We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this family torn apart by divorce and now entangled in spiritual darkness. The pain of seeing parents walk away from God’s light into the shadows of the occult is deeply grievous, for Scripture warns us clearly: "For what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? What communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). The choices of these parents to pursue relationships with those practicing Wicca and other occultic paths are not merely unwise, they are dangerous, opening doors to deception and spiritual bondage. The enemy seeks to devour, and we must stand in the gap with boldness, declaring God’s truth over this family.
First, we rebuke the influence of the occult in the name of Jesus Christ. There is no power in witchcraft, divination, or any other form of darkness that can withstand the authority of the risen Savior. "The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God" (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). We command every ungodly soul tie, every generational curse, and every spirit of deception to break off this family right now, in Jesus’ name. We declare that the blood of Jesus covers these children and their parents, shielding them from further harm.
We pray for the parents, that their eyes would be opened to the snare they have walked into. The Word tells us, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8). Father, we ask that You would convict their hearts with Your Holy Spirit, revealing the emptiness of these false spiritual paths. Soften their hearts to repentance and draw them back to You. Let them see the love of Christ, which is greater than any deception the enemy offers. We pray they would turn away from these occultic relationships and seek godly counsel, breaking all ties with darkness.
For the children, we pray protection over their hearts and minds. The pain of watching their parents reject God’s ways is heavy, and the enemy would love to use this to harden them toward the Lord. But we declare that "no weapon that is formed against you will prevail" (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, surround them with godly influences, mentors, pastors, and friends who will point them to You. Strengthen their faith and help them to stand firm in Your truth, even when their parents do not. Let them know that their identity is found in Christ alone, not in the choices of their earthly parents.
We also pray for godly spouses to enter the lives of these parents, should they choose to remarry. May they seek partners who love You and walk in Your ways, for "he who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of the Lord" (Proverbs 18:22). Let their future relationships be built on the foundation of Christ, not on the shifting sands of spiritual deception.
Finally, we pray for healing in this family. Divorce leaves deep wounds, but You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). Restore what has been lost, mend what has been broken, and bring reconciliation where possible. Let this family experience the power of Your love, which is stronger than any darkness.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and the only name that has power over the forces of darkness. Amen.
