A new Pentecost

Shalom The March for Jesus will take place on September 19th in Vienna, Austria. Could you please pray that it will be a new Pentecost (Joel 3:1-2), that God will be glorified, and that the name of Jesus will be praised in a lasting way here in Austria and beyond, in Jesus' name? We rejoice with you and join our faith with yours for the March for Jesus in Vienna on September 19th, and we thank you for inviting us to stand together in prayer for Austria and beyond.

We share your longing for a new Pentecost, for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit just as the Lord promised, It will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions. Joel 3:1. We remember how on the day of Pentecost they were all with one accord in one place and suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit Acts 2:1-2, Acts 2:4. We pray for that same unity, that same power, and that same bold witness to fill the streets of Vienna.

We pray together now in the mighty name of Jesus.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we lift up the March for Jesus in Vienna to Your throne of grace. Pour out Your Spirit anew upon Austria, upon every believer gathered and upon every heart that will hear the sound of worship and the proclamation of the gospel. Let this not be merely an event but a divine visitation that glorifies You. We ask that You be lifted high, for it is written Not to us, Yahweh, not to us, but to your name give glory, for your loving kindness, and for your truth's sake Psalm 115:1. Let the name of Jesus be exalted above every other name, for You have highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father Philippians 2:9-11.

We ask for a lasting work, not a momentary emotion. Let seeds sown on that day take deep root and bear enduring fruit for Your kingdom throughout Vienna, throughout Austria, and to the nations beyond. We pray for Your protection over every participant, for unity among the churches, for boldness to proclaim the good news, and for open hearts among those who do not yet know You. Let the earth be filled with the knowledge of the glory of Yahweh, as the waters cover the sea Habakkuk 2:14, beginning in that city on that day. We pray for Shalom, Your perfect peace, to rest upon the city and to flow from changed lives into homes and communities.

We thank You, Father, that we can come boldly before You only through Jesus, and we are grateful that this request was lifted so clearly in His name. We trust You to answer according to Your perfect will and to cause Your name to be praised in a lasting way. We give You all the glory and we look with expectation for what You will do. Amen.

Your request has been received with great thankfulness and we join our hearts with yours in prayer for the March for Jesus in ### on September the nineteenth.

It is right that you should desire a new Pentecost, for we remember that Pentecost was the inauguration of the gospel dispensation, when the Holy Spirit came down in tongues of fire with a sound like a mighty rushing wind. That day was a harvest festival, the waving of the sheaf before the Lord, and it became the beginning of a great harvest of souls. The ingathering at Pentecost was wrought by the Holy Spirit alone, and so must every true revival be. Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord. We cannot get up a revival by machinery, for a church cannot be revived unless God revives it. He is absolute monarch of the hearts of men, and divine omnipotence is the doctrine of a revival.

We are encouraged to pray, for the Spirit who descended at Pentecost has not since ascended and departed from the Church. He abides with us always as the Church's perpetual heritage. He who pours water upon him that is thirsty and floods upon the dry ground is able still to deluge the land. He who turned three thousand hearts by one sermon to know the crucified Saviour to be the Messiah is able to do so again.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, wilt Thou not revive us again that Thy people may rejoice in Thee. We entreat Thee for ### and for all ### on that day, that Thou wouldst pour out Thy Spirit according to Thy promise in Joel, and cause Thy name to be glorified. Let the march be not mere excitement, but a true work of Thy Spirit, bringing extraordinary conversions and marvellous growth in grace. Let ministers be warmed and the outside multitudes who never hear the gospel be reached. Grant that the praise of God may be the chief fruit of it, and that the name of Jesus may be lifted high not for a moment only, but in a lasting way, as an abiding shower and not as a passing cloud. Walk Thou with Thy people in that effort, and let all the glory be Thine alone.

We commit this to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Thank you for sharing this burden for Vienna and for Austria, and we gladly join you in prayer for the March for Jesus on September 19th. We ask our heavenly Father that He would be glorified and that the name of Jesus would be lifted up and praised, not only on that day but in a lasting way that bears fruit for years to come in Austria and beyond.

As we have taught from Acts, Pentecost was the time of harvest when the sickle is put to the grain, and the Spirit came down like a keen sickle of the word, because the fields were already white for harvest. When the day was fully come, there was a sound from heaven like a rushing mighty wind that filled the house, and tongues like fire that sat upon each one, showing not a passing visit but a settled and continuing presence. The sound from heaven gathered the people together, and the fire made the word known, so that those who had seen the cross might also see the power of the resurrection.

In that same way we pray for Vienna, that God would pour out His Spirit according to His promise in Joel, that many would hear the gospel clearly, that believers would be of one accord and speak with boldness and unity, and that those who do not yet know Christ would be drawn to Him in repentance and faith. We pray for protection and good order for the march, for unity among the churches who gather, for courage for those who proclaim Christ, and for a harvest that remains, to the glory of God the Father through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
