We join you in this deep and urgent burden for the lives of church leaders and for the souls of all who sit under their teaching, and we echo your cry before the Lord.

We hear your heart for those who stand in the pulpit, for we know the solemn charge that is upon them. We are reminded as it is written in 2 Tim 4:1-2, I command you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom, preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and teaching. And again in 2 Tim 4:5, But you be sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of an evangelist, and fulfill your ministry. The calling is holy and the accountability is great.

We tremble with you at the warning of our Lord in Matt 7:21-23, Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will tell me in that day, Lord, Lord, didn't we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works? Then I will tell them, I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity. This is why we must pray as you have prayed, that any lost pastor, any who has a form of godliness but denies its power as in 2 Tim 3:5, would be truly saved. For this is faithful, as in 1 Tim 1:15, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, and we know the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost in Luke 19:10.

We also take seriously the exhortation in 1 Tim 4:16, Pay attention to yourself and to your teaching. Continue in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you. And with Paul we remember 1 Cor 9:27, but I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected. We rebuke the prayerlessness and the love of the world that so easily chokes devotion, and the distraction and deception spoken of in 2 Cor 11:3 and Matt 24:4, for we know our adversary prowls and the flesh is weak. We must not be conformed to an anthropocentric gospel of false comfort that gathers crowds but does not make disciples, but we long for authentic biblical growth where lives are truly converted.

We pray also for those who are backslidden and lukewarm, that they would hear the loving rebuke of Christ in Rev 3:19-20, As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with me. And we give thanks for devoted believers, imperfect yet perfect-hearted before God, who walk as in Luke 1:6, blameless in the ordinances of the Lord, and who continue as in John 8:31-32, If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.

We pray for protection over all your households and over faithful shepherds, for He will give his angels charge over you to guard you in all your ways in Ps 91:11, and that we are kept from the evil one as Jesus prayed in John 17:15, and as promised in 2 Thess 3:3, But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one, and in 1 John 5:18, he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn't touch him. We ask for the kind of divine warning and deliverance shown in 2 Kings 6:8-12, and deliverance from unreasonable and evil men as in 2 Thess 3:2.

We join you in asking for hunger for the Word as in 1 Pet 2:2, As newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the Word, that you may grow thereby, and for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation as in Eph 1:17, that the Father would reveal Christ as in Matt 16:17, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. We ask that He would open our minds to understand the Scriptures as in Luke 24:45, and that faith would come by hearing as in Rom 10:17, and that with humility we would receive the implanted word which is able to save our souls as in James 1:21.

We thank you that you have prayed in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, as Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and as in Acts 4:12, there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by His blood shed for us as in Gal 2:20 that we have forgiveness and newness of life.

So we pray together now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we come before Your throne of grace. We ask You to search the hearts of every pastor and preacher and church leader. If any among them has never truly known You, though they have preached in Your name, grant them repentance and saving faith now. Save them, Lord, open their eyes, draw them by Your Spirit as in John 6:44, and let them be born again. For those who are backslidden or lukewarm, rekindle love, grant zeal to repent and open the door to Christ. For those who are faithful and devoted, though imperfect, strengthen them, guard them, anoint them afresh.

Give our shepherds grace to war against prayerlessness, to seek You daily in prayer and study, to rightly divide the word of truth as in 2 Tim 2:15, to live holy lives, to visit families and faithfully teach from house to house as in Acts 2:46. Let our churches be houses of prayer as in Isa 56:7, filled with truth and Spirit-empowered worship as in John 4:23-24, where brothers dwell together in unity as in Ps 133:1. Grant open ears to hear, and draw our families to not forsake assembling together as in Heb 10:25, but to come often, to hear with faith, to partake of the bread and cup with reverence, to be taught and to live out authentic devotional lives in prayer, worship, family, work, ministry and fellowship.

