciprocal. Persons can hardly maintain friendship if they only see each other now and then, without communion. So it must be between you and Christ. He reveals Himself to His people, and His people tell out their hearts to Him. Obedience is an essential of true friendship to Christ. If we know His will and do it, we walk in the light of that friendship. Continue then to pour out your heart to Him in prayer, to hear His voice in the Scriptures, and to keep His commandments, not as a burden but as the way of abiding near Him.

You have been given grace to forgive your family, and to keep good rapport where there has been wounding, even when your mother laughs at your faith and others are quick to correct you. Remember that godly people hedge the house with their prayers, and who can tell what blessings God gives to families because of one who seeks Him. Hold fast to the faith of Christ. Forsake not the God who has revealed Himself in His Son, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, who died and rose again that sinners might be reconciled to God. You have said you accept that Jesus died for us, and that is the only hope for any soul. Cling to Him, not to vague spirituality, but to the Lamb who shed His blood.

And concerning your deep desire for companionship, for a best friend, for a wife and a family and a home full of love, that desire in itself is not to be despised. Marriage is not a relationship of birth, but of choice, and it is cemented by mutual love where two become one. When God says, I am married unto you, He shows that He joins His people to Himself by a blessed choice on both sides. Earthly marriage is meant to reflect that heavenly mystery. The consummation of redemption itself is set forth as the marriage of the Lamb, and blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. Therefore pray for marriage as God ordains it, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, where love is on both sides and both are joined by inseparable bonds.

You asked for a high vibrational woman. I would gently lead you to seek by a better name what your heart truly longs for, a godly woman, equally yoked, who loves the Lord Jesus and desires marriage as a holy covenant before God, not as a passing feeling but as a steadfast vow. Ask the Lord to make you also what He would have you to be, a man walking in holiness, sober minded, patient, and steadfast, that you may be fit to love and lead a family for His glory. As you continue in your church, and in those lawful gatherings you have named, keep your eyes open for godly society, for those who will be dear friends in Christ, who feel pleased to walk with you and look for your growth in faith.

Do not be discouraged because a single invitation was not returned, or because constant and consistent contact has been slow to come. True friendship is not built in a day, and the Lord often keeps His children waiting that they may learn to find their first and deepest fellowship in Himself, and then be better prepared to love others well. Continue to walk in the means of grace, to be faithful in the little things, to serve where you are placed, and to pray that God will guide your steps to the people He would have you know, and make your path clear according to His will.

Now let us pray for you.

O Lord our God, we bring this our brother before Thy throne of grace. Thou hast seen his isolation from his youth, his wandering, his wounds from those who should have comforted him, his seasons of despair and his seeking after Thee. Have mercy upon him and lift from him the power of that old cycle of darkness. Let him know himself beloved in Christ, not worthless nor rejected, but bought with precious blood. Forgive his sins and establish him in the sure hope of salvation through Jesus Christ alone.

Grant him, we pray, kind and patient and loving friends who fear Thy name, and a steady community in which he may grow and be known. If it be Thy will, provide for him a wife who loves Thee above all, equally yoked, of chaste and gentle spirit, that they may enter together into the covenant of marriage as one man and one woman for life, to Thy glory. Give him clarity concerning Thy will, and alignment with Thy purposes, and social ease that comes from a quiet confidence in Thee. Keep him in his therapy and in all honest means, but be Thou his chief Physician. Cause the silence of his days to be filled with communion with Christ, who was alone that we might never be utterly alone. Make him fruitful as a living tree unto Thee, and keep Thy sacred testimony alive in him all his days. In the name of the Lamb who was slain and is now married to His Church, we ask it. Amen.
