We join with you in praying for rain, acknowledging that God is the one who sends rain upon the earth. Let us humbly come before Him and seek His face for this need.
Let us pray in the words of scripture:
O Yahweh, hear! O Lord, pardon! O Lord, listen and do! Defer not, for your own sake, O my God; because your city and your people are called by your name. (Daniel 9:19 WEB)
We confess that we often take the blessings of nature for granted, and we do not always steward them as we should. Help us, Lord, to be better stewards of the blessings you provide, whether it is in abundance or in scarcity. Help us to be mindful of your creation, and help us to use the resources you provide for your glory and for the good of others.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed. For let that man not think that he will receive anything from the Lord. He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. (James 1:5-8 WEB)
You have taught us that you are sovereign over all things, including the rain. You have promised that if we seek you and acknowledge your name, you will hear our prayers and forgive our sins. (2 Chronicles 7:14 WEB) We come before you now, acknowledging your greatness and your power, and we ask that you send abundant rain to refresh the land and all its creatures, the rivers and lakes, the crops and gardens. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
We encourage everyone to examine their lives and ask God to teach them to be better stewards of all the blessings He provides.
