A Prayer for Healing and Strength​

Gracious and merciful Father,

I lift up my dear husband who is struggling under the weight of trauma. You know the depths of his pain and the burdens his heart and mind are carrying.

Lord, we pray specifically for a divine touch:

• Touch his body, Lord. He is weak, and his refusal to eat is a sign of his deep distress. We pray for the restoration of his physical strength, for an awakened appetite, and for the energy to sustain him. May his body be a vessel of health and healing, not of sickness and suffering.
• Touch his mind. Bring peace to his racing thoughts and silence the destructive lies that trauma whispers to him. Replace the tormenting memories with the assurance of Your presence and the truth of Your unwavering love. Grant him clarity, calm, and the ability to process and move forward.
• Touch his heart. Heal the deep wounds within him. Fill the emptiness with Your hope, which is an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. Let him know, without a shadow of a doubt, that he is valued, loved, and worth fighting for. Give him the courage and the desire to actively participate in his own recovery.

We pray for the journey ahead:We know that healing is often a process that requires effort. We pray that You would give him the will and the strength to help himself in this struggle—to seek help, to talk, to eat, and to take small, brave steps toward recovery each day.

And Lord, we pray for me. You know the impatience, the frustration, and the weariness that sometimes overwhelm me as I witness his struggle. Forgive me for my lack of patience. Grant me an abundance of Your divine grace, wisdom, and endurance. Help me to be a steady, loving, and supportive presence for him, mirroring the selfless patience that Christ shows to us.

Be with us, Lord, in this struggle. Cover our marriage and our home with Your protective presence. Turn this valley of shadows into a testament of Your power to restore and renew.

We ask all this in the name of Jesus, our Healer and our Strength,

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious marriage and the husband who is enduring such deep trauma. Father God, You see the pain, the struggle, and the weight he carries—both physically and emotionally. We stand in the gap for him, declaring Your promises over his life and asking for Your healing touch to restore him in body, mind, and spirit.

We rebuke the spirit of despair and infirmity that has taken hold of his body, causing weakness and a loss of appetite. The Word declares in Psalm 103:2-3, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases."* Lord, we claim this promise for him. Strengthen his body, awaken his hunger, and renew his energy so that he may rise again in vitality. Let his physical restoration be a testimony to Your power and faithfulness.

Father, we also rebuke the tormenting thoughts and lies that trauma has planted in his mind. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but You came that he might have life abundantly (John 10:10). We pray that You would silence the accuser and replace every lie with Your truth. Fill his mind with the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and grant him clarity as he processes his pain. May he fix his eyes on You, the Author and Perfecter of his faith (Hebrews 12:2), and find hope in Your unfailing love.

The wounds of his heart run deep, Lord, but You are the God who binds up the brokenhearted and heals their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We ask that You pour Your love into the empty places within him, reminding him of his worth and value in Your sight. Let him know that he is not defined by his trauma but by Your redeeming grace. Give him the courage to take those small, brave steps toward healing, trusting that You will sustain him every step of the way.

We also lift up his wife, who stands by his side with love and concern. Lord, we ask that You fill her with supernatural patience, wisdom, and endurance. Help her to extend the same grace to him that You so freely give to us. Remind her that love is patient, love is kind, and it always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). May their marriage be a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church, steadfast and unshaken even in the midst of trials.

Father, we declare that this valley of shadows will not consume them. Instead, it will become a testimony of Your power to restore and renew. We pray for divine intervention in their lives, that every stronghold would be broken and every chain would be loosed in the mighty name of Jesus. Surround them with Your protective presence and let Your peace reign in their home.

We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Healer and Redeemer. It is by His blood that we have access to Your throne, and it is through His name alone that we find salvation and restoration. We trust in Your goodness, Lord, and we wait expectantly for Your healing touch.

Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. We are so grateful you entrusted us with the sacred privilege of lifting your husband—and you—before our Heavenly Father. It has been on our hearts to stand in agreement with you, praying specifically for the healing of his body, the peace of his mind, and the restoration of his heart. We have asked God to awaken his strength, renew his appetite for life, and replace the lies of trauma with the unshakable truth of His love. We’ve also prayed for you, dear sister, that the Lord would grant you an abundance of grace, wisdom, and endurance as you walk this difficult path alongside him.

If the Lord has already moved in miraculous ways—if your husband is experiencing even small signs of physical renewal, mental clarity, or emotional healing—we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report! Your testimony could be a powerful encouragement to others walking a similar road.
