Beloved Servant
My ### has severe spiritual and psychological problems. I have been fearful of asking people at church to pray for ### about this but I think I'm going to ask my pastor. Please pray that God will open a door to. Thank you.

We hear your heart and we stand with you in this burden for your loved one who is struggling with such deep spiritual and psychological needs, and we thank you for trusting us to pray with you. We understand the fear you have felt about asking others at church to pray, and we want to gently encourage you that God has placed us in the body of Christ to bear one another's burdens. Galatians 6:2 says Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ, and James 5:16 says Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man is powerfully effective. Your desire to speak with your pastor is wise and biblical, for there is wisdom in a multitude of counselors as Proverbs 11:14 teaches, and God often opens doors for healing and guidance through faithful shepherds.

We also want to lovingly remind you that we have access to God only through Jesus Christ, and we noticed your request did not mention His name. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is only by placing our faith in Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved and can boldly approach the throne of grace. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust fully in Him, and to bring every prayer before the Father in Jesus' name.

We do not want you to remain in fear about seeking help. 2 Timothy 1:7 says For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. And Isaiah 41:10 says Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. The Lord knows the weight you carry and He cares deeply for both you and your loved one. Psalm 34:17-18 says The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. We encourage you to continue to seek godly counsel, and where needed, wise Christian counseling or medical help alongside prayer, trusting that God can use all these means for restoration.

We now pray together with you.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one and their beloved loved one to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see the severe spiritual and psychological struggles that have been hidden out of fear, and You know every detail. We ask that You bring Your peace that surpasses all understanding as Philippians 4:6-7 promises, to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We pray that You will open a clear door for this conversation with their pastor, that You will give them courage and words to speak, and that You will prepare the pastor's heart to listen with wisdom, compassion, and biblical truth, and to keep confidence with grace. Lord, we ask for Your healing and deliverance for their loved one, that You would break any spiritual oppression, bring clarity to the mind, comfort to the soul, and draw them close to Jesus. Lead them to the right help and surround this family with faithful believers who will pray and support them without judgment. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, our only hope, Amen.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Loving someone through severe spiritual and psychological struggles is exhausting, and it makes sense you have felt hesitant to bring it to others at church. Wanting to protect your loved one's dignity while also getting help is a real tension.

We are encouraged that you are considering talking with your pastor. That can be a good and safe first door. The church is meant to be a support system where burdens are not carried alone, and pastors are often able to listen confidentially, pray with you, and help discern wise next supports without you having to share broadly with everyone.

If it helps, you might jot down beforehand what you most want your pastor to know and what kind of help you are hoping for, whether prayer, discretion, or guidance toward additional care. Asking for a brief private time and checking how he keeps confidences can make that first conversation feel steadier.

We are praying for you and your loved one.

Father, we lift this family to You in Jesus' name. Bring comfort and clarity to our friend as they reach out, give wisdom to their pastor as he listens, and draw their loved one close to You. Provide the right supports in the days ahead and sustain each of them with Your peace. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

🙏Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your purpose to speak at last to your pastor is a wise and right one, and I thank God that He has wrought this resolve in your heart. Fear has kept you silent, and fear has a paralyzing influence upon prayer, so that a man in the presence of one whom he dreads cannot speak boldly. But the Lord would have you put that fear away. He bids you open your mouth wide, for He will fill it. You need not ask for pennyworths when you come to such a throne of grace and plead such a sacrifice as Christ has offered. Bring this great need, this spiritual and inward sickness, and ask largely.

It is well that you have begun to pray, and it is well that you will not be satisfied to approach the throne alone. Ask your brother to pray with you. A cordon of praying souls around the throne of grace will be sure to prevail. When two agree touching the thing that concerns Christ's kingdom, there is power in it. Do not be ashamed to seek the help of others. It will do them good and you will get a blessing. The Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends, and He often turns our captivity when we pray one for another.

You carry one who is wounded and broken in heart, troubled in mind and in soul. Such cases are not strange to our Lord. He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. We speedily seek a physician for the body, how much more should we seek the great Physician for the soul. There is a balm for such wounds, and it is found in Christ alone. It is the Word of God applied by the Holy Spirit that heals sin sick souls, and Christ Himself is the Word whom God has sent for the healing of poor sin sick souls. He still casts out the evil spirit and still deals with special cases of deep distress. Whenever He appears the adversary must give way. Bring this dear one to Him at once. Do not delay for a single hour. You need not even bend the knee in a set form, but let your heart go up to God just where you are. God will hear the prayer of a staggering man, the prayer that seems to reel to and fro because the one who prays is at his wit's end. He understands the broken petition.

Remember also that Christ Himself keeps a pastoral prayer for His people. Because they belong to the Father they have a peculiar value in His eyes, and He prays for their preservation and their unity, and not one of His sheep is lost. If this loved one belongs to Him, he is kept in that intercession. If he does not yet belong to Him, then that is the first and chief prayer, that he may be brought to the living personal Christ, once crucified and now living to plead at the right hand of God. For He came to save His people from their sins, and to give rest to those who come to Him.

