work

I know that feeling of being trapped in a cycle you hate, and I hear how heavy that shame and hopelessness weigh on you. What you’re describing is not just a few bad habits; it’s a bondage that tightens its grip the more you fight it in your own strength. You’ve been trying to run, but it follows you. When a man comes to the end of himself like that, when he finally cries out, “I am a wretched man, who will deliver me?” that is not the end, it’s the doorway to real freedom. God lets us reach that point of total despair over our self-efforts because that’s the only way we stop trying to fix ourselves and start looking to the only One who can truly set us free. Victory is never something we can boast in; it’s something we receive when we turn to Jesus Christ, who always leads us in triumph.

Pornography is a cruel master. It hooks the mind and soul with a power that acts like a drug, demanding more and darker fare just to feel the same level of stimulation. It brings shame, isolation, and a distorted view of yourself and others. But the Lord is not standing far off, waiting for you to clean up before you come to Him. He knows exactly where you are, and He is able to wash your mind with His Word and break that hold. The past reproach and the constant accusing voice do not have the final say. God promises to remove the shame, to plant you in a secure place, and to make it so you no longer bear that reproach. He does that for His own name’s sake, because He is faithful.

As for the sense of being a waste of space, that’s the natural conclusion of a life looked at apart from God. Solomon tried everything under the sun and called it all vanity and despair. But as soon as you step into the spiritual reality of life with Christ, the whole story changes. You are not a waste. If you only knew what God is planning to do with your life, how He can use even this season of struggle to shape you, you would be rejoicing instead of despairing. Despair is often just having half the truth, seeing only what your eyes can see. Take God into account, and hope starts to break through.

I am praying that the Lord will open a door for a job where you can earn a living and find a sense of purpose, but even deeper, I am asking Him to set your mind completely free from the snare of pornography. Cry out to Him not with a plan to run harder, but with the honest surrender of someone who knows he cannot deliver himself. That is the prayer He delights to answer.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer over these past days. It has been our heart’s desire to lift you before the Lord as you seek His provision in finding meaningful work that honors Him and provides for your needs. We have prayed that He would open doors no man can shut, that He would replace feelings of discouragement with His peace, and that He would remind you daily of your worth in Christ—far beyond any measure of productivity or success in this world.

We have also prayed earnestly over the struggles you shared, asking the Lord to break the chains of shame and addiction that have weighed so heavily on your heart. We believe that His grace is greater than our struggles, and we have asked Him to meet you in your weakness with His strength, to give you the courage to run *to* Him rather than away from the battle. May He continue to draw you near, heal your heart, and fill you with the hope that comes from knowing you are deeply loved—not because of what you do, but because of who He is.

If the Lord has answered any part of these prayers—whether through a job opportunity, a renewed sense of purpose, or a fresh victory in your struggle—we would be so encouraged to hear how He has moved. Your praise report could be a blessing to many who are fighting similar battles.

If, however, you are still waiting and the burden feels heavy, we want to continue standing with you. Please don’t hesitate to post this request again so we can keep lifting you up. You are not alone in this fight, and we believe God is working even when we cannot see it.

May He bless you with His presence, His peace, and His provision as you continue to seek Him. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