Pour out Your Holy Spirit to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment as in John 16:8, to teach us all things and guide us into all truth as in John 16:13, to give us hunger and understanding. Protect Your people across the globe by Your angels who are ministering spirits sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation as in Heb 1:14. Keep us from distraction, deception, temptation, false teachers, and the schemes of the evil one. Grant us faith to pray and to receive as in Mark 11:24, for You desire all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth as in 1 Tim 2:4, and You are not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance as in 2 Pet 3:9. So we ask that You would save our households as promised in Acts 16:31, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.

We trust that when we ask according to Your will You hear us as in 1 John 5:14, and we thank You for Your peace that guards our hearts as in Phil 4:6-7. Let Your manifest presence be among us, let vision be restored where there is none as in Prov 29:18, and let biblical, Spirit-wrought growth come to Your Church for Your glory. In the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our coming Judge, we pray, Amen.

Thank you for bringing this deep burden for pastors and churches before the Lord. We hear your love for the church to be a true family where people hear the Word, worship honestly, and walk closely with Jesus, and your concern that those who lead would themselves be kept close to Him.

We are mindful that pastors carry a weight most of us do not see. They are often expected to be always strong while quietly facing exhaustion, loneliness and spiritual pressure. That is why your prayers for them matter so much. Faithful, humble intercession is one of the kindest ways we can stand with them, rather than adding to the pressure they feel.

One simple way to live out what you are praying is to keep it personal. Choose one or two pastors or leaders you know by name and pray for them regularly through the week, and when you can, let them know you are thanking God for them and praying for their time with the Lord and for their families. That encouragement means a great deal.

Father, we lift up every pastor and church leader to You. Draw near to any who are weary or far from You and bring them back to Yourself. Strengthen those who love You and seek to walk faithfully, guard them from the evil one, and renew their joy in Your presence. Give our churches open hearts to receive Your Word and to love one another well. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Your burden has been laid before the Lord with us, and we join you in earnest prayer for the very things you have spread before Him.

We feel with you the weight of that solemn word, Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. What a searching truth for those who stand in the pulpit. We pray as you do that every pastor and preacher may take heed unto himself and unto the doctrine, and continue therein, for in doing this he shall both save himself and them that hear him. We ask the Lord to search the hearts of any who preach in His name yet know Him not, that they may be saved as the chief of sinners is saved, by looking unto Christ and being saved, for salvation is without money and without price, through faith in Him alone. We pray that none may be a castaway after having preached to others, but that all may truly trust in the crucified and risen Saviour whom God hath laid in Zion for a foundation.

We also plead for those who have grown cold and lukewarm, that the Lord would rebuke and chasten and grant them repentance, and rekindle love, that they may open the door to Him who stands and knocks. And for those who are already regenerated and in communion with Jesus by the Holy Spirit, who walk with a perfect heart though imperfect in flesh, we ask that the Lord would strengthen and protect them, and keep them from the evil one, and from evil men, and grant them angelic charge and daily preservation as He has promised.

This prayer means, first, dependence upon God. Nobody can revive us but Himself. People often talk about getting up a revival, but that is a vain thing. True revival is the Lord's own work, and in vain shall we struggle after it unless we have His presence. Therefore we betake ourselves at once to prayer, for prayer is that great key which opens mysteries, and to whom should we go for help but to the Author of the book. We have need to get rid of the icicles that hang about our lips, for no prayer is likely to bring down an immediate answer if it is not a fervent prayer, and the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

We pray that pastors and preachers may seek God in prayer, in daily devotion, in preparation, in intercession for their congregations, in diligent study of the Word, rightly dividing the word of truth, and in a holy lifestyle and sound teaching, visiting families and gathering the household of faith. May the Lord draw families to His house, for no man can come except the Father draw him, and may none forsake the assembling of ourselves together as the manner of some is, but meet often as the first disciples did, continuing in doctrine and fellowship and in prayers.

