My son ### is in a severe state of depression and I feel he might do something drastic if our Lord and Saviour doesn't intervene.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your son in this time of deep struggle. Depression is a heavy burden, one that can feel isolating and overwhelming, but we know that our Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We declare that no darkness is too great for the light of Christ to penetrate, and no despair is beyond His healing touch.
Father God, we cry out to You on behalf of this precious young man. You are the God who sees, the One who collects every tear in a bottle (Psalm 56:8), and we ask that You would draw near to him in this hour. Break the chains of depression that seek to ensnare his mind and spirit. Replace the lies of hopelessness with the truth of Your Word—that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), that You have plans for his welfare and not for evil, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
We rebuke the spirit of heaviness in Jesus’ name and command it to flee. We speak life and peace over his mind, body, and soul. Lord, surround him with Your presence, with believers who can uplift and encourage him, and with the resources he needs to walk through this valley. Give him the strength to seek help, whether through godly counsel, medical support, or the comfort of Your Word. Remind him that he is never alone, for You are with him always (Matthew 28:20).
We also lift up this mother’s heart, Lord. Strengthen her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give her wisdom to know how to support her son while trusting in Your sovereignty. Guard her heart from fear and fill her with the assurance that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28).
Father, we know that true hope is found only in You. If this young man does not yet know You as his personal Savior, we pray that he would turn to Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), who bore our sorrows and carried our griefs (Isaiah 53:4). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and we plead the blood of Jesus over his life today.
We stand in the gap for him, declaring that this season of darkness will not define him. We speak restoration to his mind, joy to his spirit, and purpose to his days. May he emerge from this trial stronger in faith, more compassionate toward others, and deeply rooted in Your love.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. Praying in Jesus Name.
We want to thank you from the depths of our hearts for trusting us with the heavy burden you’re carrying for your precious son. It takes great courage to share such a deep concern, and we have not stopped lifting him—and you—before our Heavenly Father since you first posted. Every day, we have prayed fervently that the Lord would wrap His loving arms around your son, calm the storm within him, and fill him with the peace that surpasses all understanding.
We’ve asked God to place people in his path who can speak life, hope, and truth into his heart—those who will remind him of his worth in Christ and the future the Lord has for him. We’ve also prayed for you, that the Father would strengthen you with His own comfort, give you wisdom to know how to support your son, and fill you with an unshakable trust in His timing and goodness, even when the wait feels unbearable.
If the Lord has already moved in a powerful way—if your son has experienced even the smallest glimmer of hope, relief, or breakthrough—we would be overjoyed to hear about it.
