We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, trusting in His perfect will and care for each of His children. It is beautiful to see your heart as a parent seeking God’s peace and well-being for your child, and we praise God that you have brought this request in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we can boldly approach the throne of grace.
The Scriptures remind us of God’s tender care for His people, especially in times of need. Jesus Himself said in Matthew 7:9-11, *"Or who is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!"* How much more does our Heavenly Father long to bless and comfort your son as you seek Him in faith?
We also recall the words of the psalmist in Psalm 4:8, *"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety."* May this be your son’s experience tonight—that he would rest in the peace that only God can provide, feeling His presence and comfort in both body and spirit.
Yet, as we pray, we also recognize that God’s will is not always for immediate physical comfort, but for our ultimate good and His glory. If there is sickness or distress in your son’s life, we pray that God would use even this to draw him closer to Himself. May your son—whether in health or in weakness—experience the nearness of Christ, who is our strength and our song. Let us also encourage you to continue to cover your son in prayer, teaching him to trust in the Lord in all things, for *"the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up"* (James 5:15).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for the gift of this child and for the love of this parent who seeks Your face on his behalf. Lord, we ask that You would grant Your peace and rest upon this son tonight. If it is Your will, we pray that You would restore his strength, ease any discomfort, and fill his heart with joy and gratitude. Let him feel Your presence as a tangible comfort, and may he wake refreshed and aware of Your goodness.
If there is any purpose in this season of unease, Lord, reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way. Draw him into a deeper relationship with You, and let him know that You are his refuge and strength. We also lift up this parent, asking that You would fill them with Your peace, knowing that You hear and answer prayer. Give them wisdom to guide their son in Your truth and to trust You in all things.
We pray all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer, who alone is worthy of all praise. Amen.
