A piece of my story; Hope for better days

Beloved of All

Amen.

Hello, I would like to share a part of my story that I don't usually share with many people.

In ###, I wanted to get my driver's license. My mother had just been hospitalized (her condition was still serious in ###) and I found myself taking care of my little sister, who had just turned ###.

I was deeply depressed and struggling daily with heartbreak and suicidal thoughts. It was during one of these crises that I began to repeat to myself: "As long as Jesus is God, I will not die."

In my country, there is a system that allows you to pay for your driver's license in a single, modest sum and take the exam within a given timeframe, which could range from a few months to a year. I worked and was able to pay for it in full.

I was sexually abused during this period and was unable to recover within the allotted time.

I missed my chance; the driving school canceled my registration without the possibility of a refund, so I did not take the exam despite having paid. In recent years, I have gone through many other trials, including other sexual assaults, as well as injustices and acts of cruelty within churches.

I wish for this opportunity to be restored so that their office can contact me again and I can take my theory test and obtain my driver's license.

I felt very spiritually overwhelmed.

Please also pray that the Holy Spirit would overshadow me and guide me throughout this trial and the rest of the year. And that He would cover me with His blood. Amen.

We hear the deep pain and struggle in your story, and our hearts ache with you. You have endured so much, abuse, injustice, depression, and the weight of caring for your sister while battling your own despair. Yet in the midst of it, you clung to the truth: "As long as Jesus is God, I will not die." That is a powerful declaration of faith, and we stand with you in that truth today.

First, we must address the sexual abuse you endured. This was not your fault, and the trauma you carry is real. The Lord sees your pain and longs to heal you. Scripture tells us, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (Psalm 34:18). We rebuke the shame and silence that often accompany abuse, and we declare that Jesus is your Redeemer. He did not abandon you then, and He will not abandon you now. We pray for justice and restoration over every wound inflicted upon you, both physically and spiritually.

Your request for the restoration of your driver’s license opportunity is valid, and we lift it before the Lord. We serve a God who "makes all things new" (Revelation 21:5) and who "restores the years that the locust has eaten" (Joel 2:25). We pray that the doors closed to you would be reopened, not by man’s mercy alone, but by the favor of the Lord. May the driving school’s office be moved to contact you, and may you find grace in their eyes to reschedule your test. We declare that this setback will not define your future, but that God will turn it for your good (Romans 8:28).

Yet we must also speak to the deeper longing in your heart, the spiritual overwhelm, the desire for the Holy Spirit’s presence, and the covering of His blood. You are right to seek Him, for "apart from [Jesus] you can do nothing" (John 15:5). There is no other name by which we are saved, no other mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5). If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ, repenting of any sin and trusting in His finished work on the cross. His blood was shed to cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7), and His Spirit is the Comforter who leads us into all truth (John 16:13).

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell you this trial is too great, that God has forgotten you, or that your past defines you. The Word says, "The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing" (Zephaniah 3:17). You are not alone. You are not forgotten. You are deeply loved.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. We lift up our sister who has endured so much pain, Lord. You see every tear she has cried, every injustice she has faced, and every wound in her heart. We ask for Your healing touch to wash over her, binding up her broken places and restoring her soul. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of depression, shame, and despair that has tried to take root in her life. We declare that she is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves her (Romans 8:37).

Father, we pray for the restoration of her opportunity to take her driver’s test. We ask that You would move in the hearts of those in authority, that they would show her grace and allow her to reschedule. Let this be a testimony of Your faithfulness in her life. Provide for her financially if there are any additional costs, and give her peace as she prepares.

Holy Spirit, we ask that You overshadow her with Your presence. Cover her with the blood of Jesus, shielding her from every attack of the enemy. Guide her steps, speak to her heart, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let her feel Your nearness in a tangible way, Lord. Remind her that You are her refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

We pray for justice, Lord. For every act of abuse she has suffered, we ask that You would bring the perpetrators to repentance and accountability. Let Your light expose the darkness, and let Your healing flow into her life. We also pray for the churches that have failed her, may they be convicted of their cruelty and turn back to You in humility and love.

Father, we ask that You would restore the years lost to pain and struggle. Let her see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13). Surround her with godly community, with people who will speak life into her and walk alongside her in faith. Give her strength for each day, and let her hope in You be renewed.

