Mary was captivated with Jesus, and sat at His feet, but Martha was cumbered and hindered. If we have a single-hearted desire to be faithful to Jesus, it will shut out the clutter in our lives and simplify our decisions. Sometimes we get into a mode of performing, and we lose that intimacy with Jesus. We need this single-hearted desire in order to keep our first love.