I will pray with you and for you. I will ask the Lord to open the door before you with your pastor, to give you liberty and words, and to give your pastor wisdom and tenderness and faithfulness to the Word. May the Lord prepare his heart to receive you, and give you grace to speak plainly what has long been hidden through fear. May He lead you both to the Scriptures and to earnest prayer together, and may He show His healing power upon the one for whom you intercede, for the glory of His grace.

Cast your care on Him who cares for you, and take everything from His hands and trust everything in His hands. He hears, He heals, and He will not turn away a seeking heart.

It takes real courage to share this, and to consider taking the next step of speaking with your pastor even while you have felt fearful about it. God sees both the burden you are carrying for your loved one and the fear that has made it hard to ask for help, and He is near to you in both.

Scripture shows us that fear is cast out not by pretending there is nothing to fear, but by a greater fear and a greater hope. Moses did not keep hiding because he feared the king, but he endured because he saw Him who is invisible and entrusted everything to God. In the same way, when the fear of the Lord and trust in His care fills our hearts, the fear of what people might think loses its power. Your desire to speak boldly and honestly for the sake of someone you love is pleasing to God, and He weaves together both hardships and comforts in the lives of His people to strengthen them.

We will pray for you and for your loved one. We pray that God will open a clear and peaceful door for you to speak with your pastor without fear, that He will give your pastor wisdom, compassion and sound counsel, and that He will bring spiritual and mental healing and stability to your loved one through Christ. We also pray that God will give you peace, courage and strength as you take this step, and that you will know you are not alone.

Please do go and speak with your pastor as you have planned. Continue to bring this need to the Lord Jesus, who alone is our Savior and Healer, and allow your church family to help bear this burden with you in prayer and care.

Thank you for sharing this burden so honestly and for reaching out for prayer. It takes humility to bring a painful family need into the light, especially when fear has made you hesitate to ask others in the church to pray. The fact that you are considering speaking with your pastor is a wise and good step, and I want to encourage you in it.

Fear so often grows when we forget the Lord and His nearness, and faith grows when we remember Him. David said that even when he walked through the valley of the shadow of death he would fear no evil because the Lord was with him. When our thoughts are fixed on the Lord and on His presence with us, fear loses its hold. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. Where fear is allowed to take over, faith is pushed aside, and where faith and confidence in God are strong, fear must leave. That is why turning your heart again and again to the Lord in prayer is so important.

The enemy often tries to use fear to move us in a wrong direction. One faithful man in Scripture recognized that an attempt was being made to make him afraid so that he would react out of fear and make an unwise choice. He refused to be driven by fear and instead did what was wise and prudent, trusting that if God wanted to protect him, God could protect him right where he was. You can do the same. You do not need to be driven by fear of what others will think or by fear of the spiritual and psychological struggles your loved one is facing. You can take a calm, prayerful, wise step forward, trusting God to guard and guide you both.

Family pain cuts very deep. David knew that kind of heartache well, including the sorrow of a child in rebellion and the pain of close relationships turning difficult, with many even turning against him and his very life feeling threatened. He was not a stranger to trouble, but he also learned that God had shown Himself faithful to deliver him. When he was overwhelmed he was driven to prayer, and as he prayed his focus shifted from the size of the problem to the greatness of God. What began with terror and apprehension ended with confidence because prayer turned his eyes to the Lord. Jesus also reminds us not to fear what people can do to us, but to have a holy reverence for God Himself. In that reverence we learn to hate what is evil and to love what is good, wanting above all not to grieve the Lord whom we love.

God has also given us a heritage in the family of God, to be surrounded by people who reverence His name. That family is a beautiful gift. We have a responsibility to care for our own households, and we also have the privilege of leaning on our brothers and sisters in Christ who can stand with us, pray with us, and bear burdens with us. Asking your pastor to pray is not a sign of weakness but a way of inviting that God given family to come alongside you.

So I encourage you to go ahead and speak with your pastor. Do it not from fear, but from faith that God is with you, that He hears you, and that He can open the door you are praying for. He knows the spiritual and psychological needs your loved one carries far better than any of us do, and He is able to work with wisdom and power where we feel helpless.

I am praying for you and for your loved one. May the Lord quiet your fear as you remember His presence with you, may He give you peace and courage to take this next step, may He open a clear door for you to share this need with your pastor and receive prayer and counsel, and may He bring His help, healing, and hope to your loved one according to His perfect will. May He sustain you day by day and let you know the comfort of being part of His family as you walk through this together with Him.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have been lifting up your loved one who is facing severe spiritual and psychological problems and we have been praying for you as you carry this heavy burden.

We understand how fearful you have felt about asking people at church to pray about this and we admire your courage in considering sharing this need with your pastor. We have been praying that God will open a door for that conversation to happen with grace and wisdom and that He will give you peace and boldness to speak and give your pastor understanding and discernment to support you and your loved one well.

We continue to stand with you asking the Lord to bring healing and deliverance and restoration and peace to your loved one and comfort and strength to you. We pray this in Jesus Name.

If your request was answered please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ.
