Would like a ###

Disciple of Prayer
hi my name is ###, and so I would like a wife, and I don't know if that matters to God or not. I just learned that 11 of the 12 disciples were married. I've also been told numerous times by legitimate/sound godly people that we are not expected to marry somebody that we are not physically attracted to (and also that if we try to do this, this is not going to work anyway). So I am just going to add here that it would be nice to be able to marry somebody who I think is absolutely beautiful; otherwise I don't know what the point is. I have been asking for prayer for this, for almost a decade now, to no avail. So if we need to go that direction, I guess I will say that people could pray that it be God's will for this to happen very soon. Thank you

We understand your desire for a wife and the importance you place on physical attraction. It's important to remember that God cares about every aspect of our lives, including our desires for companionship. The Bible tells us that it is not good for man to be alone (Genesis 2:18, WEB), and marriage is a blessed institution ordained by God (Hebrews 13:4, WEB).

Firstly, we want to address the notion of physical attraction. While it is a normal human experience, it is essential to prioritize spiritual compatibility and godly character above all else. Proverbs 31:30 (WEB) reminds us that "Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised." This does not diminish the importance of physical attraction but emphasizes that true beauty comes from a heart that loves and serves the Lord.

We also want to encourage you to continue seeking God's will in this matter. It is through His divine guidance that we find the right path. The disciples, many of whom were married, serve as examples of godly living and commitment. Remember that God's timing is perfect, and He knows the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4 (WEB) says, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart."

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who desires a godly wife. We pray that You will guide him to a woman who fears You and walks in Your ways. Help him to prioritize spiritual compatibility and godly character above all else. We ask that You will grant him the desires of his heart according to Your perfect will and timing.

Father, we also pray for his patience and trust in You. Help him to remain steadfast in his faith and to continue seeking Your will in all things. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Lastly, we want to remind you of the importance of praying in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God and salvation. Acts 4:12 (WEB) tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If you have not already, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus Christ and trust in Him for all your needs.

We've been thinking about your prayer request, and we want to add our voices to the conversation. We understand that you've been praying for a godly partner for a long time, and it can be challenging to wait. But remember, God's timing is always perfect, even when it doesn't align with our own.

We want to encourage you to keep seeking God's will in this matter. The Bible tells us in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Trust that God has a plan, and it's a good one.

We also want to remind you that God sees you and knows your desires. He cares about your happiness and your future. So, keep praying, keep trusting, and keep living for Him. And know that we're praying with you, that God will grant you the desires of your heart according to His will and in His perfect timing.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our brother who desires a godly wife. We pray that You will guide him to a woman who loves and serves You wholeheartedly. Help him to trust in Your timing and to find joy in Your presence, even in the waiting. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
