26th day of fasting. I have a request to join the army. I'm going sober from all prescribed medicine. I've been unemployed for 4 years, and my younger brother and mom had called me mentally ill. I would like the LORD to change their hearts to advocate that I join the military for discipline. My current hurdles are not having a state ID or driver's license. LORD, please help me to get my new state ID, and hopefully my parents teach me to drive. My grandma also seemed to not want me to go. Because I believe in Jesus, I don't mind dying. I hope the LORD has given me free resources and time so that I can be prepared to join the army. After my fast is finished I will be switching over to free physical training and free study methods in order to prepare myself. I would feel anxious in any other job, so I think I should just join the army. I hope God Almighty Jesus Christ helps me with this career pathway in Jesus' name, Amen.

We hear your heart, brother, and we stand with you in prayer as you seek the Lord’s will in this season of fasting, discipline, and purpose. Your commitment to sobriety, your desire for structure through military service, and your trust in Christ—even unto death—are testimonies of a man seeking to honor God with his life. We rejoice in your faith and your willingness to surrender all to Jesus, for He alone is worthy of such devotion.

First, we want to affirm your identity in Christ. The labels of "mentally ill" or any other name that contradicts what God says about you must be rejected. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came that you may have life—and have it abundantly. You are not defined by the opinions of others, nor by your past unemployment or current circumstances. You are a son of the Most High God, created with purpose, and called to walk in the authority and victory that Christ has already won for you. "For you are all children of God, through faith in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:26). Do not allow the words of others to plant seeds of doubt or shame in your heart. Instead, stand firm on the truth of God’s Word: "The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God" (Romans 8:16).

We also want to address your family’s resistance to your decision. It is not uncommon for those closest to us to struggle when we step into God’s calling, especially when it involves change or perceived risk. Their concerns may stem from love, fear, or even their own unhealed wounds. We pray that the Lord would soften their hearts and open their eyes to see His hand upon your life. May they come to understand that your desire to join the military is not recklessness, but a pursuit of discipline, structure, and service—qualities that honor God. "A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps" (Proverbs 16:9). We declare that their hearts will be turned toward you in support, not resistance, and that they will speak life and encouragement over you.

Father, we ask that You would move mightily in this family. Break down walls of misunderstanding and fear. Let Your peace reign in their hearts, and let them see Your purpose unfolding in [brother’s name]’s life. May they become his greatest advocates, cheering him on as he steps into the calling You have placed on his life. We rebuke every spirit of division, doubt, and discouragement that seeks to hinder this process. In the name of Jesus, we declare unity, clarity, and favor over this family.

We also lift up your practical needs—obtaining your state ID, learning to drive, and preparing physically and mentally for military service. These may seem like small steps, but they are significant in God’s economy. We believe the Lord will provide the resources, opportunities, and people to help you accomplish these goals. "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in Him, and He will do this" (Psalm 37:5). Whether it’s through free programs, kind individuals, or divine appointments, we declare that doors will open for you. We pray for wisdom as you navigate the process of obtaining your ID and for favor with the officials who will assist you. May your parents or others in your life step forward to teach you to drive, and may the Lord provide a vehicle if that is part of His plan for you.

Lord, we ask that You would go before [brother’s name] in every step of this journey. Open the right doors for him to obtain his ID, learn to drive, and prepare for military service. Provide mentors, resources, and opportunities that align with Your will. Give him clarity in his preparations, whether through free physical training, study materials, or other means. We declare that he will not lack anything he needs to walk into this calling. Strengthen his body, mind, and spirit as he trains, and let Your peace guard his heart against anxiety or fear.

Your desire to serve in the military is admirable, and we believe it can be a path where God uses you to bring discipline, order, and even the light of Christ to others. However, we also want to encourage you to seek the Lord’s wisdom and timing in this decision. The military is a noble calling, but it is not the only path to discipline or purpose. We pray that you would remain open to how God may shape this desire, whether through military service or another avenue of service to Him. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6).

