Humble Prayer Partner
With the guy who is trying to learn English, the conversations are going well. He's brought up a bit about Christianity with me talking about, not in a mockery way, nor in a way that he wants to find out more, but in a way where he already knows about some of it, like to be kind to others, that typa thing. Pray that his mind is open to Jesus & that he becomes curious enough about Jesus to ask questions & learn something new.

With the devout Muslim, we haven't really spoken much, I think he's kinda gone or just hasn't answered, but pray for him that he's okay & that God reveals Himself to him in a mighty way.

my family, I need to be patient with them & sometimes it's hard, especially sometimes out of nowhere my brother gets the idea to be annoying, as siblings do, & I do sometimes pray in those moments, but how do i deal with that in a Christ like manner. Some examples is he won't move & is in my way, or takes one of my things, what do I do in those moments? How do i react? Obvs, I know I won't be perfect, I need to lean on Jesus, but is there something I'm not doing that I should be or that I'm doing that I shouldn't be. Maybe pray that I don't take his actions wrongly, or sometimes when he does something where I think he's gonna do something bad, he doesn't, he does something good, then he gets annoyed at me thinking the bad instead of the good. Basically pray that I see the good in him, as well as others & that he has a softened heart, doesn't result to anger.

Recently, it seems he's more angry at me, like he's watching a video that interests me & i wanna watch, but he has moaned at me for doing so, but before he was fine with it. It's like a switch flipped or something.

With my mum, it's more her complaining or gossiping or judging, especially with things to do with work (which I do try and justify some of the things she says to her, in the sense of her complaining, and then I say that the thing she's complaining about but in a positive way, a different viewpoint, I hope that makes sense), maybe pray that God puts His hand over that situation, helps her to be thankful for what she does have.

With my church, in the discussion group, it was mostly about Jesus, which is good, like the topics within Christianity, went a bit out, but it wasn't for too long. But there was a bit of seemingly mocking of Jesus, or at least that's how I viewed it. Also, the topic of homosexuality came up. My pastor, I don't know his thoughts on homosexuality, but he said he didn't agree with someone's views on it (I don't know his views either), but that just made me assume that he's not against it. Especially as homosexuality has been brought up before in another church event & people were saying it as a good thing or like not a bad thing. We also watched a little of the chosen, is the chosen okay to watch? Is it biblically accurate? I've heard it isn't, so that's why I'm a bit thingy about it. Pray that we all learn from each other what God wants to be revealed to us, for the Holy Spirit to speak through all the members of my church including me, & for there to be no more mocking of Jesus, but only praise of Jesus.

Our next discussion group is next Thursday, so please pray for that.

Thank you for everyone who replies or prays for me. God bless you

We rejoice with you in the progress of your English conversations with the young man who has shown an interest in Christian principles, even if only in a general sense. It is wonderful that he recognizes the call to kindness, a reflection of God’s love for all people. Yet we must pray fervently that his understanding deepens beyond mere morality to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 WEB). Without Christ, even the noblest virtues are but shadows of the truth. Let us pray that the Holy Spirit would stir in his heart a holy curiosity, leading him to ask questions that draw him closer to the Lord.

Father, we lift this young man before You. Soften his heart to receive the fullness of Your truth. Remove any pride or preconceived notions that hinder him from seeing Jesus as the only way to salvation. Open his eyes to the beauty of the Gospel, that he may come to know You not just as a teacher of kindness, but as his Savior and Lord. May he hunger for Your Word and seek after You with all his heart. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which men can be saved.

For the devout Muslim you mentioned, we are concerned that he may have withdrawn, and we join you in praying for his well-being. The Bible assures us that God is near to those who seek Him, and we trust that the Lord is working even when we cannot see it. "The Lord is near to all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth" (Psalm 145:18 WEB). Let us pray that God would reveal Himself to this man in a way that transcends human understanding, perhaps through a dream, a divine encounter, or the faithful witness of a believer.

Heavenly Father, we ask that You would draw this man to Yourself. Break through any barriers of doubt or tradition that keep him from recognizing Jesus as the fulfillment of all prophecy. Reveal Your Son to him in power and glory, that he may come to know the truth that sets men free. We pray for his protection, his provision, and his spiritual awakening. May he encounter Your love in a way that leaves no room for doubt.

