When people look at you, do they see a reflection of Jesus? As Christians, we are the representatives and ambassadors of Jesus to this world. It is our job to show Jesus to the world. Unfortunately, we are often as the scribes and Pharisees that Jesus spoke about, "So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach." (Matthew 23:3) Too often we fail to live what we preach. "There once was an atheist (we will call him Frank) who was interested in becoming a Christian. The pastor of the nearby church, upon hearing that Frank was interested in Christianity, invited him to dinner. During dinner, the pastor talked to Frank about God, religion, and...
A believers walk with the Lord depends a great deal on who God is to the believer. We have to settle it in our minds of who God is. Is God good? All the time? If we see Him as being good sometimes, then we are like a ship tossed by the seas and going no where. We waver in our faith. When we are steadfast in our faith about who God is to us, then we will be able to move into the great things God wants us to move into. We need to settle it in our minds, and especially our actions, about whether or not "God is good, all the time".
Why would Paul, Directly chosen by Christ to "stand before governors and kings" (Acts 9:15), ask "prayers for Kings and all in authority so we can lead a quiet life" (1 Timothy 2:1-4)? Then he refers to the fact this is "good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior who wants all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth..." The answer is that Paul knew what has already been written in Proverbs 11:10 and following and what God had to say about respecting the office of authority (whether you agree with the person appointed or not) and that this has a positional association with the land to some degree as to how well or poorly the land fares based on the actions of it's superiors... "When the righteous prosper, the...
Don't Give Up! There will be times in our lives when it seems that all is lost, that there is no hope, that God has forsaken us, and that no matter what we do, things just get worse. - Firstly, let me assure you that God will NEVER forsake you. The Bible says, "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6) "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." (Hebrews 13:5) We may forsake God, but He will never forsake us. - As hard as it is at times to believe, God will never give us...
We praise You o Lord, for Your goodness endureth forever. We fail you every time, we forget to read Your word. We did not even pray before leaving for work. Forgive us Lord. Guide our steps towards your holy presence. Make our hearts like Yours. Full of mercy and compassionn. In Jesus name. Amen
God is love. (1 John 4:8) God's only law is this, "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these." (Mark 12:30-31) Love never fails, because God is love, and God cannot fail. Only God's love can truly satisfy us, only His love can fill the hole in our hearts. God's love is endless. He loves us, despite our failings and shortcomings. He knows we are sinners, impure and imperfect, but He loves us regardless. He loves us so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, into the world to suffer and...
Pray for kings and all who are in God ordained leadership at this CRUCIAL TIME in World History -- For President Trump to have favor, guidance and the Fruit of the Spirit for Government (Creating order out of Chaos like The Spirit did for Israel in the Wilderness -- gave the rebels The Law) -- Also The Military, Congress, Supreme Court and Law Enforcement, Federal, State & Local. In Jesus' Name -- This is urgent -- Paul URGES us to do something important like forget ourselves, Pray for the Kingdom of God and Our Country. Amen. Urgent. http://www1.cbn.com/cbnnews/politics/2017/february/many-many-want-the-job-rsquo-trump-to-meet-candidates-for-national-security-advisor-position
If you are too busy to pray, then you are too busy. We have become so busy that we have little or no time to spend praying. We have to make time to pray if we want God to answer our requests. Is your work so important that you cannot find a few moments to be alone with the Lord? God wants to give us our needs and wants, but if we are too busy to ask Him, how can He give us His blessings? So let's take a few moments to pray every day. Amen?
God expects us to do the possible, then God will do the impossible. Are you equal to the task? No, but God is. Nothing is impossible with God. He made the people role the stone away when He raised Lazarus (John 11:39). He made the blind man go wash in the Pool of Siloam. (John 9:7) The miracles and blessing will not come if we are unwilling to do our part. He never fails if we obey and do our part.
