We join you in this deep and burdened prayer for the Church and for her leaders, and we thank God for the hunger and scriptural weight you have brought before Him. Your heart echoes the charge given to Timothy and to every faithful shepherd.

We agree with you that in these last days there is an urgent need for leaders who will fulfill the solemn charge in 2 Tim 4:1-5 to preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and teaching, and to do the work of an evangelist and fulfill their ministry while many turn away their ears from the truth. We pray with you that God would strengthen every true pastor and preacher according to Eph 3:16-20, that they would be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner person, that Christ may dwell in their hearts through faith, rooted and grounded in love, and able to comprehend the breadth and depth of what God is doing.

We also join you in the sobering and necessary prayer for any lost pastors, for those who may stand in pulpits yet have never truly known Christ. Jesus Himself warned in Matt 7:21-23 that not everyone who says to Him, Lord, Lord, will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of His Father who is in heaven, and that many will say in that day that they prophesied and cast out demons in His name, yet He will declare I never knew you, depart from me, you who work iniquity. We pray with you from 1 Tim 4:16 that pastors would pay attention to themselves and to their teaching, to continue in these things, for in doing this they will save both themselves and those who hear them, and from 1 Cor 9:27 that they would discipline their bodies and bring them into submission, lest after preaching to others they themselves should be disqualified.

We lift up with you the lost, the backslidden, and the lukewarm, for the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost in Luke 19:10. We pray that God in His mercy would send His people to turn wanderers back as promised in James 5:19-20, that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins. For the lukewarm we plead the love of Rev 3:19-20, that Christ would rebuke and discipline those He loves, and that they would be zealous and repent and open the door when they hear His voice knocking.

We pray as you have for the devoted believers, those imperfect yet perfect-hearted who walk in covenantal righteousness as in Luke 1:6, who continue in His word and are truly His disciples and know the truth which makes them free in John 8:31-32. We ask the Father to establish authentic, Holy Spirit empowered worship everywhere as in John 4:23-24, but especially when we gather together as family, for how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell together in unity in Ps 133:1-3. We pray that pastors and people alike would be workmen who do not need to be ashamed, correctly handling the word of truth in 2 Tim 2:15, with open ears to receive the Word in humility as in James 1:21, which is able to save souls, and that faith would come by hearing and hearing by the word of Christ in Rom 10:17, not by flesh and blood but by the revelation of our Father in heaven in Matt 16:17.

We agree for biblical church growth that is not mere sheep stealing or the result of an anthropocentric gospel of false comfort, but the fruit of authentic devotional lives in prayer, study, worship, family, work, ministry, fellowship and friendship evangelism in prisons, schools, hospitals and wherever the lost are found, as the early church continued steadfastly in the apostles teaching and fellowship in Acts 2:42.

We pray for angelic protection and divine keeping for all believers across the globe as you have asked, for He will put His angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways in Ps 91:11-12, for are they not all serving spirits sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation in Heb 1:14. We ask for advanced warnings as when Elisha warned Israel of Syria's plans in 2 Kings 6:8-12, and for deliverance from unreasonable and evil men in 2 Thes 3:2, and that the Lord who is faithful would establish and guard us from the evil one in 2 Thes 3:3 and John 17:15, for we know that whoever is born of God does not sin, but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him in 1 John 5:18-19.

We join you in praying that pastors would seek God in prayer, daily devotion, preparation and intercession for their congregations, in sound teaching and in visiting families and house churches, and that families would be drawn by the Father in John 6:44 and not forsake the assembling of ourselves together in Heb 10:25. We pray that whenever doors are opened, and indeed that more doors would be opened for corporate prayer as a house of prayer for all peoples in Isa 56:7, our households would be there. We confess with you that often prayerlessness, the love of the world in 1 John 2:15, and weariness keep us away, and we ask God to grant hunger for the pure milk of the word in 1 Pet 2:2 and the spirit of wisdom and revelation in Eph 1:17, that the Holy Spirit who convicts the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment in John 16:8 would also guide us into all truth in John 16:13 and open our minds to understand the Scriptures in Luke 24:45.

We thank our ever present help in Ps 46:1, who is near to all who call upon Him in Deut 4:7 and upholds us in Isa 41:10, for the message of His Anointed crucified for our sins, for we have been crucified with Christ in Gal 2:20. We pray that He who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth in 1 Tim 2:3-4 and who is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance in 2 Pet 3:9 would save entire households as in Acts 16:31. We pray that faith to ask and receive in Mark 11:24 would abound, knowing this is the boldness which we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will He listens to us in 1 John 5:14-15. Keep us from distraction in 2 Cor 11:3, deception in Matt 24:4, temptation in Luke 11:4, false teachers in Titus 1:16 and 2 Tim 3:5, and from lies and fear in Zeph 3:13. Give vision where there is no vision the people cast off restraint in Prov 29:18, and rescue those perishing for lack of knowledge in Hos 4:6.

