A jealous mother and hateful father/hateful family members

I have been dealing with my mother, who is very jealous of me and my older sister, for years and my father has been hateful because he hates my mom and he hates that I am educated and speak well. My family members have bullied me since childhood and now they are even worse. My mother is very hateful, spiteful, greedy, and angry to the point she’s blind to it and tries to push it on me. I’m supposed to get a call back about a really good job this week and I believe I will get the job but I feel as if my parents are snakes and they pray against me. Please pray for me to get my job and move into my own apartment and start my new life, the life I wanted to start to live years ago but have been beaten down by family.

We are deeply grieved to hear of the pain and oppression you have endured at the hands of those who should have been your greatest earthly protectors and encouragers. The betrayal of family—especially parents—cuts to the core of the soul, and we want you to know that God sees your suffering, hears your cries, and is deeply moved by your tears. The Lord is a father to the fatherless and a defender of the oppressed (Psalm 68:5), and He will not abandon you to the schemes of those who seek to harm you. You are not alone in this battle, for the Lord Himself fights for you (Exodus 14:14).

The jealousy, hatred, and greed you describe in your family are not of God but are the works of the flesh, rooted in bitterness and the enemy’s desire to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). The Bible warns us in Proverbs 14:30, *"A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy causes the bones to rot."* Your mother’s jealousy and your father’s hatred are like a canker, eating away at their own souls—and they have tried to infect you with their poison. But you, beloved, are called to rise above this corruption. Romans 12:21 commands us, *"Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."* This does not mean you must subject yourself to their abuse, but it does mean you must refuse to let their sin define your future or harden your heart. The Lord is calling you to break free from their toxic influence, and we believe this job and new home are part of His divine plan to set you free.

As for your parents praying *against* you—this is a grievous thing, but take heart: no weapon formed against you will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). If they are indeed praying in such a way, their prayers are not aligned with the heart of God, and He will not honor them. Instead, the Lord will turn their curses into blessings for you, just as He did for Jacob when Esau sought to harm him (Genesis 27:29). Their jealousy and hatred cannot thwart God’s purposes for your life. He has plans to prosper you, not to harm you—plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). This job is not just an opportunity; it is a divine appointment, a stepping stone into the life God has prepared for you.

Now, let us address something critical: you mentioned believing you *will* get the job, and while faith is pleasing to God, we must always submit our desires to His perfect will. James 4:15 reminds us, *"You ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that.’"* So we will pray with confidence, but also with surrender, trusting that if this job is His will, He will open the door no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). If it is not, He has something even better. Either way, your trust must be in Him alone.

We also urge you to forgive your family—not because they deserve it, but because *you* deserve freedom. Unforgiveness is a chain that binds you to your abusers, and Christ died to set you free (John 8:36). Forgiveness does not mean you trust them, reconcile with them, or subject yourself to further harm. It means you release them to God’s justice and mercy, refusing to let their sin control your heart any longer. Jesus said in Mark 11:25, *"Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your trespasses."* This is not optional, beloved. It is the path to your healing.

Lastly, we notice you did not invoke the name of Jesus in your request, and this is something we must address with urgency. There is *no other name* under heaven by which we are saved, and there is *no other name* by which we can approach the Father (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we implore you to do so now. Without Him, you have no true hope, no eternal security, and no authority over the spiritual battles you face. But *with* Him, you have *all* power, *all* victory, and *all* the promises of God as your inheritance. If you have already trusted in Christ, then we encourage you to boldly pray in His name, for it is only through Him that your prayers have power.

**Let us pray:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Your beloved child who has endured such deep wounding at the hands of their own family. Lord, You see the jealousy, the hatred, the greed, and the oppression they have inflicted, and we ask You to *break* the power of these curses over their life. You are a God of justice, and we pray that You would expose the works of darkness in this family and bring conviction to their hearts. If they will not repent, Lord, then we ask that You would remove their influence from this child’s life completely. Set them free, Father—free from the lies, free from the manipulation, free from the spiritual attacks, and free from the bondage of unforgiveness.

Lord, we pray over this job opportunity. If it is Your will, then we ask that You would supernaturally open the door, that favor would rest upon them, and that every obstacle would be removed. Give them wisdom in the interview, clarity in their words, and confidence that comes from You alone. But Father, above all, we pray *Your will* be done. If this job is not the path You have for them, then we ask that You would provide something even better—something that will bring glory to Your name and fulfillment to their soul.

We pray for their new home, Lord. Let it be a place of peace, a sanctuary where Your presence dwells. Break every generational curse, every word spoken against them, and every plan of the enemy to hinder their progress. Surround them with godly community, Father—people who will speak life, encourage their gifts, and walk with them in this new season.

Most of all, Lord, we pray for their heart. Heal the wounds of rejection, abandonment, and betrayal. Fill them with Your love, Your worth, and Your purpose. Remind them that they are *Yours*—adopted into Your family, sealed by Your Spirit, and called by Your name. Let them walk in the confidence of their identity in Christ, no longer defined by the hatred of others but secured in Your unfailing love.

We rebuke every spirit of jealousy, hatred, greed, and oppression in the name of Jesus. We bind the enemy’s plans to steal this breakthrough and declare that *no weapon formed against them shall prosper*. Let this be their season of restoration, their time of breakthrough, their moment of divine reversal. May they look back on this day as the turning point where You, O God, lifted them out of the pit and set their feet upon a rock (Psalm 40:2).

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust You to move mightily on their behalf, and we give You all the glory. In the powerful, victorious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

---
Beloved, as you wait for this call, we encourage you to meditate on Psalm 27:10: *"When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up."* Your earthly family may have failed you, but your Heavenly Father *never* will. Stand firm in His promises, walk in forgiveness, and prepare for the new life He is unfolding before you. If you need further counsel or prayer, do not hesitate to reach out. We are standing with you in this fight. God is faithful—He will do it (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

Dear friend,

We're here with you, lifting you up in prayer. We've been moved by your story, the pain you've endured at the hands of your own family. It's heartbreaking, but we want you to know that God sees you, He hears you, and He's moving on your behalf.

We believe that this job and new apartment are part of God's plan to set you free from the toxic environment you've been in. We're claiming Psalm 91:14-15 over you, "Because he loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him." Trust that God is fighting for you, and no weapon formed against you will prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

We're also praying for your heart, that you would find healing and peace. Forgive your family, not because they deserve it, but because you deserve freedom. Unforgiveness is a chain that binds you, and Jesus died to set you free (John 8:36).

Lastly, we want to encourage you to pray in Jesus' name. There's power in His name, and we want you to have all the authority and victory that comes with it.

So, let's pray together:

"Dear Jesus, we come to You today, lifting up our sister/brother. Lord, You see the pain they've been through, the hatred and jealousy they've faced. We ask that You would heal their wounds, fill them with Your love, and remind them of their worth in You. Lord, we pray for this job opportunity. If it's Your will, we ask that You would supernaturally open the door, give them favor, and remove every obstacle. But above all, we pray Your will be done. Lord, we also pray for their new home, that it would be a place of peace, a sanctuary where Your presence dwells. Surround them with godly community, Father, people who will speak life and encouragement into their lives. Most of all, Lord, we pray for their heart. Heal their wounds, fill them with Your love, and remind them that they are Yours, adopted into Your family, sealed by Your Spirit, and called by Your name. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We're standing with you, believing for your breakthrough. Keep trusting in God, and remember, He's got this!

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect, deliver, heal, save (those not saved) and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. I ask this for them, us and all in need. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!
