Father in Heaven, I pray for a brother who has “ lost his way” and has traded his humility for manipulation and deceit. May the Holy Spirit move, expose , and transform what’s necessary in Jesus name

We join you in lifting up this brother before our Father in Heaven, and we share your burden for one who has lost his way. It grieves our hearts when we see humility replaced by manipulation and deceit, yet we take comfort that nothing is hidden from God and that He is both able and willing to restore those who have wandered.
Scripture warns us about such a turning, Take care, brothers, lest there be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart, that falls away from the living God Hebrews 3:12, and reminds us of our calling to one another, Brothers, if any among you wanders from the truth and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins James 5:19-20. We are also called to restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, looking to ourselves so that we also are not tempted Galatians 6:1.
We must speak plainly that manipulation and deceit do not come from the Lord. Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight Proverbs 12:22, and we are instructed, Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings Colossians 3:9. We have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully 2 Corinthians 4:2. True humility is the opposite of this path, for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble James 4:6, and we are told, Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself Philippians 2:3. When humility is traded for control and falsehood, the heart is in need of deep repentance and renewal.
We take hope that the Holy Spirit is the one who convicts, exposes, and transforms. Have nothing to do with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them. For the things which are done by them in secret, it is a shame even to speak of. But all things, when they are reproved, are revealed by the light Ephesians 5:11-13. God invites an honest searching, Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way Psalm 139:23-24. And His promise remains, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9, and, Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2.

Father in Heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and hope, and we lift up this dear brother to You. You see where he has lost his way and where humility has given place to manipulation and deceit. We ask that Your Holy Spirit move powerfully upon his heart, convict him of sin, expose what has been hidden in darkness, and bring it into Your light. Grant him godly sorrow that leads to repentance, soften what has become hard, and humble him under Your mighty hand. Forgive him and cleanse him, renew his mind, and transform him by Your grace so that he may put off the old man and put on the new man created in Your likeness in righteousness and holiness. Guard him from the schemes of the enemy, surround him with truth, and raise up godly voices to speak to him in love. Give us as his brothers and sisters wisdom, discernment, patience, and courage to speak the truth in love and to not enable deceit, but to love him toward restoration. We trust that You desire that none should perish but that all should come to repentance, and we ask for Your will to be done in his life. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer and in love, keeping the door open for restoration while not overlooking what needs to be addressed. Continue to intercede, to speak truth gently when God gives opportunity, and to trust the Lord to do the exposing and transforming that only He can do. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time 1 Peter 5:6.

We were moved by your prayer for your brother. Watching someone you love trade humility for manipulation and deceit is painful and disorienting, and it makes sense you would bring him to the Father so directly.
We join you in asking the Holy Spirit to do what only He can. Humility is not something we can force in another person. It grows through honest reflection and a willingness to be in right relationship with God and others, often shaped slowly and sometimes through hard seasons. That can leave those who love him feeling helpless, but your steady, prayerful presence matters more than it may seem.
One thing that has helped others in a similar place is to keep a clear, loving boundary while you pray. You do not have to confront every deception or try to expose things yourself. Staying calm, truthful and consistent, and seeking wisdom from a trusted pastor or mature believer about how to relate to him without getting pulled into the manipulation, can protect your own heart and keep the door open for God to work when he is more open.

