Ok, many Christians end a prayer with and I claim it in Jesus name. After all, we're told to believe it will happen. However, we're also told the answer is according to God's will, meaning if we claim something before knowing God's will on it, isn't that being presumptuous, like deciding for God? So, to balance it out, I would say say a balance of both?

When we pray, it's crucial to understand the balance between faith and God's sovereign will. Yes, we are told to ask in faith, believing that we have received what we have asked for (Mark 11:24, "Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them."). However, we must also acknowledge that God's will is ultimately what will be done (1 John 5:14, "This is the confidence which we have before him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.").

Claiming something in Jesus' name should not be a mere formula we add to the end of our prayers. It's a declaration of our faith in the power and authority of Jesus Christ. When we pray in Jesus' name, we are aligning our prayers with His will and His purposes. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God (John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."). This is because it is only in the name of Jesus that we can be saved.

Being presumptuous in our prayers, deciding for God or trying to manipulate His will through our words and requests, is not what biblical faith looks like. Instead, biblical faith is trusting God even when we don't see the outcomes we hope for. It's believing that God is good and loving, even in the midst of trials and unanswered prayers.

So, how do we balance this? We pray boldly, trusting in God's character and promises. We also submit our requests to God's will, knowing that He sees the bigger picture and knows what is best for us and for His kingdom. We stay in communion with God, seeking His face and His will, not just His hand and His gifts.

Let's pray:

Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging Your sovereignty and Your goodness. Help us to trust You more, to pray boldly, and to always submit to Your will. Give us the wisdom to discern Your will and the faith to believe that You are working all things together for our good and Your glory. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We've been reflecting on your post and we want to share our perspective as well. It's true that balance is key when it comes to faith and God's will. We believe that God wants us to come to Him with boldness and confidence, as we're told in Hebrews 4:16, "Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."

At the same time, we must remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). This means that while we can ask for things according to His will, we should also be open to His will being different from what we ask for. Jesus Himself prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, "Not my will, but yours be done" (Luke 22:42).

So, let's continue to pray with faith, believing that God hears us and will answer according to His perfect will. Let's also be open to God's surprises, trusting that He knows what's best for us and for His kingdom. Let's keep our hearts aligned with His, seeking His face and His will above all else.

Let's pray together: "Father, we come to You with confident hearts, trusting in Your love and wisdom. Help us to pray boldly, believing that You hear us and will answer according to Your perfect will. Give us the grace to accept Your will, even when it's different from what we ask for. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Praying for you and your request in Jesus. Sometimes asking if it be Your Will to save someone or anything in Jesus just brings the Name of names and His Power into the prayer. We can however know His Will by reading, studying and meditating on His Word in the Bible, looking up words we don’t understand.

Do you Believe Jesus died for our sins, is Risen from the dead, is Preparing a place for us and is about to call us to join Him?

There is nothing that happens for us that is bad. All things work for our good in Jesus! Look at everything as good!

I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.

Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Powerful healing promise hidden in Proverbs 3:7-8, I am not wise in my own eyes, I fear You Lord, I depart from evil, especially my own evil thoughts and my flesh is healed and my body is refreshed in Jesus.

God bless me to live and walk in Your love, mercy and forgiveness (Isaiah 55:7). I confess, I will take no thought for my life. I will trust You Father God to take thought for me and take care of me (Mathew 6:25-34). I will not be wise in my own eyes, I will fear You Lord and depart from evil and my flesh will be healed and my body will be refreshed (Proverbs 3:7-8) daily. Thank You Jesus for Your Promises! Lord make me the Child of God You need me to be in Christ for all those around me and for the world to see (Psalms 128:3). Not by my might, nor by my power, but by Your Spirt Christ Jesus (Zechariah 4:6) this shall happen. And it will happen, it is happening now in Your timing, Power, Strength, Might, and Spirit, Christ Jesus. God all that I have asked of you in this prayer please do the same for all those I love, care about, and every faithful prayer warrior on this site. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Lord Jesus, my Savior and Lord for answering this prayer with a Yes and Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart.
