Holy Spirit brought this to my remembrance the other night as I was praying for my children and family "I will contend with those that contend with thee and I will save your children"
This just came to me: 'your children' is each child that is lost. I was reading Genesis this morning and Cain killed Abel and God ask Cain where his brother was and Cain's flip answer was "am I my brother's keeper?"
The answer to that question is yes. We are our brother's and sister's keeper. We are the life of God on this earth walk, living, breathing, speaking, blessing, encouraging and helping. We have been called out of the world for a specific purpose...to show forth the glory of God. It's not just about Ivan, beloved mother, it is about those 'gang' members who need salvation. It could be our loving Father wants you to show His love to them. They are not your enemy, neither are they your sons.
My sister posted this for someone else and I feel impressed to share with you:
"if there were no trials or storms in our life, there would be no reason to call upon Jesus for help and strength, and trials and storms shape our character because out of those trials and storms reveals what is really ruling over us, our fleshly desires, or the Spirit of God. This is the perfect time to ask God to pour out within you anew the love of God, and to give you eyes to see people as He sees them, of value and worth. Each of those people you see as your enemy, well, they aren't your enemy. Those who aren't born again have a spirit that is dead to the things of God, and unless our lives manifest the love and character of Christ, they may never come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ"
Father, thank you so much for revealing your abundant mercy and grace on a group of kids who are lost and in need of salvation. I ask that you would pour out your Spirit upon them, give them dreams and visions of your love and your holiness that they fall before you in humble adoration.
Bless Ivan's family with a son who reverences You and because of his love for You, his is obedient to his parents because he honors them, he will come home now. In Jesus name.
Amen.
I stand to the north: Ivan! go home!
I stand to the east: Ivan! go home!
I stand to the south: Ivan! go home!
I stand to the west: Ivan! go home!
Let this word go forth Lord until we have Ivan home safe and sound. In Jesus name. Amen.
