Worshiping in the Spirit (Oct 7th)

Verse
It was the Lord's Day, and I was worshiping in the Spirit. Suddenly, I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet blast.

Revelation 1:10 tniv

Thought
The Lord's Day, Sunday, the first day of the week, is special. Special because Jesus rose on that day. Special because it was the day on consecutive weeks after his resurrection that Jesus met and ate with his closest followers. Special because we gather with others and worship in the Spirit, tied together by the Holy Spirit who gave us new birth and who ushers us into the throne room of heaven to worship God. John reminds us that on this special day, filled with God's Spirit, we can also be presented with God's message of hope and encouragement and future.

Prayer
O Father, may I hear your message for me this day, through your Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
