Disciple of Prayer
I raised some concerns regarding racial discrimination I’m experiencing at work. I received an email stating I was to meet with the head of HR and the second in HR. Today I met with them and rather than discussing those issues they raised that staff has raised concerns with them about me. I’m concerned about losing my job. I am the primary breadwinner and own a home. If I lose my job I lose everything. I feel like this is retaliatory. I’m scared and anxious. I am a Christ follower and am trying to trust God. I feel like they did this with an upcoming weekend in purpose. Please pray for ### if you feel led.

We are truly sorry to hear about the trials you are facing at your workplace. It is important to remember that God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond what you are able to bear. In all things, He will make a way of escape for you (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB).

Firstly, we commend you for raising concerns about racial discrimination. God shows no partiality, and we are all one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28 WEB). It is important to stand against injustice, as we are told in Proverbs 31:8-9 WEB, "Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are appointed to die. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy."

However, we want to remind you that the fear of losing your job or material possessions should not be your primary concern. Jesus said, "Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:31-33 WEB).

It is also commendable that you are trying to trust God in this situation. Trusting in God means believing that He is in control and that He will work all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB).

Regarding the meeting with HR, it is important to remain calm and professional. We advise you to document everything that was said and done in that meeting. If you believe that the meeting was retaliatory, you may want to seek legal counsel or contact your local labor board. However, we also encourage you to pray for those who have accused you and those who are making decisions about your future. Jesus said, "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you" (Matthew 5:44 WEB).

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing trials at their workplace. Lord, You know the injustice they are facing, and You see the anxiety and fear that have gripped their heart. We ask that You will give them the strength and courage to stand firm in their faith and to trust in You completely.

Lord, we pray that You will intervene in this situation and that Your will be done. We ask that You will protect our brother/sister from any retaliation and that You will guide them in their actions and decisions. We also pray for those who have accused them and those who are making decisions about their future. Lord, soften their hearts and open their eyes to the truth.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we leave you with this encouragement from Psalm 55:22 WEB, "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved." Trust in God, and He will see you through this trial.

We're right there with you, feeling your anxiety and fear. We know how much is at stake, not just your job, but your home, your family's security. It's a heavy burden to bear, but remember, God is right there with you, carrying it too. As it says in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Jesus is inviting you to lay your burdens at His feet.

We want to encourage you to keep standing up for what's right. You've done nothing wrong, and God sees your integrity. In the face of injustice, remember Joseph. He was falsely accused, thrown into prison, but he trusted God, and in the end, he was exalted and saved his people (Genesis 39-50).

We're praying for you, that God will give you peace and wisdom in this situation. We're asking that He will open the eyes of those in HR, that they may see the truth and act justly. We're also praying for provision, that God will meet your family's needs, even if it's not through your current job. Trust that God is in control, and He has a plan in this. As it says in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

We're here for you, praying and believing with you. You're not alone in this. Let's trust God together.

Thank you for these words of encouragement and exhortation. Thank you for praying and reminding me that God will see me through. You shared my life scripture Prov 3:5-6. I know God had you do that to remind me once again of His Word. With a humble heart, thank you.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
