Disciple of Prayer
My best friend‘s mom is fighting a terrible illness cancer and she is so sick and so weak and she’s been going through so much for years and it has gotten worse right now and we need to pray for her to find the strength to heal to really give all her faith to God she is probably the most spiritual most heavenly most Jesus like person she loves Jesus and I know Jesus is the only one that can help her right now so please Lord give her this miraculous miracle to heal and to get better and ### is seriously someone that you feel closer to God when you’re with her, she speaks about God she she spreads the word she praise she does everything right so please I just don’t want to see anything bad keep happening to her. Amen.

We join you in lifting up your best friend's mother before the throne of grace, and we are so moved by your love and concern for her and by your faith that Jesus is the only one who can help her now. We hear how weary and weak she has become after fighting this terrible illness for years, and how much you cherish her because she loves Jesus, speaks about Him, spreads His Word, and lives in a way that draws others closer to God. We thank God for her faithful witness even in suffering.

We are reminded that our healing and our strength do not come because we do everything right, but because of the mercy and grace of our Lord. Even the most faithful among us are healed not by our own righteousness but by His compassion and power. We cling to His promises together with you, that He is near to the brokenhearted and that His power is made perfect in weakness. As it is written, Fear you not, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. And again, Bless Yahweh, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:2-3. We also hold fast to the promise, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Jeremiah 30:17, and that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. James 5:15.

Together we bring her before our Father in Jesus' name.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, and we thank You that we have access to You only through Him. We lift up this precious mother who loves You so dearly and who has pointed so many to You. You see her weakness, You know every pain and every treatment and every sleepless night she has endured. We ask for Your merciful hand upon her body. If it is Your will, we pray for a miraculous healing, that You would restore her strength, ease her suffering, and allow her to rise again to continue to praise You and speak of Your goodness. Pour out Your comfort and peace upon her, and let her feel Your presence close to her now. We also pray for her family and for our friend who loves her so deeply, and for the one who brought this request, that You would give them strength, hope, and unwavering faith to trust You in this difficult time. Help them to continue to give all their faith to You, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You. Romans 8:28. And when we are weak, remind us that Your grace is sufficient for us, for Your power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9. We entrust her completely into Your loving and sovereign hands, believing that whether by healing in this life or by perfect wholeness in Your presence, You will not forsake those who love You. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand beside her and your best friend in prayer and in practical love, to read Scripture with her, to speak the name of Jesus over her, and to rest in the confidence that our God hears every prayer offered in faith. He is our healer, our comforter, and our hope, and He will uphold her and you with His righteous right hand.

We hear how much you love your best friend and her mom, and how heavy it has been to watch someone so full of faith and kindness suffer for so long with cancer. It is painful when an illness stretches on for years and then gets worse, and your care for her really comes through.

We are thankful for the way you describe her love for Jesus and how she has pointed others to Him. We join you in asking the Lord to be near to her right now in her weakness, to give her strength for each day, and to bring comfort to her and to all who love her. We also pray for wisdom and steadiness for her doctors and family as they care for her.

One gentle way to come alongside them in this season is to stay close in practical ways. Keep checking in with your friend, ask how you can help with small needs, and encourage her mom to stay connected to her medical team and to let them know how she is doing. You don't have to carry this alone either, so lean on others who can pray with you and support you as you support them.

We are praying with you:

Father, we lift this dear mother to You. You see her sickness and her weariness and her faith. We ask for Your mercy and healing touch according to Your will, for peace and strength for her and her family, and for Your presence to sustain them day by day. Comfort them and hold them close. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your love for your friend and for her dear mother is very evident in this prayer, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace for her in this terrible season of suffering.

We have heard your cry that she may find strength to heal and that her faith may be fully stayed upon God, and this is a most fitting prayer. For all strength apart from God is derived strength and must come to an end, but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. If by an act of faith the human heart can be linked with the Divine, then the sacred promise is fulfilled and strength is renewed. We pray that the Lord, who increases strength to them that have no might, would be her arm every morning and her salvation in the time of trouble.

You describe her as one who loves Jesus and spreads His word, and we thank God for such a testimony. Yet even the most heavenly minded saint must live by faith, and faith itself is the gift of God. It comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of the Lord. The least faith in Jesus, though it be but as a grain of mustard seed, can do wonders, for it is not the strength of our faith that saves us but the strength of that gracious hand which is stretched out to catch us when we sink. When Peter began to sink he prayed, Lord, save me, and little faith knows where its strength lies, it betakes itself to prayer. So we may come with even trembling faith and say, Lord, increase our faith, for He has the key of faith and can open more of its chambers and fill them with His treasures.

There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. The Scripture says the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. Even the most humble and timid faith in Him will save, for His very touch brings peace to the soul. He is Jehovah Rophi, the Lord that heals, and He can work swiftly what no man can do. We may bring every hard case before Him, trusting not in any power in ourselves but wholly in Jesus Himself.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, Self Existent and Ever Living, we bring before You this beloved mother who is so sick and weak after years of affliction. You see her body wasted by cancer and her spirit wearied by pain. Have mercy upon her, we beseech You. Lay Your healing hand upon her and, if it be Your gracious will, restore her to strength and health. Renew her strength as You have promised to those who wait upon You. Increase her faith, and the faith of all who love her, that they may believe Your promise intensely and act upon it.

Grant to her that touch of personal faith which brings peace, that whether You are pleased to heal her body in this life or to keep her in Your perfect peace through the trial, she may know that pardon and healing are one in Christ, and that the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings. Comfort her friend and her family, and let them know that You hear the prayer of little faith when it cries, Lord, save me.

We ask this not because we are worthy, but because Jesus Christ died for the ungodly and ever lives to make intercession for us. Do for her household all that Your mercy can do, and let Your will be done in love. In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope, Amen.
