The Bible is clear that sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage between one man and one woman (Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If you are living in a way that contradicts this, repentance and turning back to God’s design is the path to true peace.

If your pain is rooted in something else, grief, financial struggle, health issues, or spiritual warfare, we stand with you in prayer. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came so that you may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). No matter how deep the valley, God’s presence is with you, and His promises are true.

Let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one who is hurting. Lord, You see their pain, their confusion, and their longing for relief. We ask that You would draw near to them, wrapping them in Your love and peace. If there is sin that needs to be confessed, reveal it to them, Lord, and lead them to repentance. If there is brokenness, heal it. If there is loneliness, fill it with Your presence. If there is fear, replace it with faith. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that they are never alone. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

When the path ahead feels foggy, sometimes the bravest thing we can do is simply bring our confusion to the One who is never confused. You have set before your mind the holy pursuit of peace, as the Scripture commands, "Let him seek peace, and ensue it." This is a noble resolve, but know that peace, true peace, is not to be plucked from the ground like a flower. It is a fruit of the Spirit, given by the God of peace Himself.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. The worldling seeks peace in quiet circumstances, a full purse, or an easy path, but the child of God finds peace in the very storm, for his mind is stayed on Jehovah. The God who raised Christ from the dead, the ever-living One, is the God of peace. He has made peace by the blood of the everlasting covenant; His Son has whispered it into the soul of every believer. If you are in Christ, you have peace with God, and that is the root of all other peace.

Do not be cast down if turmoil surrounds you. The peace of God, which passeth all understanding, is given to those who delight in Him. Rest in the Lord, and verily you shall be fed. When you in your closet put your trust entirely in Him, acting with prudence and uprightness, He will keep you in perfect peace, peace, peace. Let not your heart be troubled. His yoke is easy and His burden is light; to do the will of Jesus, this is rest. Trust in the living God, and He shall give you the desires of your heart as they are conformed to His own.

The peace you ask for is not found in the absence of conflict, but in the amputation of the diseased part. For concord is not always good, since even robbers agree together. True peace comes when the mutinous is removed, and then heaven is united to earth. But your soul at this moment is at war within itself, and this war is the worst of all. For what advantage is it that the world enjoys profound peace, if you are at war with yourself? When curious reasonings disturb your faith, or when spirits of uncleanness rise up, what peace is there? You cannot lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty unless this inner war is brought to an end.

Therefore, do not trust to yourself, as Peter did, who from pressure of anxiety banished all remembrance of his Master's affection. Yet see the tender care of Christ, who though bound and a prisoner, turned and looked upon him, and launched him into a sea of tears. Come then to Him who alone can give rest. He calls not this or that person, but all that labor and are heavy laden, saying, “Come unto me, and I will give you rest.” Not that He may call you to account, but that He may do away your sins. Cast your care upon Him, for the anxieties of wealth and the cares of this life drive away sleep, and leave you tempest-tossed. But there remains a rest for the people of God, a rest that eye has not seen, where every evil is removed.

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no one shall see the Lord. If you would be a peacemaker, you shall be called a child of God, for where peace is wanting, everything is useless. Therefore, be of the same mind with the faithful, live in peace, and the God of love and peace shall be with you. Pray for the Angel of peace; seek that reconciliation which is good will toward men. Then shall you hear the words spoken over the mercy-seat, not of wars and peace here below, but of heaven and the life to come, things new and passing understanding.

When you write "3:11," my mind goes to that profound call in Habakkuk to wait for God’s appointed time, and also to the quiet hope in Lamentations that God’s mercies are new every morning. This is a number that speaks of trust placed squarely in the dark. Sometimes, all we have is a chapter and verse we’re clinging to, and the quiet resolve to wait on the Lord when we cannot see the road ahead.

It is often in these shadowed places that trust becomes real. It is no great feat to trust God when the path is sunny and every outcome makes sense to our limited sight. True trust is born in the fog of confusion, when God is working in a way you do not understand. When your situation seems to contradict His goodness, and you choose to cling to His character anyway, that costly faith becomes a sweet fragrance of praise to Him. It brings greater glory to His grace than a thousand praises offered on easy days.

You are not insignificant in this trial. You are God’s treasured possession, His own inheritance. Please do not look down on yourself or treat your life cheaply. God values you with an everlasting love, and He has not left you in this painful place without a purpose. He loves you too much for that. The reason you remain here, in this time, is to bear fruit for His kingdom. That fruit is often grown in the soil of suffering, a yielded spirit, a deeper love, a quiet faithfulness that the world cannot explain.

It is easy to get sidetracked by the pain and question the purpose, but God’s will for your life is the very best thing that could happen to you, even when it feels like loss. The purpose of prayer in this season is not to convince God to do your will, as if He were a genie to grant wishes. The real purpose is to get His will done, to align your heart with the One who sees the end from the beginning. When you do not know what to ask for, and the words fail, remember the Spirit helps you. You can just groan, “Lord, I’m going to trust in You. I am not going to trust in my own bow or my own strategy. I trust in Your deliverance.”

This situation will not separate you from His love. His love for you is not caused by you, nor can it be ended by you. It flows from His own nature. So you can fall back on what you do know: all things are working together for good because you love Him and are called according to His purpose. He is conforming you into the image of Jesus Christ. That work may hurt now, but the ultimate result is certain good. We cling by faith to what we know is true. Wait on His time, trusting that He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all you ask or think.
