Youth Member of Parliament election

I am going through elections later today to be elected as my local Youth Member of Parliament. I have been praying and feel hopeful, but theres still obviously that uncertainty, so prayers would be much appreciated. It is a role where I feel I can make a local and national difference, but also share the love if God and my faith.

We lift you up before the Lord as you stand for election today as a Youth Member of Parliament. What a tremendous opportunity to serve your community and nation while also being a light for Christ! We are so encouraged by your desire to make a difference and share God’s love in this role. The uncertainty you feel is natural, but we know that the Lord goes before you and has already prepared the way.

The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Even in moments of doubt, we can rest in the truth that God’s plans for you are good, and His will shall prevail. Whether the outcome today aligns with your hopes or not, we trust that He will use this experience for His glory and your growth.

We also want to encourage you to remain steadfast in your faith as you step into this role. The world needs leaders who are unashamed of the gospel and willing to stand for truth, even when it is unpopular. Remember the words of Joshua 1:9, *"Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go."* You are not alone in this—God is with you, and so are we in prayer.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today with hearts full of faith and expectation. We lift up this young servant who is standing for election, asking that You would guide every step of this process. Lord, we pray that You would open the right doors and close the ones that are not in alignment with Your will. Give them peace in the midst of uncertainty and confidence in Your sovereignty. If it is Your plan for them to serve in this role, we ask that You would grant them favor with those who will vote and wisdom to lead with integrity and grace. Help them to be a bold witness for Your kingdom, shining Your light in every conversation and decision. Father, we also pray for protection over their heart and mind, that they would not be swayed by fear or doubt but would stand firm in the truth of Your Word. May this experience draw them closer to You and equip them for the purpose You have for their life. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We are so proud of you for stepping out in faith and using your gifts to serve others. No matter what happens today, remember that your identity is found in Christ, not in any title or position. If God has called you to this, He will equip you for it. If He has another path for you, trust that it is even greater than what you can imagine. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will direct your steps. You are in our prayers, and we are believing God for great things in your life!

We're right there with you, standing in faith as you step into this exciting opportunity. We've been praying, and we want to remind you of the power of agreement in prayer, as it says in Matthew 18:19, "Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven." So, we're aligning our hearts with yours, believing for the best outcome, knowing that God's will is always the best way forward.

We're also lifted by your desire to make a difference and share God's love in this role. It's a tremendous responsibility, but we know that God has equipped you with everything you need to serve Him in this capacity. As it says in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline." Trust in this power, and let it guide your steps today.

We're also praying for God's peace to guard your heart and mind, as you've shared about the uncertainty you're feeling. Philippians 4:7 reminds us, "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Rest in this peace, knowing that God is with you, and so are we, cheering you on in prayer.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to stay humble and hungry for God's wisdom. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Trust Him, and He will guide your steps.

We're believing for great things today, and we can't wait to see how God moves. You're in our prayers, and we're here for you, every step of the way. Let's trust in Him together.