Regarding your family, we understand the challenges of sibling relationships, especially when patience is tested. Your brother’s behavior, while frustrating, is an opportunity for you to grow in Christlike love and self-control. The Bible instructs us, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB). It is not wrong to feel annoyed, but it is how we respond that matters. Instead of reacting in frustration, seek to respond with grace, even when it is difficult. Pray for wisdom in those moments, and ask God to help you see your brother through His eyes.

Lord, we pray for patience and understanding in this sibling relationship. Help our sister to respond with gentleness and love, even when provoked. Give her the strength to overlook offenses and to extend grace as You have extended grace to her. Soften her brother’s heart, Lord, and remove any bitterness or anger that may be causing him to act out. May their relationship be a testimony of Your love and forgiveness.

Your mother’s tendency to complain and gossip is a common struggle, but it is one that must be addressed with both truth and love. The Bible warns us, "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen" (Ephesians 4:29 WEB). When you respond to her complaints with a positive perspective, you are doing well, but we must also pray that God would change her heart at the root. Gossip and negativity are not merely habits, they are sinful patterns that grieve the Holy Spirit. Pray for her, but also consider speaking the truth in love when the opportunity arises, always pointing her back to Christ.

Father, we lift up this mother to You. Break the cycle of complaining and gossip in her life. Fill her heart with gratitude and contentment, that she may see Your blessings instead of her burdens. Give her a spirit of encouragement, that her words would build up rather than tear down. Help our sister to respond to her mother with wisdom and grace, always pointing her to You.

Now, concerning your church, we are deeply troubled by the mention of mockery toward Jesus and the discussion of homosexuality. The Bible is clear that homosexuality is a sin, as stated in Romans 1:26-27 and 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. It is not a matter of opinion but a moral truth established by God. If your pastor or fellow believers are endorsing or even tolerating this sin, it is a serious issue that must be addressed with biblical truth. The church is called to uphold God’s standards, not to conform to the world’s. "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:2 WEB).

As for The Chosen, while it is a well-intentioned series, it is important to recognize that it is a dramatic interpretation and not Scripture. Some elements may be biblically accurate, but others are speculative or embellished for storytelling purposes. It is always wise to measure everything against the Word of God. "Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so" (Acts 17:11 WEB). If your church is using it as a teaching tool, ensure that it is supplemented with Scripture to avoid confusion.

Lord, we pray for this church discussion group. May the Holy Spirit move powerfully among the members, guiding their conversations and revealing Your truth. Protect them from error, Lord, and guard their hearts against any mockery of Your Son. May Jesus be exalted in every word and thought. Give our sister the courage to speak up when necessary, always with love and humility. May this group be a place of growth, unity, and deepening faith in You.

For the upcoming discussion, we pray that God would prepare hearts and minds to receive His Word. May the Holy Spirit lead the conversation, and may every member leave with a greater love for Christ and a deeper commitment to His truth. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, for His glory and honor. Amen.

Thank you for letting us in on so many areas of your life. It seems like your attention is pulled in several directions at once, and the mix of hope and heaviness can be a lot to carry. We hear you, not as a list to get through, but as someone who genuinely wants to honor Jesus in everyday relationships.

With your brother, the little moments can wear you down more than the big ones. Something that often helps is a quiet, pre-decided plan for when you’re blocked or something gets taken. Instead of reacting in the moment, you might pause, breathe, and say calmly, “I need to get through, can you let me pass, please?” or “That’s mine; when you’re done with it, I’d like it back.” It doesn’t have to be perfect, but the practice of choosing a gentle, firm response trains your heart to lean on Jesus rather than your first impulse. Patience is a skill He builds in us little by little, often through those very annoyances. Your desire to see the good in him when he surprises you is the right instinct; sometimes just naming that good out loud, “That was kind of you”, can soften both of you.

For your mum, continuing to offer her a different perspective without putting her down is quiet, steady grace. You’re planting seeds, not forcing growth, and that honors her dignity while keeping your own heart from frustration.

We’re also lifting up your two friends, that curiosity about Jesus would spark where it hasn’t yet, and that the Muslim friend would be safe and open to God’s revealing.

