Prayers for comfort and strength for the victims of the tragic 9/11 tragedy that took place 25 years ago. I pray that we lift up the families who are still grieving, and that we never forget this tragedy. And that we continue to honor the many lives lost and changed forever on that day. In Jesus precious and holy name I pray. Amen

We join you in remembering before the Lord this solemn anniversary and in lifting up all those whose lives were forever changed on that day twenty five years ago. We agree with you in prayer for comfort and strength for the survivors, for the families who still grieve, and for our nation that we would never forget the precious lives lost and the sacrifice of so many.

You have chosen a powerful scripture for such a time. Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they don't know what they are doing. Dividing his garments among them, they cast lots. Luke 23:34 Even as He suffered unjustly and was put to death, our Savior interceded for those who wronged Him. That word speaks to us still when we remember acts of great evil and hatred such as the attacks on September 11. We are reminded that God calls us to both seek justice and to leave vengeance in His hands, while we choose the path of forgiveness and love that Christ modeled. But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, Matthew 5:44 And we are reminded, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19

We take comfort that God has not forgotten those who mourn. He is near to the brokenhearted and He heals those whose hearts are crushed. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18 He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 We cling also to the promise that for those who trust in Christ, mourning and pain will one day be no more. He will wipe away from them every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away. Revelation 21:4

We thank you for praying in the precious and holy name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and find true comfort and salvation. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up every family who still carries grief from September 11, every survivor who still bears wounds seen and unseen, and every child who grew up without a mother or father because of that day. Lord, comfort them with Your presence, strengthen them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and heal their broken hearts. Help us as a people to honor the lives lost by living in a way that pleases You, by loving our neighbors, by standing for truth and righteousness, and by never forgetting both the cost of hatred and the power of Your mercy. Teach us to forgive as You have forgiven us, while trusting You as the righteous Judge. Draw those who are still hurting into the hope of eternal life through Jesus, that they may know the comfort that only You can give. We ask this in the holy and precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thank you for taking time to remember this anniversary in prayer. Twenty-five years later the weight of that day is still felt, and we join you in honoring every life lost and every family forever changed.

We think especially of those who still grieve. Anniversaries have a way of bringing sorrow back to the surface, and each person and family carries it differently. Some may feel quiet sadness, others vivid memories. Simply remembering them before God, as you have, is a meaningful act of love and respect.

If it would help to mark the day in a personal way, you might set aside a few unhurried minutes on September 11 to pray by name for families you know, or for first responders and their loved ones, or to attend a local remembrance or moment of silence in your community. Even a small, intentional pause can be a way to honor and to keep their stories before the Lord.

Father, we ask You to draw near to all who still mourn from that day. Give comfort where there is sorrow, strength where there is weariness, and peace to hearts that feel the loss anew. Help us to remember well, to love our neighbors well, and to rest in Your mercy. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your prayer for comfort and strength in this solemn remembrance is heard, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace.

It is fitting that we should still remember and honor the many lives lost and the lives changed forever on that terrible day twenty five years ago, and lift up before the Lord the families who yet grieve. Time is a wonderful healer in some measure, as waters that pass away, yet there are sorrows that linger deep, and for these we need a comfort that does not fail.

Hear what the Lord saith, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. When God said, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, He spake to all His people to comfort one another. And who is there that knows the Lord and has tasted of His grace who cannot comfort his brethren. The Lord Himself would have His bright winged servants flap their wings to earth to comfort some desponding heart. Our God is the God of all comfort, and He comforts to purpose.

You have asked for strength, and the Scripture saith, They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Human strength is of many kinds, but in any form it will spend itself in due time. Apart from God it is not strength at all and must come to an end. But oh, the glory of the strength of God, His eternity and inexhaustible omnipotence. To those who have no might He increaseth strength. Therefore we wait upon the Lord, not in our own power, but in prayer and in His Word, and He renews us day by day.

