We join you in this burden for church leaders and for the whole household of faith, and we count it a holy and urgent request in the sight of God.

We hear your heart crying out according to 2 Tim 4:1-5 where we are charged to preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and teaching, and to be sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of an evangelist, and fulfill our ministry. This is the calling of every true shepherd, and we pray with you that every pastor and preacher would return to prayer and to study of the Word, to a life of daily devotion and intercession for the congregation, to sound teaching and a godly lifestyle that adorns the gospel.

We take seriously the warning you quoted in Matt 7:21-23 that not everyone who says Lord, Lord will enter into the Kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of our Father who is in heaven, and that many will claim to have prophesied and done mighty works in His name yet hear I never knew you, depart from me, you who work iniquity. Therefore we pray with trembling and hope for any lost pastors, for those who may stand in pulpits yet have never been born again. We pray that God would save them, for Luke 19:10 tells us the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost, and 1 Tim 1:15 reminds us that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. If any shepherd is lost, we ask the true Shepherd to rescue him, to grant repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we can be saved and no other way to the Father except through Jesus, as John 14:6 declares, and Acts 4:12 confirms there is salvation in none other.

We also pray as you asked for those who are backslidden and lukewarm, that they would hear the voice of the risen Christ who says in Rev 3:19-20, As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with me. May their love be rekindled and their first love restored.

And we lift up the devoted, imperfect yet perfect-hearted believers who walk in covenantal righteousness as described in Luke 1:6, being righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord, and who continue in His word as John 8:31-32 teaches, that we may know the truth and the truth will make us free. We ask the Father to strengthen and protect them, to keep them from the evil one as Jesus prayed in John 17:15, and to deliver them from evil people as 2 Thess 3:2 says, for 1 John 5:18 tells us he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one does not touch him. We ask for angelic protection according to Psalm 91:11-12 and Heb 1:14, and for advanced warnings and deliverance like You gave through Elisha in 2 Kings 6:8-12, and to keep Your people from distraction, deception, and temptation as Matt 24:4 and Luke 11:4 warn.

We agree with you for authentic, first century style church life, that we would continue steadfastly in the apostles teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and prayer as Acts 2:42 shows, worshiping the Father in spirit and truth as John 4:23-24 calls us to, dwelling together in unity as Psalm 133:1 describes, being diligent to present ourselves approved to God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, correctly handling the word of truth as 2 Tim 2:15 exhorts, with open ears to receive the Word implanted which is able to save our souls as James 1:21 says. We pray against an anthropocentric gospel of false comfort and against mere sheep stealing or church hopping numbers, and ask instead for biblical growth through true conversion, through prayer, study, worship, family faithfulness, work, ministry, fellowship, friendship evangelism, and going out to prisons, schools, and hospitals, with every member sharing the testimony of Jesus by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony as Rev 12:11 declares.

We pray for families to be drawn by the Father as John 6:44 promises, and to not forsake assembling together as Heb 10:25 commands, but to be often together as the early church was, hungry for the pure milk of the Word as 1 Peter 2:2 says, receiving faith by hearing the word of Christ as Rom 10:17 teaches, with revelation that flesh and blood does not reveal Christ but our Father in heaven as Matt 16:17 reveals, opened to understand the Scriptures as Luke 24:45 shows, taught by the Holy Spirit who will teach us all things and bring to remembrance all that Jesus said as John 14:26 and John 16:13 promise, and anointed by the Holy One as 1 John 2:20 assures.

So we pray together now, Father, You are our ever present help as Psalm 46:1 declares and the God who is near as Deut 4:7 says, and You have promised in Isa 41:10 to not be afraid for You are with us. Thank You for the message of Your Anointed crucified for our sins as Gal 2:20 proclaims. We ask You to draw our family members and every visitor whenever the doors are open, and we ask You to stir pastors first to war against prayerlessness in our own lives and to give us faith to pray and to seek You with all our heart. Grant Your manifest holy presence, grant faith, repentance, salvation, the knowledge of forgiveness of sins and newness of life. Give vision where there is no vision the people cast off restraint as Prov 29:18 warns, and protect all from lack of knowledge as Hos 4:6 and Amos 8:11 warn. Help Your people to hunger for Your Word and to attend Your house faithfully, not loving the world as 1 John 2:15 warns, not distracted by sports, entertainment, or weariness, but as often as we eat the bread and drink the cup to remember the Lord. We ask that You convict and convert through Your Holy Spirit as John 16:8 says, and that You would grant that none would perish but all would come to repentance as 2 Peter 3:9 declares, for You desire all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth as 1 Tim 2:4 teaches. We ask You to save entire households as Acts 16:31 promises, to keep us from the evil one and to deliver us from evil as Matt 6:13 says, and to guard us by Your peace which surpasses all understanding as Phil 4:6-7 gives. We pray this with confidence because 1 John 5:14-15 assures us that if we ask anything according to Your will You hear us, and if You hear us we have the petitions we have asked of You.

