My son did not score one goal this season yet he was the top goal scorer last year all glory to God he does pray that he does score and play soccer to bring glory to God&to show others how amazing God is bec he lays at Jesus feet he is young but his had strong believe system he always tell me these verse no weapon form agianst me shall prosper give all your plans to God and he shall sustain it. We rejoice with you in the faith of your son, a young warrior in Christ whose heart is tender toward the Lord. What a blessing it is to witness a child who lays his dreams, his disappointments, and even his sickness at the feet of Jesus! His trust is not in the outcome of a soccer match or the absence of symptoms, but in the character of God Himself. This is the kind of faith that moves mountains and silences the enemy.

We see in your son the living truth of Scripture: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6 WEB). His understanding of God’s sovereignty, even at his young age, is a testament to the work of the Holy Spirit in his life. He speaks of healing not as something he demands, but as something he already possesses in Christ, "by His stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5 WEB). This is the faith that pleases God, for "without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to Him" (Hebrews 11:6 WEB).

Yet we must also address the spiritual warfare at play here. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10 WEB), and he often targets our children to discourage them, to make them question their identity in Christ, or to rob them of the joy of their salvation. Your son’s sudden illness and the shift in his soccer performance may not be coincidental, they could be attacks meant to shake his confidence, not in himself, but in the God who equips him. We rebuke every spirit of discouragement, sickness, and hindrance that has come against him. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB), just as he himself has declared!

We also encourage you, as his parent, to continue nurturing his faith. Remind him that his worth is not found in his performance on the field, but in his identity as a child of God. "For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:26 WEB). His soccer skills are a gift from God, but they are not who he is. Even if he never scores another goal, his life is still a testimony to the goodness of God. Help him to see that his platform, whether on the field or in the classroom, is an opportunity to point others to Jesus.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the faith You have placed in . Lord, we thank You for his trust in You, for his understanding that even in sickness or disappointment, You are still good. We rebuke every spirit of infirmity, discouragement, and hindrance that has come against him. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5 WEB), and we speak life and strength over his body. Father, we ask that You would open doors for him to glorify You, whether through soccer or through any other avenue You choose. Give him opportunities to share Your love with others, and let his light shine brightly in this dark world.

Lord, we also pray for wisdom for his parents. Give them the words to speak life into him, to encourage him in his faith, and to help him navigate the ups and downs of life with a biblical perspective. Remind him daily that his identity is found in You, not in his performance or the opinions of others. Surround him with godly mentors and friends who will sharpen him in his walk with You.

We declare that no weapon formed against shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). Every plan of the enemy to steal his joy, his health, or his testimony is dismantled in the name of Jesus. We speak restoration over his body, his mind, and his spirit. May he continue to grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52 WEB). Let his life be a living testimony to Your faithfulness, and may many come to know You because of his obedience.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. Amen.

Continue to stand firm in faith, knowing that God is working all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28 WEB). Your son’s faith is a beacon of hope, and we believe that God has great plans for him. Keep nurturing that faith, and trust that the same God who began a good work in him will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6 WEB).

What a beautiful glimpse you’ve given us into your son’s heart. The way he rests his dreams at Jesus’ feet and trusts even when he doesn’t feel well, that’s a faith that brings a lump to the throat and glory to God long before any goal finds the net. We’re thanking God for the gift of this young man.

It’s completely natural that he, and you, wish he could score again and use that platform to point to Jesus. That desire itself is a good, godly impulse. And yet, it sounds like God is already doing something remarkable in him. A child who can say, “Even if the symptoms remain, I trust I am fully healed,” is living out a trust that reaches far beyond a soccer field. He’s already showing others how amazing God is, simply by the way he holds onto his faith in the middle of sickness and a scoreless season.

We’d simply encourage you: keep nurturing that tender faith. When he brings up his verses about God sustaining his plans, maybe wonder aloud with him about how God might be doing that right now, even in ways that feel hidden. And if his symptoms linger, a gentle visit to a doctor can be a wise act of stewardship alongside prayer, not as a lack of trust, but as a way of cooperating with the body God created.

Right now, we’re just joining you in prayer.

Father, thank you for this boy’s honest, unwavering trust in you. Strengthen his body as you see fit, and in his waiting, deepen his sense of your nearness. Use this season, whether he scores a hundred goals or not one, to shape him into a man after your own heart. And give his mom daily joy in watching you work in her son. In Jesus’ name, amen.

What a precious fragrance of grace rises from the words of your little one! To hear a child declare, “Even if the symptoms remain, I trust I am fully healed,” is to behold faith that puts many of riper years to shame. This is the very faith which our Lord Jesus commends, the faith that takes Him at His word when sight and sense deny it. Great is your son’s faith! And as you have seen, the Lord’s heart delights in nothing so much as a sinner trusting Him, a child resting in His arms.

Think not that this sickness is unto death, nor that a season without goals is a mark of God’s neglect. Our Savior would speak differently: it is for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. Your son’s prayer was that he might bring glory to God through the game, and lo, he answers it in a higher way, by glorifying God in weakness, with a faith that looks past the seen and embraces the unseen. This is the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ: not the glitter of earthly success, but the sweetness of a trusting heart that says, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.” The Lord has given him a strong belief system, as you say, and that is no small thing, it is a token of the covenant, a seal of the Spirit’s inward work. When a soul can rest in God’s goodness even when the cup of healing tarries, there is the mark of a true child of God.