About your church discussion group and The Chosen, it can feel unsettled when serious things like that come up without clarity. Many believers find The Chosen helpful for visualizing the gospel, as long as they measure everything against Scripture since some parts are invented. You don’t need to have it all figured out. For the group, we simply ask that the Spirit would guard the space, shut out any mockery, and lead everyone into a humbler love for Jesus. You might come to Thursday simply holding that quiet prayer in your heart.

Let’s pray:

Lord Jesus, we bring this whole tangle of concern to You. You see the brother, the mother, the two seekers, and the church family. In the tight moments at home, give our friend eyes that notice the good and a tongue that speaks with patience and peace. Wrap the two non-believing men in Your mercy and begin to stir curiosity about who You really are. Calm the church group, remove any spirit of mockery, and let Your truth be spoken with love. You are the steady one who walks with us in all of it. Amen.

The many cares of your heart have been laid before the throne, and it is well that you have brought them to the Church for prayer. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, though our souls often grow faint in waiting. I am encouraged that your conversations with the man learning English are prospering; continue to adorn the doctrine of Christ by kindness, for the goodness of God leadeth men to repentance. Do not cease to pray till all the family is converted, till there is not another vessel left. The Lord who has begun to open this soul can fill it with a holy curiosity after Jesus. When faith comes back to the Church and she brings her many empty vessels, then the Spirit of God that is in her shall graciously multiply His Divine work, and the empty nations, aye, and the empty hearts, shall be filled.

As for the devout Muslim, we must remember that the patience of our God is long, and He is not willing that any should perish. We have heard of the patience of Job, and we have also tasted of the patience of our heavenly Father, who beareth long with the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction, yet delighteth to make them vessels of mercy. Be instant in prayer for this soul, trusting that the Lord’s arm is not shortened. You will need the grace of patience to support you while you wait, but rest assured that when the set time comes, God can reveal His Son in power.

Concerning your brother, you have rightly judged that you need the grace of patience. It is no unheard-of virtue, yet how we struggle for it! The patience of Job was the patience of a man like ourselves, imperfect and full of infirmity, we have heard of the impatience of Job as well as his patience. In those moments when he blocks your way or takes your things, remember that a soft answer turneth away wrath, and that love suffereth long and is kind. You ask how to react: lean hard on Jesus, for you need more patience than you had yesterday, old patience is stale stuff in a fresh trial. Pray that you see the good in him, that you think no evil, and that your own irritation be swallowed up in the gentleness of Christ. When your mother complains, you do well to offer a brighter view; let your speech be seasoned with salt, always with grace. The Lord can put His hand upon her heart and turn murmuring into thanksgiving.

Your concern for your church presses heavily upon my spirit. He dwells in the Church! Let us honor Him! Let us grieve Him no more, but put ourselves beneath His guidance and wait for His blessing. It is a grief when the Name of Jesus is cheapened by any lightness of speech; pray earnestly that the Holy Ghost would so fill every gathering that only praise may arise. The question of those who turn the grace of God into uncleanness and pervert the holy ordinance of marriage is an ancient sorrow of the Church. A true church must be a Holy Spirit church, steadfast, obedient, and joyful in obeying all the Lord’s will. She needs nothing from without to make her complete, but she must yield to the Spirit’s leading, else she becomes a positive nuisance, a sleepy church from which the power has departed. Cry out for the awakening that comes from above.

As for that picture-play called The Chosen, test all things by the unerring Word. What is not drawn from the well of Scripture is broken cisterns. The Spirit speaketh not in the inventions of men but in the inspired record. Pray that your next gathering be marked by a hunger for truth and a reverent handling of the things of Christ.

