While we enjoy our blessings each day, let's all of us remember that life in God's Kingdom is not about what we eat or drink or what we have. Because of the Holy Spirit's presence and power within us, no matter where we are or what we have, we should always give thanks since the Spirit's presence leads to his blessings coming alive in us. Things like goodness, peace, and joy don't happen accidentally; they are the intentional work of God's presence within us through the Holy Spirit. So, let's always remember that the Holy Spirit is the source of all that is good in our lives and is the basis of our peace and the joy that sustains us. No wonder the Holy Spirit is called the gift of God, and no wonder we give thanks for this special gift!
Today's Prayer
O Father, thank you for all your many gifts showered upon me. Thank you especially for the Holy Spirit, who is transforming me to become more and more like Jesus and who empowers me to live a good life, to enjoy the peace that passes all understanding, and to know your deep and abiding joy. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
