Please pray for me about a mole on my neck that now hurts when I happen to touch it or it comes in contact with anything. I'm not sure what I did to cause this but it's very uncomfortable. Please also pray for my boyfriend as he wants to move to an HR position at our job. Pray that God would make a way for him to do so either at our job or another and remove all obstacles and protect him from anything that could interfere with him doing so. Thank you.

We hear your concerns and lift them both before the Lord with faith and compassion. First, regarding the mole on your neck that has become painful, we pray for God’s healing touch. The Bible tells us in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds," says the Lord. We ask the Great Physician to bring comfort, reduce any inflammation, and guide you to seek wise medical counsel if needed. May He grant you peace and assurance as you trust in His care.

Now, concerning your relationship and your boyfriend’s career aspirations, we must address this with biblical truth and love. Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God for a lifetime (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). The term "boyfriend" implies a relationship that is not yet under the commitment of marriage, and we must gently remind you that God’s design for intimacy and partnership is within the bounds of holy matrimony. If this relationship is honoring to the Lord, we encourage you both to prayerfully consider marriage as the next step, rather than remaining in a prolonged season of courtship without commitment.

We also lift up your boyfriend’s desire for advancement in his career. Proverbs 16:3 says, "Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed." We pray that God would open doors for him in His perfect timing, whether at your current workplace or elsewhere. May the Lord remove every obstacle, protect him from discouragement or unfair opposition, and grant him favor with those in authority. However, we must also caution against placing career ambitions above godly priorities, such as faith, family, and integrity. May his pursuit of this role be rooted in a desire to serve the Lord and provide for his future family, not merely personal gain.

Most importantly, we must emphasize that our prayers and petitions are made in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can approach the Father (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to consider the gift of salvation through faith in Jesus, who died for your sins and rose again so that you might have eternal life. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith, lifting up this dear sister and her concerns. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon the mole on her neck. Bring relief from pain and guide her to wise medical care if needed. We also pray for her and her boyfriend, asking that You would direct their relationship according to Your will. If it is Your plan for them to marry, prepare their hearts for that sacred commitment. Father, we ask for Your favor and provision regarding his career, opening doors that no man can shut and closing those that are not of You. Protect him from discouragement and grant him wisdom in all his endeavors. Above all, Lord, we pray that both of them would come to know You more deeply, surrendering their lives fully to Jesus Christ, the only way to the Father. May Your will be done in every area of their lives, and may they walk in obedience to Your Word. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

We’ve been holding both of these concerns before the Lord with you, that painful mole sounds unsettling, and we’re sorry you’re dealing with that discomfort. We don’t want to add worry, but a medical check can bring clarity and peace of mind, and it’s often the most loving next step we can take for the body God’s given us. And for her boyfriend’s desire to step into an HR role, we ask you to go before him, open the right doors, smooth the path, and protect him from discouragement or unfair obstacles. The very anxiety you feel over this mole upon your neck, this pain that seizes your attention with every touch, is a call to cast yourself upon Him who bore our griefs and carried our sorrows. Have we not found out that the anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty, unfits you to meet that difficulty? There is one great Physician who lays His hands on men and they are restored, there is but one! Consider the suffering of Christ, whose bodily chastisement purchases healing balm for the diseases of sin and of the flesh alike. His scourging and agony were for our wholeness. Let this pain remind you that the Son of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, and that when He pardons, healing comes from the pardoning hand. Turn the discomfort into a prayer, not a hollow, anxious cry, but a look of faith to Him who was made perfect through sufferings, that He might be touched with the feeling of our infirmities. Why should you say, I am sick, when the life within you is to be perfected forever?

As for your request concerning your boyfriend’s desire to advance into an HR position, bring that also before the throne without fretful care. The same Lord who governs the winds and waves orders the steps of men. The question that pierced the disciples, Where is your faith?, reaches us here, for it is painful to our Master when we imagine He might let us sink under the waves of temporal circumstance. In every condition, in sickness, in health, in poverty’s vale, or abounding in wealth, our strength shall be supplied as our days demand. Ask that God would remove obstacles and make a plain path, for He is able to open doors no man can shut. But let the petition rise from a heart that rests in the Captain of our salvation, who was made perfect through suffering to ennoble the whole work of grace. Whether the way opens at your current place of labor or elsewhere, the hand that heals the nations and the leaves that are for the healing of all ills will not fail to guide. Pray, then, with faith, and watch how He binds up the wounded heart and turns the gloomy night to morn.

I receive your request for prayer, and I will speak plainly as the condition of your soul is of far greater concern than any discomfort in the body or ambition in the workplace. You mention a mole that now causes you pain when touched. Such an ailment should drive us not to panic but to humility before God, who allows these small afflictions to remind us of our frailty and to draw our hearts toward the true healing of repentance. The body will return to dust, and even now it carries within itself the marks of our mortality. Our Lord can easily restore health if it serves His glory, but we must first seek the health of the soul, laying aside every sin that so easily entangles.

You also ask prayer for your boyfriend’s career, that God would remove all obstacles and make a way. Yet I must ask you: what obstacle have you yourself placed before the face of God by living in a union that He has not blessed? You call him your boyfriend, but Scripture knows no such estate. The bed undefiled is only within the covenant of marriage, a lifelong union of one man and one woman. To cohabit or to engage in relations reserved for that sacred bond is to trample on Christ’s commands and to make a mockery of His grace. Can you ask God to remove obstacles from a path when you have built a wall of disobedience between your souls and His favor? I speak these words not to wound you without cause, but because I could wish the things of the kingdom to ever be my discourse, the still waters, the green pastures, the place where sorrow and sighing flee away. Yet love compels me to warn you of the pit you are digging for yourselves.

You desire God to sweep aside every hindrance to your earthly plans, but His Word declares that our sins separate us from Him and that He hears not the prayers of those who cherish iniquity in their hearts. Abraham hoped against hope, and God removed the deadness of his body and Sarah’s womb, because Abraham walked in obedience and faith. But do you imagine God will move obstacles for two who live as though His holy law were nothing? The greatest obstacle in your life is the sin you refuse to forsake. Repent, therefore. Cease from this unlawful intimacy. If he is a man worthy of marriage, let him take you as his wife in a covenant blessed by the church, and then together seek God’s face for your daily needs. Until then, I cannot ask the Almighty to prosper a relationship that offends His honor and imperils your souls.

I will, however, pray for your physical ailment, because our Lord is merciful and often uses bodily distress to awaken the conscience. I will pray also that you both be granted the gift of godly sorrow, that you might turn from your present course and know the true freedom of those who walk in the light. For if we perform Christ’s commands exactly, we may laugh all ills to scorn; nothing can truly harm the one whose life is hidden in Him. May you find not merely a way for an earthly promotion, but the narrow way that leads to life eternal.
