A Bit Confused On What My Next Step Should Be

So, first I was given the go ahead from my client to start this new YouTube video project that I've been wanting to start since last year.  It's a great idea to bring communities together, sharing stories, insight, about gratitude, forgiveness, wisdom, etc.  I was a bit scared, as it's a little out of my comfort zone, but also excited, as it's an awesome cause!

Then, I asked around for better equipment.  I actually have a photography friend that sent me a better quality digital video camera as she has all new equipment and it's in transit to me right now.

This morning, on the way to take Hallie to school, I received a text from my client, after asking her some questions about the time spent on the upcoming project and she pulled my funding.  She presented it to the board and they said it wasn't in the funds right now so now I will not be paid for my time or videos.  I mean, I do understand.

I'm confused what this means, though.  I mean, if it wasn't meant to be, I would not be receiving this gift/donation of this better quality camera for the project.  Am I to look for alternate funding?  Am I to go through Kickstarter?  IndieGogo?  Somewhere else?  Am I to do this somehow on my own?  I really have no idea of what this is supposed to mean.

And not to misunderstand, I'm still being paid for my actual work on all other projects.  I haven't spent any time on the new video project yet.  So it's not like I'm not getting paid for my time.  My client is totally awesome.