Let your own heart be melted not into fear, but into adoration. Your son’s words recall the psalmist’s cry: “I will cry unto God Most High; unto God that performeth all things for me.” Yes, in everything that concerns your boy, the goals that did not come, the body laid low, the moments of private prayer, God is performing all things. The apparent setback is the very stage upon which His grace shall do wonders. It is often harder for us to trust God about a child than for God to heal that child; but here you see the miracle already wrought, for the lad trusts. That is a greater work than the healing of a thousand fevers. God is all eyes and all ears for His people; He sees the quiet faith of your son, He hears his prayers, and He will sustain him.

Hold fast to the word he has hidden in his heart: “No weapon formed against me shall prosper,” and “Commit your way to the Lord; He will sustain you.” These are not charms, but the breathings of a soul that has fled for refuge to the shadow of the Almighty. The devil himself cannot snatch away one who so clings to the feet of Jesus. Whether the symptoms remain or depart, your son is healed, healed in the inmost spirit, sealed unto the day of redemption. And if the Lord sees fit to restore him fully and to grant him many goals in years to come, then he will glorify God with a testimony sweeter than before. But if not, he will glorify God still, and that is the very marrow of perseverance.

Therefore, let your soul be at peace. You have asked prayer for him, and prayer shall ascend; but already faith has done its work. Encourage him, rejoice with him, and learn from him. The kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these, who can say with childlike simplicity, “I trust that I am fully healed,” even when the ache remains. May you both see, in God’s good time, the bright shining of His face in this trial, until you cry out, “What has God wrought!”

The sickness is not unto death. Even as Christ delayed and said this to those who loved Lazarus, so this child’s trust that he is fully healed while the symptoms remain is the very proof of a lofty and high-born soul. For such a thing is faith: it is clearer than demonstration by reasons and persuades more fully. I see a young boy who, when asked if he wanted God to heal him, melted your heart by answering that even if the symptoms remained, he still trusted he was fully healed. This is not the reasoning of a weak mind but of one fully persuaded.

You tell me he was the top scorer last year, all glory to God, and this season he has not scored one goal. You wonder at this. But observe: he who stands and hears the Bridegroom’s voice rejoices greatly. The bride is brought home by a voice, by teaching. This child’s office for a time seems to have ceased, that he might for the present stand and hear Him, and learn that God is able to perform what He has promised. Abraham learned that God could raise from the dead even before the proof, for he had faith. And so he gave glory to God, holding in mind His majesty, His boundless power. Your son does the same when he says no weapon formed against him shall prosper, when he casts his plans at Jesus’ feet.

And what is his desire? To score goals that he might bring glory to God. This is well. But do you consider that abstaining from curious questionings is glorifying God, as indulging in them is transgressing? This season of silence, this drought upon the field, may be the very means by which God is teaching him and others a far greater truth: that even if the visible victory is withheld, the promises of God remain unshaken and steadfast. For not in works only do we glorify Him, but in faith especially, which belongs to a lofty soul. The faith that stays itself upon God has fortified its hearing against words that may do hurt to it.

Think not that his prayers have failed. The Canaanite woman pressed upon Christ, and He seemed to delay, yet her faith drew forth the words, “Great is thy faith, be it unto thee even as thou wilt.” He tested her, not to break her, but to show the power of her faith to all. So too, this child’s declaration that he trusts he is healed even with the symptoms, and his desire still to play for God’s glory, is a greater sign than any goal. It is a shining light. Those who see his steadfastness will glorify his Father in heaven. For how shall a man find grace with God except by lowliness of mind? And what is more lowly, what is more fully persuaded, than to say, “Even if the symptoms remain, I trust I am healed”? This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

What a beautiful testimony your son carries. It stirs the heart to see a young person lay everything at Jesus’ feet, not measuring God’s goodness by a scoreboard but by who God is. When he told you that even if the symptoms remain he still trusts he is fully healed, that was faith in its purest form. It pleases God deeply when we believe Him not because we see the outcome right now, but because we know He is faithful. Without faith it is impossible to please Him, and your son is living in that kind of trust right now.

The season where nothing seems to go as expected can feel confusing, especially after a year of such visible success. But God does not account us righteous by our works or our achievements. Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness, not after he saw the promise fulfilled but while he was still waiting for it. Your son’s desire to play soccer for God’s glory is wonderful, and that very desire may be something God himself planted in his heart. God works in us both to will and to do of his good pleasure. He often leads us by giving us those yearnings, then teaching us to trust him through the waiting and the unexpected.

The real victory is not in the goal tally. It is in a heart that refuses to let go of God, that declares “no weapon formed against me shall prosper,” and that rests in the assurance that the just shall live by faith. That is a life built on the rock. Your son’s testimony shines far brighter than any trophy. Many who score many goals never give glory to God; he is giving that glory now, in sickness and in waiting, and that carries an eternal weight.

We will never have pat answers for why God heals some and seems to delay with others. His ways are beyond finding out. But we do know that the trial of our faith is more precious than gold that perishes. The testing of faith produces a deeper, purer trust that outlasts any earthly season. Your son’s confidence that he is healed because God’s word is true, even while symptoms linger, shows he is looking not at what is seen but at what is unseen. That is the kind of faith the heroes of old held, the kind that receives God’s approval.

Keep encouraging him to look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Point him again and again to the cross, where the full price was already paid. His sickness is not a punishment and his scoreless season is not a withdrawal of grace. God bestows his blessings and his love on us simply because we trust in him to do it, not because we perform flawlessly. Your son is standing in grace, righteous before God because of his faith in Christ, not because of anything he does on the field.

What you witnessed when he melted your heart is exactly what God wants from all of us: a childlike trust that says, “Even if this doesn’t change, I know you are good and I am yours.” That brings more glory to God than a hundred goals. That is the life of faith that pleases him, and he will sustain it to the end.
