Disciple of Prayer
I’m back again I need pray for masterbation to stop and my brain fog to go away but I continue masterbation I have no brain at all

We hear your honest cry and we come alongside you in this struggle, bringing it before the Lord together in Jesus' name. We understand the shame and frustration of wanting to stop yet finding yourself falling again, and feeling like your mind is clouded and empty afterwards. You are not alone in this battle, but we want to speak truth to you in love because God wants to set you free completely.

We must lovingly rebuke what needs to be rebuked, for masturbation is not a harmless habit but is rooted in lust and sexual immorality. Jesus taught us about the heart behind this when He said but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart Matthew 5:28. It almost always involves lustful thoughts and fantasies, and God calls us to purity. We are told Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's 1 Corinthians 6:18-20. God designed sexual intimacy as a holy gift to be enjoyed only within marriage between a man and a woman, and any sexual activity outside of that, including fornication and lustful self-gratification, falls short of His perfect will.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently but urgently remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to God and power over sin. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. Without calling on Jesus, our prayers have no foundation and our striving has no power. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to confess your sins, believe that Jesus died for them and rose again, and surrender your life to Him as Lord. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. It is His forgiveness and His Spirit living in you that gives you power to overcome, not just willpower.

Your brain fog and feeling like you have no brain at all is very real, and we believe it has both spiritual and physical roots. Sin brings shame and guilt that clouds the mind, and indulging the flesh weakens our clarity. But God promises renewal. Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God Romans 12:2. For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. The Lord wants to restore soundness and clarity to your mind as you walk in obedience.

We want to encourage you that victory is possible, but you must walk by the Spirit and flee temptation, not try to fight it in your own strength. But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh Galatians 5:16. No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it 1 Corinthians 10:13. That way of escape means turning away immediately, removing sources of temptation such as pornography or lustful images, avoiding being alone and idle, bringing your thoughts captive to Christ, filling your mind with Scripture, praying continually, fasting if able, getting healthy sleep and exercise, and seeking accountability with a mature Christian man who can pray with you and check on you regularly.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up our brother to You. Lord, we confess this sin of lust and masturbation before You and ask for Your complete forgiveness through the blood of Jesus. We ask that You break this chain that has bound him, and set him free by Your power. Holy Spirit, fill him and empower him to walk in purity and self-control, to flee sexual immorality and to glorify You in his body. Lord, we ask You to renew his mind, to lift this brain fog, to restore clarity, focus, and peace to his thoughts. Help him to fix his mind on whatever is true, pure and honorable. Give him strength to take every thought captive to Christ and to walk in the way of escape You provide with each temptation. Heal any shame and restore his joy in You. We pray he would know the power of the name of Jesus and live in daily dependence on Him. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to stay in the Word daily, to pray even when you do not feel like it, and to not remain in isolation. When you fall, do not hide but quickly confess to God and get back up, for the righteous may fall but the Lord upholds him. God loves you and is faithful to complete the work He has started in you as you surrender fully to Jesus.

Thank you for coming back and being honest about where you are. We hear how wearying this cycle has been, wanting to stop and then feeling stuck again, and how discouraging the brain fog and that sense of having no clarity must feel.

We are glad you kept reaching out instead of carrying this alone. Trying to fight a persistent habit in isolation often keeps us stuck, and having one safe person to walk with can make a real difference. If it would help, consider asking one trusted mature Christian, like a pastor or mentor at your church, if you could check in with him regularly for honest encouragement, prayer and accountability. Just having a consistent time to be known and supported can take away some of the secrecy and pressure.

We also noticed you mentioned ongoing brain fog. Alongside prayer, we would gently encourage you to see a medical professional for an evaluation to make sure any physical factors are cared for.

We are praying for you and standing with you as you take next steps.

Father, we bring our brother before You in Jesus name. You see his heart and his desire to walk in purity, and You see his weariness. Give him strength for today, wisdom to reach for good support, and guidance for his health. Surround him with trustworthy help and remind him of Your nearness and grace as he keeps seeking You. Amen.

Your honest and humbled confession has been heard, and I thank you for speaking plainly about this struggle that has entangled you. To feel that you have no strength left and that your mind is clouded is a painful but not uncommon fruit of a habit that wars against the soul, and it is a mercy that you are not content to remain in it but desire to be made free.

Scripture calls us to keep ourselves unspotted from the world, and purity is not an optional ornament of the Christian life but a necessary garment. Without holiness no man shall see the Lord. What a man is, before long he does, and therefore the work must begin within, in the heart and mind which God searches. This keeping requires careful self watching. You have said rightly that you continue though you desire to stop, and this shows how little strength there is in resolutions made in self reliance. Without Christ you can do nothing, not even the least deed of piety or the smallest victory over temptation. Every grain of self strength is but weakness, and every particle of self reliance is poison to the soul. Deliverance will not come by merely trying harder in your own power.

For this reason I would urge upon you that holy practice of self examination and self humbling. Set Caution and Self examination at the helm. Cry with the Psalmist, Search me and know my heart. Ask the Lord to show you not only the outward act but the inward thoughts, the idle hours, the doors by which temptation enters, the vineyard of your own heart which has been neglected while other things have been kept. Much of this sin thrives in secrecy and idleness and in the feeding of the mind upon unclean things. To keep the vineyard you must watch over what the eye sees, what the mind dwells upon, and where the body goes when tempted. Flee youthful lusts as a man would flee a fire, and do not provide opportunity for the flesh.

Yet self knowledge and self watching alone will cast you down if they do not lead you out of yourself to Christ. There is a sad truth in the word, O Israel, you have destroyed yourself, and every sinner who persists in sin is a self destroyer. But there is a blessed second truth, in me is your help. Hope is not in your resolve but in Him who was pierced for our transgressions and who gives His Holy Spirit to dwell in those who trust Him. He who suffered and was forsaken that sinners might be forgiven is able to subdue the sin that now subdues you. Come to Him in confession without excuse, owning the sin as sin, loathing it because it offends a holy God, and trusting not in your tears but in His blood. He will not cast away a naked spirit that falls into the sea of His love.

Do not remain alone in this fight. Bring this struggle into the light before a faithful pastor or a mature brother in Christ who can walk with you, pray with you, and ask you honestly how you do. Put away every provision for the flesh. Fill the mind with Scripture, with prayer, with useful labor. Keep regular hours for sleep and for calling upon God, for the body and mind are the Lord's and to be kept sober and watchful. If the fog upon your mind continues, seek also wise counsel for your bodily health, but above all seek the clearness that comes from a conscience washed in the blood of Christ and a heart kept by His power.

I will pray for you, that the Lord will give you a true hatred of this sin and a true love for Christ, that He will grant you strength not your own to say no when temptation comes, that He will restore to you clearness of mind and peace of conscience, and that you may prove that His grace is sufficient to keep you unspotted and to present you faultless before His presence with exceeding joy.

May the Lord who searches the heart and tries the reins make you watchful, humble, and wholly dependent upon Christ, and may you find that though you have destroyed yourself, your help is found in Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
