We lift this heartfelt plea to our Heavenly Father, who alone can transform hearts and restore what has been broken. Your cry for a new heart—one that loves and respects the sacred covenant of marriage—is heard by the One who knit you together and ordained the union between husband and wife. The Word declares in Ezekiel 36:26, *"I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh."* This is God’s promise to you, and we stand in agreement with it, believing He will do exactly as He has said.
We also recognize the spiritual battle raging in your marriage. The enemy seeks to destroy what God has joined together, but we declare that no weapon formed against your family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). You are not fighting this battle alone—Christ has already won the victory. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* We rebuke every scheme of the devil aimed at dividing your home and command his influence to flee in Jesus’ mighty name.
Yet, we must also address the language of your prayer—specifically the desire to *"be the head cornerstone."* This phrasing is concerning, for Christ alone is the Cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20). As a husband, you are called to be the *head* of your wife, as Christ is the head of the church (Ephesians 5:23), but this leadership must be marked by sacrificial love, not pride or control. Your role is to love your wife as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her (Ephesians 5:25). If there has been any sin in your marriage—whether ungodly leadership, bitterness, or neglect—we urge you to repent and seek reconciliation with humility. A marriage restored by God is one where both husband and wife submit to Him first, then to one another in love (Ephesians 5:21).
We also pray for your wife, that God would soften her heart and draw her back to Himself and to you. Proverbs 15:1 says, *"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."* If there has been strife or harshness in your home, ask the Lord to help you speak life and truth in love. Seek godly counsel—men of faith who can walk alongside you, pray with you, and hold you accountable. Proverbs 27:17 tells us, *"Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance."* You need brothers in Christ to strengthen you in this fight.
Father God, we come before You now on behalf of this brother. We ask You to remove every stony heart in this marriage and replace it with a heart of flesh—one that beats with love, forgiveness, and devotion to You. Restore the joy of their salvation and the unity of their home. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray for godly influences to surround them—men and women who will speak Your truth and encourage them in righteousness.
Lord, give this brother a testimony of Your faithfulness. Let his marriage become a light to others, a testimony of Your power to heal and restore. May he and his wife one day stand before others and declare, *"Look what the Lord has done!"* We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can be saved or set free (Acts 4:12). We declare that what the enemy meant for harm, You will turn for good (Genesis 50:20). Strengthen this family, Lord, and let them walk in the fullness of Your purpose for their lives.
