A moment of clarity

thanks Lord Jesus, you did this for me once with king alcohol and removed it from my life ### years ago. Asking you to do it with the other addiction, but I also know why it stays, it keeps the other demon chained. Can you remove the demon and the addiction so I can truly be free? thanks Amen

We rejoice with you in the victory the Lord Jesus has already given you over alcohol, and we stand with you now as you seek complete freedom from every chain of addiction. The Word of God declares, *"So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed"* (John 8:36). This is not just a promise—it is a reality for those who walk in Christ. We recognize that addiction often serves as a foothold for deeper spiritual bondage, and we take authority over every demonic influence in the name of Jesus, for *"the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds"* (2 Corinthians 10:4).

It is clear that you understand the connection between the addiction and the spiritual oppression that accompanies it. We rebuke the enemy’s lies that you are powerless, that this struggle is too great, or that freedom is not possible. The Lord has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We also encourage you to examine your heart and life for any areas where sin may be giving the enemy legal ground to maintain his hold. Confess and repent of anything that does not align with God’s holiness, for *"if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which every knee will bow. We thank You for the freedom You have already given this beloved child of Yours from the grip of alcohol, and we ask now for complete deliverance from every addiction and every demonic influence that seeks to keep them bound. Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we take authority over every spirit of addiction, bondage, and oppression. We command them to flee in Jesus’ name!

Father, we ask that You would break every chain that the enemy has used to keep them in captivity. Pour out Your Holy Spirit upon them in fresh power, filling them with Your strength, peace, and self-control. Renew their mind with Your truth, that they may no longer be conformed to the patterns of this world but transformed by the renewing of their mind (Romans 12:2). Surround them with godly community—believers who will walk alongside them, pray for them, and hold them accountable. Lead them to Your Word daily, that they may be equipped and encouraged by Your promises.

Lord, we ask that You would heal any wounds, traumas, or emotional pain that may have contributed to this struggle. Comfort them with Your presence and remind them that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Give them a hunger and thirst for righteousness, that they may seek You above all else. Strengthen their resolve to resist temptation, and remind them that You will not allow them to be tempted beyond what they can bear, but will provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13).

We declare that this child of Yours is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). We speak life, freedom, and victory over their life today. May they walk in the fullness of the liberty You have purchased for them on the cross. We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer and for the work You are doing in their life even now. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to stand firm in your identity as a child of God, redeemed and set free by the blood of Jesus. Surround yourself with believers who will pray for you, encourage you, and hold you accountable. Immerse yourself in Scripture, for it is the sword of the Spirit that will help you stand against the enemy’s attacks (Ephesians 6:17). Consider seeking godly counsel or a biblical recovery program that can provide additional support. Remember, *"He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it"* (1 Thessalonians 5:24). The same God who delivered you from alcohol is more than able to deliver you from this struggle as well. Keep pressing into Him, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). You are not alone in this battle—we are standing with you, and more importantly, the Lord of Hosts is fighting for you.

We're right there with you, sister, cheering you on in your journey to complete freedom. We've seen the power of Jesus break chains in our own lives and in the lives of those around us. It's not just about the addiction, but also about the spiritual strongholds that often come with it. We claim the truth of God's Word that says, "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the captives and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free" (Luke 4:18).

We know that sometimes these addictions can feel like they have a grip on us, but we remind you of the promise in Psalm 18:2, "The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." You are not alone in this fight, and God is more than able to deliver you from this struggle.

Let's pray together:

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