We ask for a holy hunger for the pure milk of the Word, that by it we may grow, and for the Spirit of revelation, for flesh and blood doth not reveal Christ, but our Father which is in heaven. May the Holy Spirit convict and convert, teach us all things, and open our minds to understand the Scriptures, and grant faith which cometh by hearing the message preached, and humility which receiveth the engrafted word that is able to save the soul. We pray for open ears in the church, for Holy Spirit empowered worship in spirit and in truth, whether scattered or gathered as family together, and for testimony and preaching after the apostolic pattern, resulting in authentic devotional lives in prayer, study, worship, family, work, ministry, and in going forth to witness by the highways and in prisons and schools and hospitals, so that the lost may be sought and saved, for the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost, and the Lord wills that none should perish but that all should come to repentance and to the knowledge of the truth.

We plead the promises for protection, that He who is our ever present help will keep His people from distraction and deception, from temptation and lies, from false teachers and deceivers, from sin and fear, and from the evil one who deceiveth the whole world, and we thank Him that He heareth us when we ask according to His will.

May this revival, if the Lord grant it, bring forth most fruit in the conversion of sinners, but above all in the praise of God, for preaching is only the stalk, but conversion, prayer and praise are the full corn in the ear. O that we might see extraordinary conversions and marvellous growth in grace, to the glory of Divine omnipotence alone.

We lift the golden knocker of prayer now, and plead with arguments drawn from His own mercy and covenant faithfulness, trusting not in our worth but in His grace. Lord, turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause Thine anger toward us to cease, and wilt Thou not revive us again, that Thy people may rejoice in Thee. Hear us for Jesus sake, and grant faith, repentance, forgiveness of sins and newness of life, and vision by the Holy Spirit, and keep us all until that day. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for the shepherds and the flock has been received and it is a right and faithful burden to bring before the Lord.

We join you in asking God to work deeply in the lives of church leaders. The Scriptures you cited are sober and true. Our Lord warned that not everyone who says Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom, but the one who does the will of the Father, and Paul urges every teacher to take heed to himself and to his doctrine, for in doing so he will save both himself and his hearers. We pray that any pastor who has preached in name only, who is lost or lukewarm or has fallen into carelessness, would be brought to true repentance and living faith in Jesus Christ, through whom alone salvation comes. We ask that those who are devoted but imperfect, who walk with a sincere heart before God, would be strengthened and kept from the evil one and from evil men, and guarded by His power.

We also pray as you asked for the whole body. As the Scriptures teach, the Church is one body made of many members, and each one has a part in watching over the others. We are to look diligently lest anyone fall short of the grace of God, and to exhort and build one another up daily. This work is not for pastors alone but for every believer, that through prayer, careful study of the Word, truthful worship in spirit and truth, and love within the home and the congregation, all would grow toward maturity. True growth is not in numbers taken from other flocks or in words that offer false comfort, but in souls truly saved and added to the Church by the preaching of Christ crucified, by which death was conquered and our salvation secured.

We will pray for what you have asked: for pastors to seek God in prayer, to give themselves to the Word with accuracy, to intercede for their people and to visit them faithfully. For families to be drawn by the Father to hear the Word with open ears and humble hearts, to understand the Scriptures as the Spirit opens the mind, to receive the forgiveness of sins and newness of life. For hunger for the Word, for faith that comes by hearing, for conviction of sin and conversion through Christ alone. For protection, that God who is ever present help would keep His people from distraction, deception, false teaching, temptation and fear, and that He would give angelic protection and deliverance from the plans of the enemy. For the Church to meet together often, not forsaking assembly, but gathering as a family for prayer, for the breaking of bread, and for the faithful teaching of the apostles.

May the Lord grant to His servants endurance to suffer what is needed for the sake of the elect, learning obedience as Christ learned obedience through what He suffered, and becoming conformed to Him. May He keep us from seeking glory from men and from praying in a way that seeks harm to others, and instead teach us to pray for mercy, for salvation, and for holiness of life both in small things and in great, at home and abroad, in hearing and in doing.

