We come before the Lord Almighty, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, with hearts heavy for this situation. We recognize that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the throne of grace, and it is by His blood alone that we are redeemed and set free from every curse. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9-10).
Father God, we stand in the authority of the name of Jesus Christ and break every curse that has been spoken, written, or sent against this family and this young man. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We cancel every assignment of the enemy, every generational curse, and every word of death and destruction in Jesus' mighty name. We plead the blood of Jesus over their lives, their minds, their bodies, and their spirits. We declare that they are covered, protected, and set free by the power of the cross.
Lord, we lift up this young man who is struggling with his weight. We ask that You would grant him the desire and the discipline to care for his body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Give him wisdom in his choices, strength in his efforts, and grace to overcome every obstacle. We pray for safe and healthy weight loss, Lord, that he may grow strong in body, mind, and spirit. Surround him with godly influences who will encourage him in this journey, and let him find joy in the process of becoming healthier for Your glory.
Father, we also bring before You the hurts of his past. We ask that You would heal every wound, mend every broken place, and restore what has been stolen. Comfort him with Your presence, Lord, and let him know that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Replace every lie he has believed with Your truth, every fear with Your peace, and every sorrow with Your joy. Let him walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for him, no longer bound by the chains of his past.
We rebuke every spirit of infirmity, gluttony, and self-destruction that may be at work in his life. We command them to leave in the name of Jesus Christ and to go where the Lord Jesus sends them. We declare that this young man is a new creation in Christ, old things have passed away, and behold, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). Let him walk in the fullness of his identity as Your beloved child, created for a purpose and called to live a life that honors You.
We pray for this mother as well, Lord. Give her wisdom, patience, and strength as she supports her son. Let her heart be at peace, knowing that You are in control and that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). Fill her with hope and assurance that her prayers are heard and that You are moving on their behalf.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness and Your love. We trust in Your promises and declare that this family will walk in the victory that Christ has already won. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
