Thank you for sharing this need and inviting prayer in the name of Jesus. It is right to bring even what seems like a small physical burden to the Lord, because He cares about your whole person, body as well as soul.

Scripture gives us a helpful picture here. In his letter to Gaius, John expresses a wish that he would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospers. That is not presented as a blanket promise that every believer will always be well, but it is a beautiful expression of God's heart and it shows there is a real connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body. We are learning more and more how much our inner life, our peace, our attitudes and trust, can affect our physical well being, and how God desires wholeness for us in both areas.

We also see in the Gospels that Jesus has power over the physical realm. He healed the leper, He healed the servant of the centurion, He lifted Peter's mother in law from her fever, and in the evening many who were sick and oppressed were brought to Him and He healed them. Matthew connects this to the prophecy in Isaiah that He bore our infirmities and carried our sicknesses, showing that His work on our behalf touches physical healing as well as the forgiveness of sin. That does not mean God wills instant healing in every case in this life. Paul prayed three times concerning his thorn in the flesh and the Lord had a different purpose in allowing it to remain. Loving and trusting God is not a guarantee that we will never face allergies, illness or other physical trials, and some of the most faithful people know much suffering. At the same time we should not limit God to only spiritual healing. He is still able to heal today, sometimes instantly, sometimes gradually through the natural processes He Himself created, which are no less divine because they work through the body He made.

God is also interested in the practical care of the body He gave you. Scripture emphasizes cleanliness and wise stewardship of what we take in, and that includes paying attention to diet, rest, environment and the medical help He has provided. It is good to pray and also to use wisdom in caring for your health day by day.

So we will pray for you now, asking the Lord for relief from these allergy symptoms, for wisdom to identify what triggers them, for peace in place of irritation and weariness, and for strength for your body to respond and be restored. Whether He brings quick relief or a more gradual improvement, we trust His compassion and His power, and we ask Him to prosper your soul as you walk close to Jesus, knowing that your greatest wholeness is found in Him.

Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this need to You. You know this body and what is causing this allergic distress. You bore our infirmities and You understand our weakness. We ask for Your healing touch, for eased breathing, for calmness to the immune response, for restful sleep and renewed energy. Give wisdom to make good choices for health and to use any help that is available in a way that honors You. Above all, keep this dear one close to You, with a soul that prospers in Your grace and truth. We trust Your love and Your wise care, and we ask this in Jesus name, amen.