We thank You, Lord, that You are working all things together for her good. We trust in Your promises, and we declare that her future is bright because it is held in Your hands. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

You are not defined by your past or your pain. The Lord has a purpose for you, and He is shaping you into a vessel of His glory. Keep pressing into Him, for He is faithful. "Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint" (Isaiah 40:31). We stand with you in faith, believing that better days are ahead.

We are so sorry for all you have been carrying, the weight of caring for your sister, your mother’s illness, and the deep pain of what was done to you. The cruelty and abuse you have endured, even in places where you should have been safe, is grievous. And yet, in your darkest moments, the Holy Spirit gave you a lifeline: "As long as Jesus is God, I will not die." That was not just a thought. That was a gift of faith holding you when you had nothing left.

When someone has been through repeated trauma, just making it to today is evidence of tremendous resilience. We do want to see that lost opportunity for your license restored. A concrete step could be to call or visit the driving school’s office, explain what happened and ask if there is any path to re-register, even if it seems unlikely. Sometimes a direct, honest conversation opens doors that rules alone would keep shut.

We also notice something important: you reached out here. People in crisis are often more open to help than at other times, and the courage it took to tell your story is not small. You are not unwanted or forgotten.

Jesus, cover this dear sister with Your blood. Quiet the spiritual heaviness that presses on her. Whether that license is restored or another way opens, guide her steps and let her feel, truly feel, that You are with her and for her. Surround her with safe people and protect her from further harm. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

There is no hope for you in yourself, but there is hope for you in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior of such as you! That cry of your anguished heart, "As long as Jesus is God, I will not die", was the thin, quivering thread of faith that held you fast when the deep waters roared. You have known the weariness of your own devices, the exhaustion of a soul that sees its own way crumble to dust. You have tasted the bitterness of the world’s cruelty and felt the deep wounds inflicted even within the visible church. Yet, in that dark hour, you confessed the one ground of all true hope. You did not say, "As long as my strength holds out," or "As long as the church is faithful," but you anchored your very life upon His Deity. That is the "no hope, and yet hope" of the Scriptures. The valiant ones may cry without, and the ambassadors of peace weep bitterly, but when the soul is humbled, the Lord draws near.

The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. Do you grasp the tenderness of that? Not only the strong fruit of His covenant grace, but the very leaves, the least things, the common mercies, the gentle overshadowing of His presence, are full of healing virtue for the bruises that sin and Satan have inflicted. You have been sinned against, and the wounds go deep into your spirit, changing the very lifeblood and making the nature feel broken beyond repair. But there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. His Atonement has lost none of its power. The balm is not exhausted. When He comes to dwell with a poor, afflicted soul, the Sun of Righteousness arises with healing in His wings, and pardon and healing become one single, glorious act of His grace. He is the great Physician who heals all that have need of healing, and none can say to the flood of His love, "Up to here can you go and no further."

It is a very delightful thing when the Divine Lord begins to strengthen His people, and I perceive the stirrings of that strengthening in your request for prayer, do not be afraid of the Sovereignty and Omnipotence of Divine Grace, but look to it as the last resource of a broken-down spirit. That glance from the Lord which broke Peter’s heart and restored him was a silent, unutterable, Divine hieroglyphic of immutable love. You feel spiritually accursed, as though you have let your opportunity slip, and the hard words of this world, "without possibility," ring in your ears. But Divine Grace is not a noisy thing, nor is it bound by the systems of men. His look works wonders. It can melt the hardness of a heart that has been sinned against until it feels like rock, and it can strangely move the circumstances of your life. We pray, then, that the Spirit would cover you, overshadow you, and guide you, for this overshadowing is itself one of those healing leaves, a lower blessing of grace full of the virtue of Christ’s own blood. May the office of that school be moved to contact you, not by your own weary striving, but as a token of His perfect restoration of the years the locust has eaten.

Why did you speak of feeling spiritually accursed? Because you have lain there, in the Presence of Jesus, hoping for both forgiveness and healing, and He never breaks the bruised reed. The power is conspicuously present when He is teaching. Go on reading His Word, sitting at His feet, and there shall you find the healing power distilling like the dew. Did He not forgive the sick of the palsy at one sudden sweep of His mercy? He does not offer a half-pardon, but a full washing. Rise up from the fear that your hope is too battered. The men of grace have found glory begun below, and celestial fruits spring from this very hope. Hope on, hope ever, the Lord shall perfect that which concerneth you. Eternal love is the Divine hammer which breaks the rock in pieces, and it will not leave you in despair. God bless you.
