We join with you in this deep burden for the Church, for its leaders, and for every soul who hears the Word, and we thank God for the hunger you have expressed for truth, for Holy Spirit empowered worship, and for the salvation of the lost.

We hear your cry concerning pastors and church leaders and we agree that God calls them to a high and holy standard. As it is written in 2 Tim 4:1-5, we are to preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and teaching, and to be sober in all things and fulfill our ministry. We also take to heart 1 Tim 4:16 to pay attention to ourselves and to our teaching, for in doing so we will save both ourselves and those who hear us, and 2 Tim 2:15 to be diligent to present ourselves approved by God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, correctly handling the word of truth. We pray for every pastor who may be lost, lukewarm, or backslidden, knowing that not all who stand in a pulpit truly know Christ, and we pray for devoted believers to be strengthened, that the Church would not be filled with unsaved hearers but with those who receive the implanted word with humility which is able to save their souls as taught in Jas 1:21. We agree with you that worship must be in spirit and truth according to John 4:24, not mere form but by the Holy Spirit who teaches us all things as promised in John 14:26 and who anoints us as in 1 John 2:20.

We lift up together the need for safety and for divine warning and protection, trusting that He will give His angels charge over us to guard us in all our ways as in Ps 91:11-12, and that as He warned Israel through Elisha in 2 Kgs 6:8-12, He still protects and directs His people today. We pray for pastors to seek God in prayer and daily devotion, to intercede for their congregations, to study the Word, to live sound lives, and to shepherd families and house churches faithfully. We ask the Father to draw families to Himself, for Jesus said in John 6:44 that no one can come unless the Father who sent Him draws him, and to draw them to faithful assembly, not forsaking our own assembling together as in Heb 10:25, following the pattern of continuing steadfastly as in Acts 2:42. We pray that every member and visitor would receive the Word not merely with the mind but by revelation of the Father as in Matt 16:17, with faith that comes by hearing as in Rom 10:17, with understanding opened as in Luke 24:45, and with conviction and conversion by the Holy Spirit as in John 16:8.

Father, You are our ever present help as in Ps 46:1 and Deut 4:7, and we thank You for Your Anointed One crucified for our sins as in Gal 2:20. We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved as in Acts 4:12, and through Him alone we have access to Your throne. Grant to pastors and to all of us first a war against prayerlessness, give us faith to pray and to seek You with all our heart, to hear and understand what You are speaking by Your Spirit as in John 16:13. Pour out Your manifest holy presence, grant repentance and faith, the knowledge of forgiveness of sins and newness of life, and give vision where there is none as in Prov 29:18. Protect Your people from the evil one as Jesus prayed in John 17:15, keep us from lack of knowledge as in Hos 4:6 and from famine of hearing Your words as in Amos 8:11. Deliver us from distraction as in 2 Cor 11:3, from deception as in Matt 24:4, from temptation as in Luke 11:4, from lies as in Prov 30:8, from false teachers who profess to know God but deny Him by their works as in Titus 1:16, from those having a form of godliness but denying its power as in 2 Tim 3:5, and from evil men and the evil one as in 2 Thess 3:2-3. We ask that You who desire that none should perish but that all should come to repentance as in 2 Pet 3:9, and who desire all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth as in 1 Tim 2:4, would seek and save the lost as in Luke 19:10, and save entire households as in Acts 16:31. Grant hunger for Your Word as newborn babies crave pure spiritual milk as in 1 Pet 2:2, and give the spirit of wisdom and revelation as in Eph 1:17, that we may pray in faith and receive as in Mark 11:24, knowing that when we ask according to Your will You hear us as in 1 John 5:14. We thank You for Your peace that guards our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus as in Phil 4:6-7. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We hear how much you carry for pastors and for everyone who hears the Word on Sundays. Your longing for prayerful leaders, for honest teaching, for worship that is real and alive, and for lost people to be saved comes through so clearly, and we are grateful you shared it with us.