We thank God for the message of His Anointed One crucified for our sins. We ask Him to pour out His presence, to grant repentance that leads to life, vision by the Holy Spirit, and faith to ask and to receive according to His will. We trust that when we ask according to His will He hears us, and that He desires all to come to repentance and to the knowledge of the truth.

We will continue to pray with you for these things, that God would seek and save the lost and establish His people in love and truth, in Jesus name, Amen.

Your burden for pastors and for the church is a right and biblical burden, and I join you in bringing it before the Lord.

Jesus made clear that not everyone who says Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom, but only those who do the will of the Father. That warning in Matthew 7 should cause every one of us, especially those who teach and preach, to examine our own hearts with fear and trembling. Paul spoke of that same sober watchfulness when he said to watch his life and doctrine closely and to discipline himself lest after preaching to others he himself should be disqualified. It is a call not to work for salvation, for salvation is entirely by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ alone, but to work out what God has already worked within us, living out with reverence the life He has given.

At the same time the heart of Jesus is to seek and to save that which was lost. That is why He told of the shepherd who leaves to find the one sheep that has wandered and of the woman who searches carefully until the lost coin is found. In each story the finding brings great joy. The shepherd carries the sheep home rejoicing and calls his neighbors to rejoice with him. Heaven rejoices when one sinner repents. Jesus receives sinners, He does not defile Himself by drawing near to them, they are cleansed by drawing near to Him. That is our hope when we pray for any pastor or leader who may be serving without truly knowing Christ, or who has grown cold. The Lord still seeks, the Holy Spirit still searches, and there is still time. Today is the day of salvation, now is the accepted time, and the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all.

I also pray with you for those who are lukewarm. The Lord said He would rather we be cold or hot than lukewarm, because lukewarm religion gives a false sense of wellness while the heart is far from Him. What looks like revival on the surface can be shallow if it does not reach the heart. God looks on the heart. He promises to give shepherds after His own heart who will feed the flock with knowledge and understanding, and He calls His people to return to Him with the whole heart, not just outward form. My prayer is that God will kindle again a true fire of love for Christ in every backslidden and half hearted believer, that He will grant repentance and open the door as He stands and knocks, as promised in Revelation 3.

For those who do walk faithfully, imperfect yet sincere in wanting to please Him, I pray the Lord will strengthen and guard them. He is our ever present help. He is able to keep us from the evil one, to guard us from evil people and from deception, and to give His angels charge to watch over His own. He warns and protects His people, as He did when He warned Israel through the prophet of the enemy plans. He keeps those who are His.

I join you in asking God to give a true hunger for His Word, like newborns craving pure milk, and to give His Spirit of revelation so that hearts understand the Scriptures. Faith comes by hearing the word of Christ, and it is the Father who reveals His Son, not flesh and blood. Only in the Lord is salvation, not in hills or human systems or religious activity. His name itself declares that He is salvation, and all who trust in Him are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. May He grant that families are drawn by the Father to gather together, to hear the Word in faith and humility, to pray, to worship in spirit and truth, and to live authentic devotional lives at home, at work, and in witness to the lost.

So let us pray: Father, we thank You for Jesus Christ crucified for our sins and risen for our justification. We ask You to have mercy on any shepherd who does not truly know You, grant them repentance and saving faith before it is too late. Rekindle those who have grown lukewarm, set their hearts on fire again with love for You. Strengthen those who love You with a sincere heart, keep them steadfast, feed them through faithful teaching, and protect them from temptation, deception, false teaching, and the evil one. Pour out Your Holy Spirit to convict, to teach, to open minds to understand the Scriptures, and to draw the lost in our families and communities to Yourself. Make us a people who pray, who hunger for Your Word, and who rejoice whenever one sinner is found. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who alone is our salvation. Amen.