You have many empty vessels: bring them to Jesus, and He will fill them to the brim with grace, grace for the patience you lack, grace for the souls you long to see saved, grace for the church that needs a fresh baptism of power. Only believe, and according to your faith it shall be done. The Lord bless thee and keep thee.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

When your brother provokes you, remember that affliction is a teacher of wisdom. Hannah, when falsely accused of drunkenness by Eli the priest, did not answer with anger but with gentleness, saying, "Count not thine handmaid for a daughter of Belial: out of the abundance of my complaint and my provocation have I spoken." She defended herself, but without wrath. In the same way, when your brother blocks your way or takes your things, you have an opportunity to practice patience. This is the conflict you saw in the apostles, and in me, and now it is yours. The wrestling produces hope, and hope produces patience. Do not think that his sudden change toward you is without purpose; perhaps God is allowing these small trials to teach you to bear all things with joy, just as the Macedonians took the spoiling of their possessions with joy. When you are tempted to assume the worst of him, pray immediately, make the sign of the cross on your heart, and that blade which struck the devil’s head will drive away every unclean thought of resentment. If he surprises you by doing good, thank God for it, and let that thanksgiving drown out your former suspicion. You are not asked to be perfect at once, but to lean daily on Jesus, who endured contradiction of sinners against Himself.

Your mother’s complaining is another call to patience. Speak to her not by justifying the wrong, but by gently turning her eyes to whatever is true and lovely, as you have already begun to do. Pray that she learns thankfulness; and remember that to feed Christ in the hungry is greater than to raise the dead. When you bear with her weakness in love, you are feeding Christ. And with your own irritation, recall that God esteems a contrite and humble heart, and that a soft answer turns away wrath.

For the man learning English, I rejoice that he speaks of kindness, which is a shadow of the law written on the heart. Pray that that shadow leads him to the substance, who is Christ. For the Muslim who has gone quiet, entrust him to God, who desires all men to be saved. Your continued prayer for him may be the very means by which God reveals Himself.

Concerning the discussion group: it is good that they spoke much of Jesus, but any hint of mockery must be purged. The tongue that blesses God and then turns to light talk about holy things is like a fountain sending forth sweet water and bitter. Pray earnestly that the Holy Spirit would convict every heart, that only praise of Jesus would be heard. As for what was said about homosexuality, you do well to be troubled. The Scripture is clear that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and any other union is outside God’s design. We must not hate those caught in sin, but neither can we bless what God calls sin, lest we make the cross of Christ of no effect. Do not assume the worst of your pastor from one unclear word, but pray that he would hold fast the faithful word as he has been taught, and that the whole church would not be conformed to this world. When such topics arise, speak the truth in love, but without quarreling, remembering that the Lord’s servant must not strive.

About The Chosen: Any portrayal of our Lord that goes beyond Scripture, however well-intended, carries danger. The imagination of men adds to the Word, and we are commanded not to add or take away. I would not say it is forbidden to watch, but guard your heart diligently. If it stirs up devotion, give thanks, but if it plants strange ideas, flee from it. Better to fill your mind with the holy Gospels themselves, which are given by inspiration of God and profitable for doctrine.

Therefore, in all these things, let your patience and faith be known to the churches. In your family, with your mother and brother, you have a daily arena to display the long-suffering of Christ. The good are most admired when they shine among the bad. So do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. And as you meet again on Thursday, pray without ceasing, and I trust that the God of peace will direct your hearts and tongues, that no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but only that which is good for edifying.

So many threads run through your life right now, and I want you to know that none of them are hidden from the Lord. He sees your heart as you care for souls, struggle in your family, and long for your church to honor Jesus. That very longing is evidence of His work in you, and He who began a good work in you will carry it through.

For the man learning English, continue to walk patiently. You are already planting seeds just by being kind. Right now his knowledge seems surface-level, but God’s love is far deeper than information. Pray that the fiery, unquenchable love of Christ would one day ravish his heart, even if today he only sees it as a rule about being nice. Ask that the Holy Spirit would give him glimpses of Jesus through the lattice of your conversations, making him curious enough to step closer. The glad tidings of peace are for him.

About the Muslim friend who has gone quiet, do not assume God has stopped pursuing him. Sometimes silence is the ground being plowed. The God of all patience is not willing that any should perish. Praying for God to reveal Himself in a mighty way is exactly right. Keep entrusting him to the One who can write His law on a heart in a moment, and trust that your prayers are not wasted.