We join you in asking God to keep stirring that hunger for His presence in you and in those you love. One of the quiet ways He works is through steady, faithful prayer and through a love for Him that shows up as worship in everyday life as well as on Sunday. It is encouraging that you are already interceding so faithfully. Continuing to lift up by name the pastors and families on your heart, and gathering with God's people whenever you can, are simple ways to stay rooted while you pray for others to be drawn in as well.

We also pray for your own walk, that the Lord would keep refreshing you as you seek Him and give you peace as you trust Him with those who are still far off or weary.

Father, we bring these pastors, churches and families before You. Pour out Your Spirit, deepen their love for Your Word, guard them from harm and lead them into truth and new life. Keep our friend close to You and give daily strength and hope. In Jesus' name, amen.

The burden which you have poured out before the Lord for pastors and for the church is one which every faithful heart must share, and it is good that you have brought it to the throne of grace with so much Scripture upon your lips.

We join you in praying that those who stand to preach the Word will first live in it. The charge in 2 Timothy 4 to preach the Word in season and out of season, and the word in 1 Timothy 4 to take heed unto thyself and unto the doctrine, belong together. A man may hold a sound creed and yet be unsound in life, and truth held in unrighteousness becomes but the cerement in which a dead church is wrapped for burial. What is needed is not only accurate words but a true work of the Holy Spirit within. As you have well remembered, the same truth may make one man tremble like Felix and yet renew another, because the mysterious Spirit of the living God goes with the truth to one heart and not to the other. Apart from Him we are dead in trespasses and sins, and no means of grace apart from His power can begin or continue salvation in the soul.

Therefore we pray with you for pastors who are yet lost, for the backslidden and the lukewarm, and for devoted believers that they may be kept faithful. Salvation is of the Lord alone, begun by the Spirit, carried on by the Spirit, and perfected by the Spirit who exalts Christ and stains the pride of all human glorying. We ask that the Lord will grant to preachers a life of prayer and study, that they may rightly divide the word of truth according to 2 Timothy 2:15, that they will seek God in secret, intercede for their congregations, visit families and faithfully shepherd house to house, and that the Gospel will come not in word only but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance.

We pray also for that worship in spirit and in truth of which our Saviour spoke in John 4:24. Without the Spirit our prayers become unavailable and our worship becomes form without power. To pray in the Holy Spirit is to pray in truth and in fervency, meaning what we say and being led by the Spirit of Truth into the sincerity and reality of devotion. May the Lord give His people hunger for the Word as newborn babes desire milk, and may He open minds to understand the Scriptures as He did for His disciples, and cause faith to come by hearing the message preached. We ask that families may be drawn by the Father according to John 6:44, that they may not forsake the assembling of themselves together, that visitors and members alike may receive the implanted Word which is able to save the soul, not by flesh and blood revealing it but by our Father in heaven revealing His Son.

And we join you in asking for protection and for warning, that as Elisha warned Israel, so the Lord would keep His people from distraction and deception, from false teachers and deceivers, from sin and fear and the snares of the evil one, and that He would give His angels charge over His own according to Psalm 91. We ask for the manifest presence of God, for repentance and faith, for the knowledge of forgiveness and newness of life, for vision and for keeping from the lack of knowledge which destroys.

Let us then continue to enquire of the Lord for these things, for this thing will He be enquired of by His people to do it for them. Let prayer be made without ceasing that the Spirit who is promised in the covenant to all the heirs of heaven as a directing and dwelling Spirit may be poured out upon pastors and people, upon households and upon the whole church, that Christ may be glorified among us and that the world may see how Christians love one another and know that the kingdom of Christ is come.

May the Father who is our ever present help, the Son who was crucified for our sins and is now glorified above, and the Holy Spirit who alone can make the Word effectual, grant these petitions according to His infinite mercy, and keep us all to the praise of His grace. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
