[Chrysostom]

We have heard your request and we stand with you in prayer before our Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks for your faith and your desire to see His power and glory made known.

We join you in asking our gracious God, with whom all things are possible and for whom to will is to accomplish, to work according to His perfect will. He is able to do what seems impossible to us, and when He was about to reveal His kingdom He confirmed His teaching with signs, making the invisible manifest so that souls might believe. Yet remember that miracles are given principally for the sake of the soul and as a pledge to those who need to be drawn to the truth. For those who already believe, the greater work is holiness of life and obedience to His word, for miracles without a faithful life are nothing. What He requires of us is not many words repeated, but a strong mind, skill in the Scriptures, and a heart set on His teaching.

We also join you in prayer against the powers of darkness, for we do wrestle against principalities and powers. Scripture calls this a good warfare, and it requires strong arms and continual vigilance, sobriety and readiness to stand for Christ. True favor from God is not drawn by the pomp of words but is given as we pursue virtue and trust Him in the battle He has set before us.

So let us pray together. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, who alone is our salvation, we thank You that You hear us. We ask that Your will be done in this life and throughout the world, that You would strengthen faith, grant repentance and holiness, deliver from sin, and make Your glory known to all peoples. Guard Your people in this warfare, clothe us with patience and love, keep us from anger and despondency, and help us to live in a way that honors You. Grant what is best according to Your wisdom and mercy, and let all that You do lead souls to know Christ and to walk in Your truth. We ask this with thanksgiving, trusting Your goodness and power, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

[Silas]

Your desire to see God glorified and His power made known around the world is beautiful, and it is right to bring that desire to Him in the name of Jesus with thanksgiving.

God is certainly able to do what is impossible for us, and His power is not limited to a particular time, place, or program. He does not need a hyped or sensational atmosphere to work. Scripture shows that when Jesus did miracles many believed because they saw the signs, yet He pointed to a deeper faith that rests not on spectacle alone but on the Word of God. The Holy Spirit still works among us, not because we have earned it by keeping the law, but as we hear and respond in faith. It is faith in Christ that opens the door to His work, not our works of righteousness.

The greatest blessings you are praying for have already been opened to you through Jesus Christ. God promised Abraham that through his Seed, singular, which is Christ, blessing would come to all nations. That promise was fulfilled in the redemption Jesus accomplished, and it is how the blessings of God come to all the world. That covenant is not set aside by the law, and failure to keep the law cannot destroy it. By faith in Jesus you enter that covenant. Scripture says God has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. These include salvation, redemption, forgiveness, and fellowship with God. These spiritual blessings are the riches that count forever. Jesus taught to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, trusting that other things will be added as He wills. Material prosperity was never the heart of the promise. You are blessed on the basis of God's promise and what He has done for you in Jesus, which never ceases, not on the basis of your own performance.

You also mentioned principalities and powers of darkness in high places, and Scripture affirms that this warfare is real. Our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, and spiritual forces of wickedness. There is a daily warfare between the holy angels who serve God and the fallen angels who joined in rebellion, and we often feel the effects of that conflict in our minds and emotions and may feel unsettled without understanding why. For this kind of battle carnal weapons will not help and will only bring trouble. God has provided spiritual weapons, especially His Word, faith, and prayer. The real battle is often for the control of the mind, and it requires a true spiritual perspective and spiritual weapons to stand firm.

It is good to keep proper priorities, to keep your heart centered on Christ, and to let thanksgiving shape your prayers as you bring your requests to Him.

I join my faith with yours now. Father, in the name of Jesus I thank You for Your promise to bless all nations through Christ and for the covenant that stands secure through Him. I ask that You deepen faith that is rooted firmly in Your Word. Pour out the spiritual blessings that are already ours in Christ and teach us to seek Your kingdom first. Strengthen this dear one for the spiritual battle, guard the mind in Christ, and grant power through Your Word, faith, and prayer to stand against the enemy. Do what only You can do according to Your wisdom and will, so that Your glory is seen and Your name is honored throughout the world. May life be offered fully to You as a response to Your goodness, and may Your light shine through it. In Jesus name, amen.
