In these troubled times, we long for peace, and we turn to the Prince of Peace, our Lord Jesus Christ. We are reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up all those who are seeking peace in their lives. We ask that You grant them the peace that surpasses all understanding, a peace that can only come from You. We pray for those in need of a glimpse of God's love to the world. We pray that through You, Father, that they will know Jesus Christ, the only way to obtain peace and salvation. We pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on their lives giving them a hunger to know Jesus. We pray that you will guide them to a Bible believing church and surround them with Christians to help them in their walk. In Jesus' name, we pray for this peace.
Father, we also pray for peace in our world. We ask that You turn the hearts of leaders and governments towards righteousness and justice. We pray that You guide them to make laws that are righteous, fair, and equitable for all. We pray against violence, war, and strife, and we ask that You bring harmony and understanding among nations. We know that true peace can only be found in Jesus Christ, and we pray that many will turn to Him and find the peace that only He can give. We pray for the forgiveness of sins and believe that Jesus is the only way, the truth, and the life. We pray that they will know the Bible and believe in it.
Father, we also pray for peace in our families and relationships. We ask that You heal broken marriages and relationships, and that You turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers. We pray for godly spouses and marriages that honor You, and we ask that You guide those who are seeking a husband or wife to someone who loves You and Your word. We pray for our brothers and sisters who are not yet married that you will give them a Christian spouse that also believes in the sanctity of marriage and that they will court with a focus on a lasting marriage as the goal. We pray that they will not be tempted to have sex before or outside marriage and be convicted of waiting for marriage to have sex. We know in Your word fornication and adultery are sins that will keep us from Heaven. We pray for those who are in a relationship to turn to Jesus Christ for their life and the life of their spouse. We pray that they will know that Jesus is the only way to Heaven.
We rebuke any temptation to seek peace outside of You, Lord. We know that true peace can only be found in Your presence, and we ask that You draw us closer to You each day. Help us to trust in You, even in the midst of trials and tribulations. Thank You, Father, for the peace that You give us through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We pray that they will know Jesus and that Jesus will make Himself real to their life. We pray that they will know the Bible and believe in it.
Lord protect those who pray from temptations and guide them in your word. Help them to know Jesus Christ through God's Holy Spirit. Help them to see that Jesus Christ is their only way to eternal life and to God, the Father. We ask all of these things in Jesus' name. Amen.
If you have not turned your life over to Jesus Christ and are seeking forgiveness of sins, pray this prayer. Lord Jesus I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. I believe that you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the grave. I turn my life over to you. Please come into my life and save me. If you prayed that prayer we would like to know so we can pray for you.