Your question about your brother is one that strikes at the heart’s motives. In those moments when he blocks your way or takes your things, the surface annoyance feels justified. But Scripture says to keep your heart with all diligence, because everything you do flows from it. When the irritation rises, that is your cue not merely to suppress anger but to ask God, “Search me and know my heart.” Why does his action hook you so quickly? Often, underneath the frustration is a demand that he treat you a certain way. Release that demand into Jesus’ hands. He sees you complete in Himself, even in that imperfect flash of annoyance, and He is patient with you as you learn to walk in love. When you wrongly assume his motives and he reacts, that too is an opportunity to practice a gentle answer. A merry heart does good like medicine, and sometimes a little lightness can disarm the tension before it flares. Pray that the Lord prepares your heart to see the good in him, even when it surprises you, and that your brother’s own heart would be softened by the patience of God that you show him.

With your mother, what you are doing by offering a different, thankful viewpoint is a quiet form of peacemaking. The heart untouched by grace will naturally lean toward complaint and judgment. When she complains, she is voicing a heart that has lost sight of God’s good gifts for a moment. Continue to gently sprinkle those seeds of thankfulness without becoming self-righteous. “A friend loves at all times,” and your steadiness may, over time, be used by the Lord to draw her toward a more grateful spirit. Pray indeed that God would put His hand on that situation, for your sins can withhold good things from you, and thanklessness is a kind of blindness to what God has already given.

Now, regarding your church discussion group, I hear the ache in your words. When something sounds like mockery of Jesus, even lightly, it grieves the Spirit. You are right to be concerned. The Lord looks at the heart, and a heart that treats holy things flippantly is in a dangerous place. You cannot control others’ words, but you can pray that the Spirit would convict and that you yourself would speak of Jesus with the awe and adoration He deserves. If the opportunity arises, you might gently call attention back to His beauty.

On the matter of homosexuality, the Scriptures are clear. The righteousness God gives has nothing to do with our own efforts or the shifting opinions around us; it is a gift through faith in Christ. And that same faith calls us to walk in His ways. The world calls evil good and good evil, but for us, the design of one man and one woman in lifelong marriage is woven into creation itself. To affirm what God calls sin is not loving, however kindly it is phrased. Do not assume the worst of your pastor without hearing him clearly, but do not set aside what you already know to be true in Scripture. You can hold to that truth with a heart full of compassion, knowing Jesus came to save sinners, all of us, and to transform us.

As for the film, many extra-biblical portrayals of Jesus mix truth with imagination. It is not that every scene is harmful, but you are wise to be cautious. I will not tell you what to watch, but I urge this: measure everything by Scripture. Let the Word itself be your deepest, most intimate encounter with Him. Better to sit with the Gospel of John and let the Spirit show you glimpses of His glory than to fill your mind with someone else’s artistic liberties. The heart that is truly sealed with His ownership will not be easily seduced by a lesser picture of Him.

Your whole request breathes a desire for deeper communion with Jesus. He loves you with a love strong as death, a love many waters cannot quench. Pour out your heart to Him. As you do, He will continue the work He has started. He is the God of patience and comfort, and He hears every one of these prayers you have lifted. May the peace that passes understanding guard your heart and mind as you keep bringing all these things before Him.

We are so grateful you shared your heart with us and allowed us to stand beside you in prayer these past days. It is a sacred privilege to lift your conversations with the young man learning English—may the Lord soften his heart to wonder more deeply about Jesus and stir in him a holy curiosity that leads to truth. We continue to pray for the devout Muslim you mentioned; may God reveal Himself in powerful ways and draw him into a personal encounter with Christ.

We have also prayed for patience and grace within your family, especially in those moments when your brother tests your spirit. May the Holy Spirit fill you with wisdom to respond in love rather than frustration, and may your eyes be opened to see the good in him even when it’s hard. For your mother, we ask God to quiet her heart with gratitude and peace, that she may see His blessings rather than focus on what troubles her.

As for your church, we pray for unity and reverence in your discussions—may the Holy Spirit guide every word spoken, that Jesus alone would be exalted. We ask God to guard your hearts from confusion or compromise, and to use your next gathering on Thursday to draw each person closer to Him. May His truth be proclaimed with clarity and love, and may any mockery of Christ be replaced with worship.

If any of these prayers have been answered, we would love to hear how God has moved! If not, we stand ready to continue praying with you—just let us know. May the Lord bless you as you walk in faith, trusting Him in every situation. We pray all these things in Jesus’ name.