This is the peculiar comfort of the believer in affliction, This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy Word hath quickened me. It is not the letter alone, but the Spirit working by the Word who quickens us and so comforts us. The very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. If you are sick at heart, look to Christ, for there is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation.

So we pray that our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God, even our Father, would comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work. For comfort alone is not enough without constancy, and constancy without comfort will not suffice, but God gives both.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, in whose hands are the lives of all men, we come before Thee with heavy hearts remembering that great tragedy. We ask Thee to pour out Thy comfort upon all who still mourn, upon families who feel the absence of loved ones, upon those who bear wounds seen and unseen. Quicken them by Thy Word, renew their strength as they wait upon Thee, and heal their broken hearts with the healing leaves of Christ. Teach us to number our days, to trust in Thy everlasting strength, and to remember Christ above all, for He said, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do, and He is our only hope and salvation. Keep us in Thy peace, and establish us until the day when Thou shalt wipe away all tears. In Jesus precious and holy name we pray, Amen.

Heavenly Father,

Today, we pause in remembrance of the lives taken on September 11, 2001, and we hold in our hearts all those whose lives were changed forever.

We remember the innocent men, women and children who never returned home. We remember those who lost husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, relatives and friends. We remember the thousands who were injured, those who witnessed the horror unfold, and those who carried its memories long after that terrible day.

Lord, surround all who still grieve with your loving presence. Bring comfort to those whose hearts still ache with loss, and warmth to those who may feel forgotten or alone. May the memories of those who died remain a source of love, not only sorrow.

We remember the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, emergency workers, military personnel and ordinary people who showed extraordinary courage and compassion. Give strength and peace to those who survived, and comfort to the families who continue to carry the weight of their loss.

For those whose bodies or minds still bear the wounds of that day, bring healing. For those who continue to struggle with fear, grief, trauma or unanswered questions, surround them with people who will listen, understand and walk beside them.

Lord, where there is sorrow, bring comfort.

Where there is fear, bring peace.

Where there is weakness, bring strength.

Where there is darkness, bring your light.

Where there is loneliness, bring your loving presence.

Where there is despair, plant seeds of hope.

Help us never to forget the value of every human life. Teach us to choose compassion over hatred, understanding over division, forgiveness over bitterness, and love over fear.

May we remember not only the tragedy, but also the courage, kindness, sacrifice and humanity that emerged in the midst of it.

Twenty-five years have passed, yet for many, the memories remain close. Be especially near to those for whom this anniversary brings the pain of that day back to the surface.

May those who died be remembered with dignity and love.

May those who mourn find comfort.

May those who survived find continued strength.

May those who carry invisible wounds find healing.

And may future generations learn from the past and work towards a world where peace, compassion and love have greater strength than hatred.
Lord, hold every grieving heart in your hands.

Wrap your arms around those who need comfort today.

Give us the courage to remember, the strength to heal, and the hope to keep moving forward.

We join you in prayer as we remember the tragedy of September 11 and we lift up before the Lord all who were lost, all who were injured, and all whose lives were changed forever on that day. Thank you for bringing this burden before Him and for grounding it in the words of our Lord, Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.

We pray that our Heavenly Father, who knows we have need of all things and does not overlook His children in their deepest need, will pour out comfort and strength upon the families who still grieve, upon survivors who carry wounds both seen and unseen, and upon all who mourn. God is the source of all comfort, and His comfort overflows to us so that we may be refreshed and may comfort one another in Christ. May that comfort sustain those who feel this loss most keenly today and uphold them in the days ahead.

We pray also that we would not sink into forgetfulness. May we keep a lasting and faithful remembrance, honoring the lives lost and the many who served and sacrificed, while holding fast to the hope we have in Jesus Christ, who suffered for us, rose again, and will come again in glory. May our remembering be shaped by truth, mercy and love, and may we live each day with a clear conscience before God, seeking what is well pleasing to Him.
