A month "free"

Thanks Lord Jesus. So I've been free from this "addiction" for a month, no longer tied but I don't think anything else can be restored. I've buried it all too deep, destroyed my ambition and getting back to only the job I feel can do physically. The practice seems out of reach now as does the career I wanted. I'll never have the money to set up or go back overseas to do your bidding that you've put in my head. I can't see a way, it feels pointless. The medication worked but the "addiction" feeling seemed endless. Asking for one more chance. Thanks

We rejoice with you in the victory you’ve experienced over addiction for the past month, giving thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for His deliverance. Freedom in Him is not just a moment but a journey, and we stand with you in prayer as you continue to walk in it. The enemy would love nothing more than to convince you that restoration is impossible, that your calling is lost, and that hope is gone, but that is a lie. Scripture declares, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13 WEB). What the enemy meant for destruction, God can redeem and use for His glory.

Your heart is heavy with the weight of lost dreams, the practice you envisioned, the career you desired, the calling you believed was yours. But the Lord does not waste pain or setbacks. In Jeremiah 29:11 (WEB), He promises, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Even now, He is working in ways you cannot yet see. The fact that you still feel the tug of that overseas calling is not coincidence, it may be the Holy Spirit reminding you that His purposes for you have not changed, only the path.

We must also gently address the despair in your words. Saying things like "it feels pointless" or "I can’t see a way" gives the enemy a foothold. The Bible warns, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8 WEB). Instead, we must take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB). The medication may have helped with the physical struggle, but true freedom comes from renewing your mind in God’s Word and standing on His promises.

You mentioned feeling like you’ve buried your ambition too deep. But the God we serve is the God who raises the dead! In Ezekiel 37, He brought dry bones back to life, not because they had the strength in themselves, but because He breathed His Spirit into them. He can do the same for your dreams, your calling, and your future. The financial barriers you see are not obstacles to Him. Proverbs 16:3 (WEB) says, "Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed." If He has placed a calling on your life, He will provide the means, whether through unexpected provision, open doors, or even a complete redirecting of your path.

We also want to encourage you to seek godly counsel and community. Isolation is one of the enemy’s greatest tools. Proverbs 11:14 (WEB) tells us, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you, speak truth over you, and help you discern God’s next steps. If you’ve been hesitant to share your struggles with others, now is the time to break that silence. James 5:16 (WEB) says, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up our brother in Christ who has tasted the sweetness of Your deliverance but is struggling to see the path ahead. Lord, we thank You for the victory You’ve already given him over addiction. We declare that this freedom is not temporary but eternal because it is rooted in the finished work of Jesus Christ. We rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that seeks to convince him his calling is lost. Your Word says that You are the God who restores, who makes all things new. So we ask You to breathe new life into his dreams, his ambition, and his purpose.

Father, we ask You to remove the lies that tell him his best days are behind him. Replace them with the truth of Your Word, that You have plans for him, plans for good and not for harm, to give him a future and a hope. We pray for financial provision, Lord. If it is Your will for him to go overseas or to step into the career You’ve placed on his heart, we ask You to open doors that no man can shut. Provide the resources, the connections, and the opportunities he needs. If the path looks different than he expected, give him the faith to walk it with confidence, knowing You are leading him.

Lord, we ask You to heal the wounds that have made him feel unworthy or incapable. Remind him that his identity is not in his past mistakes or his current limitations, but in Christ Jesus. Strengthen his mind and his spirit to resist the enemy’s lies. Surround him with godly community, believers who will speak life into him, pray with him, and walk alongside him. And Father, we ask You to ignite a fresh fire in his heart for You. Let him not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, he will reap if he does not faint (Galatians 6:9 WEB).

We thank You, Lord, that You are a God who hears our prayers and moves on our behalf. We trust You to complete the good work You’ve begun in him. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Do not lose heart, dear brother. The same God who set you free from addiction is more than able to restore what has been lost, to redeem what has been broken, and to lead you into the future He has prepared for you. Keep your eyes on Him, and take one step at a time. He is faithful.

Oh, we’re so glad to join you in praying for this brother right now, his freedom is a miracle, and we can feel the weight of his heart as he wrestles with what feels like a dead end. There’s this quiet ache in his words, like he’s standing at the edge of a cliff, looking back at what was and not sure how to step forward. But let’s speak truth right into that space: the God who gave him this month of freedom is the same God who holds the future. His calling isn’t lost, it’s just waiting to be reclaimed, like a treasure buried and forgotten, only to be found again with joy.

We’re praying that he’d let go of the lie that his "best days" are behind him. Maybe the path looks different now, maybe the overseas dream isn’t the exact road He intended, but perhaps it’s the detour that leads to something even better. Let’s ask God to show him the next step, whether it’s a new skill to build, a door to walk through, or a season of rest before the next season unfolds. And Lord, we ask for His peace to guard his heart when doubt creeps in. Help him to see the small victories, the days he chooses obedience over despair, the moments he trusts You instead of his own strength.

We’re also lifting up his hands and his heart for the work ahead. If he’s feeling physically limited, let’s remind him that strength isn’t just in his body but in the Spirit who lives in him. Maybe the "job he can do physically" is the very thing God has prepared for him right now, something simpler, something sustainable, something that aligns with His timing. And if the career path feels out of reach, let’s pray for wisdom to see how God might redirect it. He doesn’t need money to set up a new life, He just needs a heart willing to follow.

Most of all, we’re praying for his mind. The enemy loves to whisper that his dreams are buried too deep, but we declare that God specializes in raising what’s dead. Let’s ask Him to soften his heart, to remind him that His plans aren’t canceled, they’re being written in real time. And Lord, surround him with people who will speak life into him, who will pray over him, who will remind him that he’s not alone in this journey.

We’re praying for a fresh outpouring of hope, for eyes to see the open doors he’s too tired to notice, and for hands to be strengthened to take the next step, no matter how small. In Jesus’ name, we believe he’s being prepared for something greater than he can imagine. Keep going, brother. You’re not forgotten.

We hear about "free will". And for the unsaved, that seems the case. They get what they want, according to their "will". But me or even some others I've seen on here, when I want a certain goal, circumstances "thwart" it. And no solution works. The unsaved don't seem to have this problem. They...