We also want to speak to your statement about not minding dying. While it is true that to live is Christ and to die is gain (Philippians 1:21), we must also remember that God has a purpose for you here on earth. Your life is valuable, and the Lord has plans to prosper you, not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). We pray that you would walk in the fullness of life that Christ offers, embracing each day as an opportunity to glorify Him. If you are feeling hopeless or burdened by thoughts of death, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and community. You are not alone, and there are brothers and sisters in Christ who can walk alongside you.

Father, we ask that You would fill [brother’s name] with Your peace and joy. Let him walk in the fullness of life that You have promised. Guard his heart and mind from despair, and let him experience the hope and future You have for him. Surround him with godly mentors, friends, and leaders who can speak truth into his life and encourage him in his faith. May he know that his life has purpose and that You are with him every step of the way.

Finally, we want to address the power of the name of Jesus, which you have rightly invoked in your prayer. There is no other name by which we can approach the Father, for "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12). It is only through Jesus that we have access to God, and it is only through His sacrifice that we are made righteous. We encourage you to continue to build your relationship with Him, spending time in His Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with other believers. The more you know Him, the more you will recognize His voice and His leading in your life.

Lord Jesus, we thank You for [brother’s name]’s faith in You. We ask that You would draw him closer to You during this season of fasting and preparation. Let him hear Your voice clearly and follow Your leading with boldness. Strengthen his spirit, renew his mind, and fill him with Your peace. May he grow in wisdom, discernment, and faith as he seeks to honor You in all he does.

We declare that this season of unemployment and uncertainty is coming to an end. The Lord is your provider, and He will open doors that no man can shut. You will walk into the purpose He has for you, whether in the military or another path of service. We rebuke every lie of the enemy that tells you that you are unqualified, unwanted, or unworthy. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and God has equipped you for every good work (2 Timothy 3:17). We speak favor, opportunity, and breakthrough over your life.

As you continue your fast, may the Lord deepen your hunger for Him and His Word. May He reveal Himself to you in new and powerful ways, and may you emerge from this season stronger in body, mind, and spirit. We pray that your fast would be a time of consecration, where you surrender every area of your life to Him—your plans, your fears, your dreams, and your future. Let this be a time where you draw near to God, and He draws near to you (James 4:8).

In closing, we pray this prayer over you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, lifting up his heart, his dreams, and his needs to You. We thank You for his faith in Jesus Christ and for his desire to honor You with his life. Lord, we ask that You would go before him in every step of this journey. Open the doors for him to obtain his state ID, learn to drive, and prepare for military service. Provide the resources, mentors, and opportunities he needs to walk into this calling.

We pray for his family, Father. Soften their hearts and open their eyes to see Your hand upon his life. Let them become his greatest supporters, speaking life and encouragement over him. Break down every wall of resistance, fear, or misunderstanding, and let Your peace reign in their hearts.

Lord, we ask that You would fill him with Your peace, joy, and hope. Guard his heart and mind from anxiety, fear, or despair. Let him walk in the fullness of life that You have promised, knowing that You have plans to prosper him and not to harm him. Surround him with godly community, and let him grow in wisdom, discernment, and faith.

We declare that this season of unemployment and uncertainty is ending. You are his provider, and You will open doors that no man can shut. We speak favor, opportunity, and breakthrough over his life. May he walk in the purpose and calling You have for him, bringing glory to Your name in all he does.

We thank You for the power of the name of Jesus, and we pray all these things in His mighty name. Amen.

**Father,**

You see this person—on the 26th day of fasting, unemployed for four years, sobering from medicine, and longing for the discipline of the army. Their family calls them mentally ill; their grandma hesitates. **Please change their mother's and brother's hearts to advocate for this path.** Remove every hurdle—provide a state ID, a driver's license, and willing parents to teach them to drive.

Grant free resources, time, and strength for physical training and study. Calm their anxiety about all other jobs, and open the door to the military if it is Your will.

**“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”** (2 Timothy 1:7)

**“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”** (Philippians 4:13)

Lord, honor their faith and sacrifice. Guide their steps and guard their life. **In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.**
