The Lord implants a sense of unrest in His people, so that we will "follow on to know the Lord." This unrest is a hunger to be conformed to the image of the Son of God. No profession of salvation is real without this element of unrest. At 1:12 ff. Campbell assaults the doctrine that we may accept Jesus as Savior without obeying Him as Lord. Rom. 10:9
