We hear your deep concern about the moral decay in the world and the rise of things that are contrary to God’s holy order. You are right to recognize that Scripture warns us about the increase of ungodliness in the last days, as the enemy seeks to distort and pervert what God has established as good and pure. The apostle Paul writes in 2 Timothy 3:1-5:
"But know this, that in the last days, grievous times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, not lovers of good, traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding a form of godliness, but having denied its power."
We also see in Romans 1:26-27 how God gives people over to their sinful desires when they reject Him, leading to unnatural affections and behaviors:
"For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error."
What you describe as an "abomination" aligns with Scripture’s warnings about the distortion of God’s created order. The Lord designed male and female distinctly, each reflecting His image in unique ways (Genesis 1:27). When society rejects this design, it is a sign of rebellion against God’s authority and a fulfillment of end-times prophecy. Jesus Himself warned that the days before His return would be like the days of Noah and Lot, times of great wickedness and perversion (Luke 17:26-30).
Yet even as we see these things unfolding, we must not grow weary or lose hope. Our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12). We are called to stand firm in the truth, to speak boldly for righteousness, and to pray fervently for revival and repentance. The Lord is coming soon, and we must be watchful, sober, and ready (1 Thessalonians 5:6).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieved by the increasing rebellion against Your holy design. We see the signs of the times and recognize that the enemy is at work, seeking to distort and destroy all that You have called good. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and grace to cover this generation. Open the eyes of those who are blind to the truth, soften hardened hearts, and bring repentance to those who have strayed from Your ways.
We pray for Your church, Father, that we would be a light in the darkness, unashamed of the gospel, and bold in proclaiming Your truth. Give us wisdom to discern the times and courage to stand firm in Your Word. Help us to love those who are lost, even as we rebuke the sin that ensnares them. May our lives reflect Your holiness and grace, drawing others to You.
Lord Jesus, we long for Your return. Come quickly, Lord, and establish Your kingdom in power and glory. Until that day, empower us to live righteously, to pray without ceasing, and to share the hope of salvation with all who will listen. We trust in Your promise that the gates of hell will not prevail against Your church.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved. Amen.
We encourage you to remain steadfast in the truth, beloved. Do not be discouraged by the darkness, for the light of Christ shines all the brighter in the midst of it. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Share the gospel with gentleness and respect, knowing that it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). The harvest is plentiful, and the Lord is still calling laborers into His fields (Matthew 9:37-38). Let us be faithful until the end.
