Some people pray in the morning. Others pray at night. Some, like the psalmist David, pray throughout the day. He sang, “Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice” (Psalm 55:17, KJV).
Whatever your usual practice is, the Bible offers many excellent prayers that are particularly fitting to pray in the evening. Here are ten:

1) Psalm 3:3-5, NIV
You, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, the One who lifts my head high.
I call out to the Lord,
and he answers me from his holy mountain.
I lie down and sleep;
I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.

2) Psalm 4:7-8, NIV
In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, Lord,
make me dwell in safety.

3) Psalm 16:8-9, CEB
I always put the Lord in front of me;
I will not stumble because he is on my right side.
That’s why my heart celebrates and my mood is joyous;
yes, my whole body will rest in safety.

4) Psalm 17:7-9, NIV
Keep me as the apple of your eye;
hide me in the shadow of your wings.

5) Psalm 27:1, NLT
The Lord is my light and my salvation—
so why should I be afraid?
The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger,
so why should I tremble?

6) Psalm 121:2, NLT
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth!

7) Psalm 121:3-8, NIV
He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

8) Psalm 127:2, The Voice
God provides for those He loves, even while they are sleeping.

9) Psalm 141:2, NIV
May my prayer be set before you like incense;
may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.

10) Luke 2:29-32, NKJV
Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace,
According to Your word;
For my eyes have seen Your salvation
Which You have prepared before the face of all peoples,
A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles,
And the glory of Your people Israel.
Try keeping a copy of these Scriptures by your bed. Pray one (or all) of them before you turn out the light. Pray them if you have trouble falling asleep—or even if you don’t.

It is very thoughtful of you to press these prayers that are suitable to repeat before sleep during the night.I am thinking also about the following: Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night: nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness-----For He shall give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways.(psalm 91v: 5,6-11)
