God wants to restore your soul. What does that mean? Your soul is your mind, will and emotions. You are a three-part being: you have a spirit — that’s the part of you that lives for eternity, you have a soul, and you live in a body while you’re here on earth. Your soul is where the enemy tries to attack you and hold you back. Your soul is where you may have brokenness from the past or hurts and disappointments, but when God restores your soul, He brings His healing power to those broken places. He makes you whole again. And when God restores you, He makes you better off than you were before! Notice that He leads us beside quiet waters. He makes us lie down in green pastures. This is a picture of rest. When we are resting in Him, He is...
You'd be surprised, sometimes things that happen in 2 different categories have more in common than you'd think.Take, for example, an epidemic of a physical sickness.Like, during flu season, how does it spread? One person in a family gets it, then another at close range because the germs have spread. And so on in the outside. Now take an "epidemic" of spiritual misinformation, or, if you call it, deception of the devil. How does it spread?Say, a parent is into the occult, the kids hear it, and they get this "germ" of unbelief spread to them.you could almost say they "caught it", from someone infected by those false beliefs.Like the flu starts with one or 2 people, then picks up steam and spreads,so too with the spiritual, and other sins of...
What are you expecting in life—good things? Bad things? Big things? Little things? Anything at all? God wants you to get your hopes up The Bible says, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for." One definition of hope is confident expectancy. Did you know that you can't even have faith if you don't first have hope? Your expectations set the limits for your life. If you never expect anything good, you're never going to receive anything good. If you don't expect things to get better, then nothing will get better. God promises to meet you at your level of expectancy. That's why Jesus said in Matthew 9:29: "According to your faith be it done to you." One translation simply says, "Have what your faith expects." Make the decision to expect...
Thou shall not die, but live. This is such a wonderful promise to all of us who believe, trust and love the Lord with all our heart, mind and soul. So, let us not ever worry about anything in this world. No matter how big our house is, or our car is the late model convertible, or how fat is our bank account, our graves will be the same size and nothing absolutely nothing we will be able to take to heaven. The only thing that Jesus will ask us when we get to heaven is this. Did you read My word? Did you obeyed what I said? How many lost souls did you bring to My feet? What our answer will be? Dear Jesus, open our hearts to love You more. Open our ears to hear Thy voice. Open our minds to understand the wonderful...
"By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." (John 13:35 ) People aren't going to know we're His disciples by how many times we come to church or how many Scriptures we can quote. People will know we're His disciples by the love we show one another. The enemy tries to bring division throughout the Body of Christ by keeping us focused on our differences. When we're critical and judgmental, we build walls that separate us. The Bible says in Ephesians 4:13, "We need to come together in the unity of faith." There's great power in unity! We can do a whole lot more together, as born-again believers, than we can do apart. Let's decide to lay down our differences and come together in the...
(Colossians 3:13): “Bear with one another and forgive one another if any of you have a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord has forgave you.” As true believers, we know and understand the very important command of our Lord to ‘forgive’. How important is it? Forgiveness is the sole reason the Lord gave His life for us. For the ‘forgiveness’ of sins. And what does the Lord tell each of us about the results of forgiving, or the lack thereof? (Matthew 6:14-15): For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others sins, your Father will NOT forgive your sins.” But wait a minute! Are we not told that if we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior...
We read "Jesus went about healing all manner of sickness, and delivering all those who were afflicted of the devil"The word here is ALL.Because I notice on the site, one person on the site{or me}posts about a problem, another posts about a different kind of problem, and the 1 person gets maybe 1 reply 45 minutes later, and that's it, and the other gets 5 replies within 10 minutes. And I notice which type of requests get more play. Now the problem, I don't think this would be happening if we didn't have what I call a "ratings sheet",where we come to our own conclusions about which problem is more "important"..Remember, Jesus healed ALL. He didn't have a" ratings sheet," and show partiality towards one persons problem over another. To the...
"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:9) A lot of times, we have our own ideas about how things should work out in life. But God’s ways are not our ways. In Scripture, God brought water out of a rock. Jesus told Peter to go catch a fish, open its mouth, and there was the money he needed for taxes. Another time, God caused a young lady named Mary to have a baby without knowing a man. He is God. He can use things we would expect, or He can make things happen another way. With God, you don’t have to figure everything out. All you have to do is believe. In fact, it says in Proverbs, “Lean not to your own understanding.” Sometimes there is...
“Our capacity to love determines merit” Who determines merit, and where does it end? Where one is from does not determine his/her worth (merit). What happens when the script is flipped, and some man determines that the ways in which the potter shaped your clay, be it: physical, mental, affluential, or otherwise, is of lesser merit? EXCLUDED dark skin kinky hair Spanish speaking handicapped elderly mentally impaired short men fat women factory workers (we can use robots) hillbillies, hoodrats, rednecks, wetbacks (and the descendants thereof) (you get where I’m going with this . . . ) At some point, divisiveness, evolved into bigotry, being rooted in...