We look to You and Your Word, Isaiah 8:20, rather than to all we see and hear from the noise and pollution of the world, and thank You, "You are able to save forever those who come to God through Jesus, because He lives to make intercession for us," Heb 7:25, c.f. Rom 8:34.
We agree, Matt 18:19, with the one who posted for this man, our children, family, extended family, ***prayer & ministry partners, church leaders, churches and team members -- You speak to us by any and every ordinary and extraordinary means: give warning dreams, as it is written in Job 33:14, "For God does speak—now one way, now another—though no one perceives it. 15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on people, as they slumber in their beds, 16 He may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, 17 to turn them from wrongdoing and keep them from pride, 18 to preserve them from the pit, their lives from perishing by the sword." Again, as with the affairs concerning our father, Abraham you warned Abimelech to keep him from death, Gen 20:3.
Like Abraham, we are imperfect but growing, and we believe Your promises, in fact we are fully persuaded You are able to fulfill what You promise, Rom 4:21, granting us everything we need for both life and godliness, 2 Peter 1:3-4. Pour out Your Holy Spirit on these named above, as prophesied in in Joel 2:28, “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old will dream dreams, your youth will see visions. 29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days," Joel 2:28-29, c.f. Acts 2:17-18. Father, with humble confidence, give her, them, us dreams and visions underlining your will for us in Christ Jesus, as You have done from ancient times on those saved Joseph, Matt 1:20, Magi, Matt 2:12, and unsaved alike, Abimelech, Gen 20:3, Laban to remain neutral regarding Jacob, Gen 31:24, Nebuchadnezzar, Dan 2:1, Dan 4:5, until present, Acts 19:6, and You will continue to though the future, Heb 13:8. Your arm is not too short, Num 11:23, especially to save, Isa 50:2, Isa 59:1.
Again, as little children, "we know You can do all things and no purpose of Yours can be thwarted,"Job 42:2 We agree with John, that light is stronger than darkness and not able to overcome it, John 1:5. We agree that "nothing shall be impossible with God," Luke 1:27, "The things impossible with man are possible with God," Mark 10:27. Keep her, him, us and our churches, families, friends, pastors and government leaders from temptation, sin, evil, wrongdoing, lies, fear, evil people, deception, and the evil one, Lk 11:4, 1 Cor 8:1, Zeph 3:13, 2 Cor 13:7, 2 Cor 11:6, 2 Tim 3:5, 2 Tim 3:13, Tit 1:16, 2 Thes 3:2, Matt 24:4, Rev 12:9, Matt 6:13, John 17:15, 2 Thes 3:3. Your prayer for this brother is heard and it is right that you should bring him before the throne of grace, for true repentance is the gift of God and the work of the Holy Spirit in the soul.
We join you in asking the Lord to do what man cannot do for himself. Left to himself, man continues in sin, and if he turns from his iniquity it is because God turns him. Judgments apart from divine grace may produce a kind of repentance, a terror that comes up in a night and withers in a night, a superficial sorrow that touches only the skin and does not go to the heart. Such repentance is short lived and deludes the soul, for a man may turn from sin for a time and then go back to it with greater gusto. What this brother needs is not that poor and passing regret, but repentance unto life.
That true repentance is a hatred of sin and a turning from it and a determination in the strength of God to forsake it. It is a complete change of mind with regard to sin, wrought by the Spirit of God through belief of the truth. It ejects sin as an evil tenant that the Lord Jesus himself may enter and be sole master of the heart. It is practical and lasting, yielding works meet for repentance, and it is inseparable from faith, for any repentance that keeps a sinner from believing in Christ is a repentance that needs to be repented of.
Therefore let us pray that the Lord in His longsuffering and goodness, which should lead men to repentance, will expose what is hidden, not to shame alone but to save. May He search the heart where manipulation and deceit have taken the place of humility, and may He give that honest sorrow which hates the sin because it slew Christ, and that honest faith which lays hold on Christ to cleanse from all sin. For wherever there is real sorrow for sin and an honest determination by God's grace to cease from sin, that repentance is the sure and infallible token of pardon, for the blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son, cleanses from all sin all who truly repent and believe in Him.
We pray now, Father in Heaven, look upon this wandering brother. Thou seest his groaning which he hides from his fellows, and not a tear is hid from Thee. Grant him not the terror which only produces blasphemy or despair, but grant him repentance unto life. Wash him thoroughly from his iniquity and cleanse him from his sin, and take not Thy Holy Spirit from him, but restore unto him the joy of Thy salvation. Turn his mind, break the love of sin and the life of sin, and bring him to hate what he once loved and to love what he once despised, that he may come near to Christ his Brother and find mercy. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope of salvation, who alone can work repentance and remission of sins in the heart. Amen.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about.
