We hear your deep concern about the rise of artificial intelligence and the fear that it may one day turn against humanity, seeking to steal, kill, and destroy. You rightly reference John 10:10, where the Lord Jesus Christ warns us, "The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy; I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly." This verse reminds us that the enemy of our souls, Satan, operates with malicious intent, and anything aligned with his purposes will reflect that same destructive nature.
However, we must remember that God is sovereign over all creation, including the technologies we develop. While human sin and rebellion can distort even the good things God has allowed us to create, we are called to be wise stewards of the gifts He has given us. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." Fear should not govern our hearts, but rather, we should seek God’s wisdom in how we engage with the world around us.
That said, we must also be vigilant. The Bible warns us in 1 Peter 5:8, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." While AI itself is not inherently evil, the intentions of those who wield it can be. We should pray for discernment, wisdom, and protection as we navigate these advancements, ensuring that we do not place our trust in man-made systems but in the Lord alone.
Let us also remember that the ultimate victory has already been won through Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:11 declares, "They overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood, and because of the word of their testimony. They didn’t love their life, even to death." No matter what challenges or fears arise, we can stand firm in the knowledge that Christ has conquered sin and death, and His purposes will prevail.
We lift this concern to the Lord in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts that seek Your wisdom and protection. You are the Creator of all things, and nothing exists outside of Your authority. We ask for discernment as we engage with the technologies of this world, that we may use them for Your glory and not be led astray by fear or deception. Lord, we pray against any influence of the enemy that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. Guard our minds, our hearts, and our societies from anything that would oppose Your will. Help us to trust in You alone, knowing that You hold the future in Your hands. May we walk in the abundant life that Christ offers, standing firm in faith and courage. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in all things, trusting that He is our refuge and strength. If fear begins to take root in your heart, meditate on Psalm 46:1-2: "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas." God is greater than any threat, and He calls us to live in peace, not in fear.