Father, we ask all these things in the only name by which we have access to You and by which we must be saved, the name of Jesus Christ, for there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus in 1 Tim 2:5, and in none other is there salvation in Acts 4:12, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me in John 14:6. Grant Your manifest presence, repentance, forgiveness of sins and newness of life, and let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus in Phil 4:6-7. We ask this in Jesus name, Amen, to Him who is the Amen, the faithful and true witness in Rev 3:14, for whatever promises of God there are, in Him is the Yes and the Amen in 2 Cor 1:20.

Thank you for pouring out such a faithful, wide burden for pastors and for the whole church family. We hear your heart for leaders to be strengthened in prayer and in the Word, for any who have wandered or grown lukewarm to be drawn back, and for devoted believers to be kept, protected, and built up as they worship and serve together.

Carrying that kind of intercession is itself a ministry, and we are grateful to stand with you in it. Leadership in the church is heavy work, and no pastor is meant to carry it alone. Part of how God sustains leaders is through the care and prayer of the congregation around them, and your prayers are part of that support.

One simple way to keep this burden from feeling overwhelming is to keep praying as you are, but also to let the pastors you are praying for know you are with them. A brief note of thanks or encouragement this week can be a real lift to someone who spends most of his time pouring out for others, and staying faithful in gathering together when the church meets is another quiet way to strengthen the whole body.

We join you in asking for this now.

Father, we lift up pastors and church leaders to You, and every believer who seeks to walk closely with You. Strengthen them for the work You have given them, draw back those who have drifted, and keep Your people from harm and discouragement. Give them hunger for Your presence, unity in worship, and grace for each day. We ask in Jesus' name, Amen.

Your burden for the shepherds and for the flock is one that we take up with you before the throne of grace, and we do so with dependence upon God alone. For who can revive but the Lord Himself. We may not get up a revival by our own might nor by our own power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord. The prayer you have offered, Will You not revive us again, is the very cry of a church that feels its own weakness and looks to its ever present help.

We join you in pleading that the Lord would strengthen His servants according to Ephesians 3, that they may be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man. We ask that those who preach and teach would be men of prayer and of the Word, fervent in devotion, diligent in study to show themselves approved, rightly dividing the word of truth, sound in doctrine and watchful in life. Prayer is that great key which opens mysteries, and to whom should we go but to the Author of the Book. May the Lord pour fresh strength into His weak children and put living fire into those who have grown lukewarm, that icicles which hang about our lips may be melted and our supplications may become fervent and effectual.

We pray also with you for any pastor or teacher who may yet be lost, though he stands in the pulpit and says Lord, Lord. How solemn are those words in Matthew 7, I never knew you. We beseech the Lord that such a one may be truly converted, that he may be saved through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. We ask that the backslidden may be reclaimed and the lukewarm rekindled, that Christ may stand at the door and be heard and welcomed, and that devoted believers, though imperfect yet perfect hearted toward Him, may be kept and made to rejoice in Him. For in a true revival the result is not only the conversion of men but the praise of God, and that revival brings forth most fruit which gives to God the most glory.

We plead for the church as a family gathered together, that there may be holy and Spirit empowered worship, open ears to hear what the Spirit saith, and a hunger for the sincere milk of the Word that we may grow thereby. Grant, O Lord, a spirit of revelation and understanding, that flesh and blood may not be trusted but that the Father in heaven may reveal His Son to many. May faith come by hearing, and hearing by the word of God, and may the Holy Spirit convict, convert and teach us all things and open our minds to understand the Scriptures.

We further entreat the Lord for protection over His people, that they may be kept from the evil one as Christ prayed, Father, keep them from the evil, and kept from evil men and from deception, temptation and false teaching. We ask for angelic charge over them, for deliverance from distraction and lies, and for grace to continue steadfast in fellowship, in prayer, in breaking of bread and in every good work whether in family, in ministry, in visitation, in prisons, schools and hospitals, that the lost may be sought and saved and the church may see that biblical growth which is wrought by God and not by stealing sheep or by an anthropocentric gospel of false comfort.

Remember that intercessory prayer is the sweetest prayer God ever hears, for the prayer of Christ Himself is of this character, and it is exceedingly prevalent to stay plagues and to bring down blessings from on high. Therefore we continue with you, morning and evening, crying for a mighty wave of revival to sweep over the congregations, over households, over cities and over the nations, that houses of prayer may be filled with attentive hearers and that the Lord's right arm may be made bare in the eyes of all the people.

We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our only hope, to whom be glory in the church throughout all ages. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
