Great Awakenings in American History Part 4

This special series was delivered at Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena, California in January of 1976. Orr speaks about the enthusiasm of the church at the turn of the 20th century to make it the "Christian Century." He details the events that brought about the revival in Wales in 1904 and its unofficial leader Evan Roberts, including many fascinating details of packed churches, declining crime in society, so much so that the police had to take up singing in quartets. From there he speaks of revivals that it spawned in China, Korea and the great Pentecostal outpouring at Azusa Street in 1906.
