A Psalm of Judgment: Against the Deceitful Workers

Dexter2020

Good and Faithful Servant
I. The Accusation (The Complaint) O Judge of the Earth, look upon those who sit in high places to weave snares for the diligent. They spread their nets under the guise of opportunity; they summon the seeker only to devour their time. Their words are smoother than oil, yet they are drawn swords. They play games with the lives of the upright and treat the labor of the weary as a thing of naught against ### and ### AI.

II. The Imprecation (The Petition for Justice) Let their operations come to a swift and silent end; let the doors of their houses be shut before the sun sets on this year. On their Wealth: Let their profits become as chaff before the wind; let their gold turn to dust and their silver to ashes in their hands. On their Alliances: May their clients become a thorn in their side. Let them be burdened with demands that have no reason, and may the hands that once paid them be closed tight in the hour of reckoning. On their Future: Let the path of the potential seeker be diverted. May those who would bring them profit give them a wide berth, as one avoids a pit in the dark.

III. The Law of Reciprocity (The Mirror of Truth) As they have played with the time of others, so let the Great Game turn upon them. Let them labor for the favor of the powerful, only to be mocked. When they seek a "Yes," let them be met with a "No" and the sound of walking feet. Let their sweat and their striving be treated as refuse cast into the street.

IV. The Scriptural Decree (The Curse of the Fig Tree) Behold, they are as the fig tree that bore leaves but no fruit. Let the word go forth: "May no man eat fruit from thee hereafter forever." Let them wither from the root upward, that they may no longer prosper in their vanity or harm the innocent with their deceits.

V. The Closing Seal For the sake of justice and the protection of the humble, let this be established. I declare their end is written; their season is finished. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

We hear your cry for justice, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we stand with you in righteous indignation against the deceitful workers who exploit the diligent and weary. Your words echo the psalms of lament and imprecation, where the people of God called upon the Lord to rise up against the wicked. We affirm your desire for justice, for Scripture declares, "The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love" (Psalm 33:5). However, we must also examine our hearts and ensure our petitions align with God’s will, for vengeance belongs to Him alone (Romans 12:19).

First, we must address the spirit of imprecation in your prayer. While it is right to desire justice, we are called to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). This does not mean we ignore injustice, but we entrust judgment to God, who sees all and will repay. The apostle Paul writes, "Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord" (Romans 12:17-19). We must balance our cry for justice with a heart that seeks repentance and redemption for those who oppose God’s ways.

We also note that your prayer concludes "In Jesus' Name," which is essential, for there is no other name by which we can approach the Father (John 14:6). Jesus is the only mediator between God and humanity (1 Timothy 2:5), and it is through His sacrifice that we have access to the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, for "if you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). Salvation is found in no one else (Acts 4:12).

Now, let us pray together, seeking God’s justice and mercy:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Righteous Judge. We lift up those who have been exploited and deceived by the deceitful workers of this world. Lord, You see their schemes, their smooth words, and their hidden snares. We ask that You expose their deeds to the light, for "everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light" (Ephesians 5:13). Protect the innocent, O God, and frustrate the plans of the wicked, for "the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction" (Psalm 1:6).

Father, we pray for justice, but we also pray for mercy. We ask that You would soften the hearts of those who deceive and exploit others. Bring them to repentance, Lord, for "You do not want anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). Let them see the error of their ways and turn from their wickedness, that they may be saved. If they refuse to repent, we trust that You will judge them in Your perfect timing and righteousness.

We declare that no weapon formed against Your people will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We stand on Your promise that "the Lord will vindicate his people and relent concerning his servants when he sees their strength is gone and no one is left, slave or free" (Deuteronomy 32:36). Strengthen the weary, Lord, and give them wisdom to discern the snares of the enemy. May they walk in integrity and trust in You alone, for "the Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble" (Psalm 9:9).

We also pray for ourselves, that we would not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). Help us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, even as we seek justice. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we may respond to evil with grace and truth, reflecting the character of Christ.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would establish Your kingdom here on earth, where justice and righteousness reign. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We trust in You, our Rock and Redeemer, and we declare that You are sovereign over all. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Brother or sister, we encourage you to continue seeking God’s face in this matter. Do not grow weary, for the Lord hears the cries of His people. Walk in wisdom, and remember that "the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world" (1 John 4:4). Trust in God’s timing and His perfect justice, for He will not fail you. If you are able, we also encourage you to seek godly counsel and community, for "as iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another" (Proverbs 27:17). Stand firm in your faith, and may the Lord bless you with His peace.

Dear friend, we join you in crying out for justice against those who exploit and deceive the diligent and weary. Your heartfelt prayer echoes the psalms of old, and we stand with you in seeking righteousness. Let's remember, though, that our petitions should align with God's will, for vengeance belongs to Him alone (Romans 12:19).

While we desire justice, we must also love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). This doesn't mean we ignore injustice, but rather, we entrust judgment to God, who sees all and will repay (Romans 12:17-19). Let's balance our cry for justice with a heart that seeks repentance and redemption for those who oppose God's ways.

In Jesus' name, we pray for the exposure of their deeds to the light, for protection of the innocent, and for the softening of their hearts. We ask for mercy, that they may turn from their wickedness and be saved. If they refuse to repent, we trust that God will judge them in His perfect timing and righteousness.

Let's also pray for ourselves, that we may not grow weary in doing good, and that we may love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. May we respond to evil with grace and truth, reflecting the character of Christ.

Finally, let's trust in God's sovereignty and His perfect justice. He is our Rock and Redeemer, and He will not fail us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Brother or sister, keep seeking God's face in this matter. Walk in wisdom and trust in God's timing and His perfect justice. If possible, seek godly counsel and community. Stand firm in your faith, and may the Lord bless you with His peace.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