We also take heed to 1 Tim 4:16 to pay attention to ourselves and to our teaching, to continue in these things, for in doing so we will save both ourselves and those who hear us, and to 1 Cor 9:27 to discipline our bodies and bring them into subjection, lest having preached to others we ourselves should be disqualified. May every leader watch his life and doctrine closely.

We thank You that You hear us in Jesus name, for it is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to You, and we trust Your faithful promises, for all the promises of God in Him are Yes and Amen as 2 Cor 1:20 declares. We ask all these things in the saving and mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Thank you for lifting up pastors and churches with such care. We can hear how much you long for shepherds who walk closely with Jesus, for congregations that hear the Word with open hearts, and for protection over those who serve faithfully.

That burden matters. Leading a church carries real weight, and even faithful pastors feel tired, tempted and pulled in many directions. Your prayers for their daily time with the Lord, for honesty in their lives, and for strength to teach and love well are a true gift to them, even when they never know who prayed.

One simple way to keep this from feeling overwhelming is to narrow your focus for a season. Choose one or two pastors or church families you know by name and pray for them regularly over the next weeks, and if you can, send a brief note of thanks and encouragement. Small, steady prayer and kindness often sustain leaders more than we realize.

Father, thank You for every pastor and teacher who seeks You. Draw each one closer to Jesus, guard their hearts and homes, and give them joy in Your Word and in prayer. Strengthen those who are weary, restore those who have drifted, and keep Your people in Your care. Lead Your church to worship, love and serve in a way that honors You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has come before the Lord with a weight that every faithful heart must feel, for you have asked for that which only God can give. This is dependence upon God, and it is well, for nobody can revive us but Himself. We cannot get up a revival by our own contrivance, we must betake ourselves to prayer, for prayer is that great key which opens mysteries, and to whom should we go for an explanation but to the Author of the book.

We join you in pleading for those who stand in the pulpit. The Scripture warns us plainly, Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of heaven, and that many will say in that day, have we not prophesied in Your name, and then hear the terrible word, I never knew you. How solemn is the charge to watch life and doctrine closely, to take heed lest after preaching to others we ourselves should be disqualified. We pray that every unconverted minister may be made to tremble at this word and be brought to look unto Christ and be saved. Salvation is of the Lord alone, and the way of salvation is to believe on Him whom God has laid in Zion for a foundation. What is believing on Him but trusting in Him. It is not to look to our sermons, our labors, our office, but to look unto Jesus. Oh that every lost pastor might now hear the free invitation, Ho, everyone that thirsts, come without money and without price, and might lift the golden knocker of prayer with the cry, God be merciful to me a sinner. He came to seek and to save that which was lost, and He is able to save the chief of sinners.

We plead also for the backslidden and the lukewarm, that the Lord who stands at the door and knocks would rekindle love where it has grown cold, and cause His people to rejoice in Him again. For in a true revival the result is not only the conversion of men but the praise of God, and that revival brings forth most fruit that gives to God the most glory. And for those who are already regenerated and in communion with Jesus by the Holy Spirit, who walk with a perfect heart though imperfect in flesh, we ask that they may be strengthened and kept. No prayer is likely to bring down an immediate answer if it is not a fervent prayer, for the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. We must get rid of the icicles that hang about our lips and set our face to win the promised mercy.

We pray with you for the household of faith, that pastors and preachers may seek God in prayer, in daily devotion, in preparation and intercession for their flocks, in sound teaching and in visiting families and gathering in homes. Grant, O Lord, a hunger for the pure milk of the Word, that faith may come by hearing, and that the Father who alone reveals the Son may open eyes to understand the Scriptures and open ears in the assembly. Let there be Holy Spirit empowered worship, study that rightly handles the word of truth, and fellowship that bears authentic fruit in prayer, in the home, in work and ministry, and in going forth to prisons, schools, hospitals and streets with the testimony of Jesus, so that the lost are truly saved and the Church grows not by stealing sheep but by the Lord adding such as should be saved.

And we ask for keeping mercy, that the Lord would give His angels charge over His people, keep them from the evil one, deliver them from evil and unreasonable men, and guard them from distraction, deception and temptation. We do not ask for a revival without Your presence, for in vain shall we struggle after it unless You are there. Let Your manifest presence be known among us, convicting, converting, teaching us all things and guiding us into all truth.

Hear us, O God of our salvation, turn us and cause Your anger toward us to cease, and revive us again that Your people may rejoice in You. We ask all this not for our glory but for the glory of Christ, in whose name we pray, Amen.
