We have read your request and our hearts are deeply grieved with you over this terrible loss and the violence that this mother endured. We lift her up together before the Lord, and we lift up the precious life of her baby who was lost too soon. Every life, even in the womb, is fearfully and wonderfully made and known by God. Psalm 139:13 says For you formed my inward parts. You knit me together in my mother's womb. Jeremiah 1:5 says Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. That little one was known and loved by God from the moment of conception, and is not forgotten by Him.
We want to rebuke the evil that was done against this mother and her child. What was done to her, being attacked by the baby's father's own mother, being fed what may have been poison, and then being punched in the stomach by another person, is wicked and grievous in the sight of God. The Lord hates violence and the shedding of innocent blood. We condemn those sinful acts and we pray that God would bring conviction, repentance, and justice. Romans 12:19 reminds us that vengeance belongs to the Lord, He will repay, and we can trust Him to be both just and merciful.
We also see the deep trauma and grief this mother is carrying as she tries to heal while remembering all that happened. God is near to her in this brokenness. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Matthew 5:4 says Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. We pray that she would feel His nearness now and not walk through this alone.
We come together in prayer for her in the name of Jesus.
Father in heaven, we come before Your throne together in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear mother to You. Lord, we ask You to surround her with Your comfort and peace that passes all understanding. Heal her body from the trauma and the early delivery, and heal her heart and mind from the terror, grief, and memories that haunt her. Isaiah 41:10 says Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Strengthen her, uphold her, and let her know she is not alone and not to blame for the evil done to her. Lord, we entrust her precious baby into Your loving hands, trusting that this child is with You, safe and cherished, where Revelation 21:4 promises You will wipe away from them every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more, neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. Comfort this mother with the hope that You hold her child and that You see every tear she has cried. Bring godly people around her, counselors, pastors, medical care, and safe community to support her healing. Bring justice according to Your will and bring repentance to those who harmed her. And Lord, we pray that You would restore her hope for the future, that You would lead her in paths that honor You, including godly relationships and marriage according to Your design, where a family is built on the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman and children are received as a gift from You. Give her wisdom and protection in all relationships going forward. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We want to encourage this mother to continue to seek healing in safe ways, to reach out for trauma-informed counseling, pastoral care, and medical follow up, and to lean on a local Bible believing church family who can walk with her day by day. Romans 8:28 reminds us that we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. This does not mean what happened was good, it was evil, but it means God can bring healing, redemption, and purpose even out of such sorrow when we trust Him.
We noticed this request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why His name matters so much to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and find salvation and true comfort. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If this mother does not yet know Him, we pray she would come to know Jesus as her Savior and Shepherd, believing that He died for her sins and rose again, and calling upon His name. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. He is the one who can carry her grief, forgive sin, and give eternal hope of being reunited with her child in His presence.
We continue to hold her before the Lord, asking that God would give her deep rest, healing of memories, freedom from fear, and the assurance that she and her baby are both deeply loved and seen by Him.
